OK - the location cannot be beat. It's a block from the Islands. There are two fantastic restaurants below...ok you might smell some garlic in the downstairs foyer. The place is one flight up some stairs easy enough. A previous comment said it was noisy - we heard no noise. The apartment faces an inner courtyard and it can get hot at night. There are two fans. Everything worked. The place was clean, the communication prompt. It was fantastic place and I will be trying to rebook this on my next trip to Paris.

I wanted to give a good review. The host Remi was very pleasant. Unfortunately there were two reasons which made us decide we couldn't stay for the duration. I took a brief shower and nearly slipped...grabbing onto the faucets. The floor of the shower hadn't been cleaned as evidenced by the photo depicting someone else's hair. I am blonde. My daughter did not shower because of the black mold. Picture attached showing the black mold. We did not feel safe due the condition of the shower. Next, the futon was terribly uncomfortable. My daughter slept on the futon. She fell out because she felt she needed to sleep on the edge to avoid the bar in the middle of the futon. So instead of enjoying an apartment stay, we moved to a hotel. I (the 85 year-old mother) paid for the apartment and do not like to complain. This trip was my trip of a lifetime. I visited France over 30 years ago and had looked forward to enjoying Paris with my daughter. Bottom line, It was a major disappointment.

Location is its primary asset. The apartment is funky but adequate. Nothing deluxe or fancy, for sure. It could certainly benefit from nice little extras, like a soap dish in the shower, a bright enough reading light to read in the bedroom, better silverware, nicer towels (they're almost paper thin), and fixing the slow drain in the bathroom sink. But the location is wonderful - on a cute little street in Marais- a wonderful restaurant across the street, a superb boulangerie in the block, and a good food store and the Metro100 m away.

Great location. Excellent and easy communication with host. Unfortunately it was quite noisy throughout the night with people coming and going. Due to restaurants below cigarette smoke could be smelt in the apartment at times, however this is not the fault of the host. There are steps up to the first floor to be aware of if you have international suitcases.

Our stay in Paris

Need blockout curtains because of sensor lights opposite. Very noisy restaurant opposite and below. Cooking smells often from restaurant. Unchipped mugs would be a bonus.Owner should not be taking future clients through when we are still there. Not good policy.Great being on first level.

7 day Vacation

Overall the room is in a prime place everything is in walking distance, Louvre, Notre Dame and the canal ride. There's a couple groceries stores in walking distance everything works except I couldn't figure out the washer. No dryer. There's a set of stairs you have to go up no elevator. So if you have a lot of luggage just be aware. Sync works fine toilet works fine no air conditioning but there's a fan for each room. Would I rent again? Yes.
