Welcome to Altitude Adjustment! Our beautiful mountain home is located at the top of the mountain in the heart of Fleetwood Falls. We are approx. 30 minutes from Boone and 20 minutes to West Jefferson. The community is located along the New River. Enjoy your morning coffee on one of the outdoor decks while looking at views of Grandfather Mountain!
Pets are allowed! There is a 25lb 2 limit max. Pet Fee will apply. **We do not make exceptions on our pet policy!!

Wedding trip in Deep Gap

The house had everything our group needed, to include three bathrooms for wedding celebration prep and primp, and a porch to relax on after the rehearsal and reception- that came a close second in the highlight reel for the weekend. Have already recommended to others for future visits to the Boone area!

Thur- Sun. Comfortable beds, cute decor, great views, quiet neighborhood. Only problem was door code, but my daughter got it open. Road is pretty intense if you’re not used to mountain roads! Visited W Jefferson, winery nearby & Boone. Early am sun was beautiful & a couple deer passed by up the street.

Mountain getaway

This house was lovely and perfect for a restful trip away from the city. Close enough to Boone to go into town but great just to chill in the whole time. The screen doors were a wonderful touch as there were a couple of light rain storms that came through during our stay and it was wonderful to have a breeze and hear the rain. We had a wonderful trip and will definitely be back!

Girls Trip

family trip with mom, sister and aunt. Just a little quiet get away for the weekend. Enjoyed you sharing your house with us. It was beautiful, clean and love the coffee bar. Absolutely loved the ping pong table and playing with my mom. We had one when we were kids now, I want another one. Close enough to town if you want to go. Peaceful and quiet if you just want to sit on the deck and enjoy the view or play games in the basement. Have saved this as a favorite and will be coming back.

Breathtaking

Altitude Adjustment has become our mountain home away from home. Great location between West Jefferson and Boone, not to mention proximity to southern Virginia, including Whitetop Mountain, Mount Rogers and Grayson Highlands. Majestic views in peaceful Fleetwood as well. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ashe County.

The perfect getaway!

Altitude Adjustment was the perfect place for us to stay for the second year in a row! The house is well stocked, clean, and the owner took care of all of our needs while there. The kids, and adults too, loved the game room downstairs and spent lots of time down there. The view from the house is gorgeous, especially when it was snowing. We can't wait to go back again!

Quietness in every direction

Such a magnificent home near one of the most charming towns in the High Country, West Jefferson. This was our second visit to this home, and it won't be our last. Simply put, it just feels like home. A touch of rustic yet modern; well-appointed; quietness in every direction. And early morning coffee or EOD wine on the deck with its stunning views of nothing but mountains, well, as mentioned, we will be back! Count on the host to be very responsive and laser-focused on attention to detail to ensure your stay is as enjoyable as was ours.

The house was fantastic, offering beautiful views of the mountains. Winter wonderland

My daughter and her husband had never seen snow before this trip. It was absolutely beautiful to look out the windows and see it falling. They ran outside to play like young kids. Every morning we were greeted with deer in the back. There were so many unexpected amenities.We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.

What a view!

We had a wonderful time at Altitude Adjustment. The view is fantastic. The home is cozy, but spacious. Everything you might need has already been provided down to the bandaids in the kitchen.

Best place in the world!

We had a wonderful time in the glorious mountains! The house is so perfectly appointed with anything you could possibly need, but if you forget something, not to worry, travel 15 minutes to West Jefferson’s Ingles. The store is loaded with all you could possibly need, even a Starbucks! Love the little neighborhood of Fleetwood Falls. We walked it many times and rested at the beautiful lake. Make your plans to rent this place if you want to visit, Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson or the Blue Ridge Parkway for the best scenery in the world, just don’t go when I want to!!!!!

Altitude Adjustment resulted in Attitude Adjustment

The accommodations were comfortable and exactly as described. The finished basement was a nice addition. Loved the wildlife in the mornings and evenings. A lot of hiking on the mountain and house was only 20-30 minutes from movies, hiking and shopping. The River at the bottom of the mountain looked refreshing but a little too cool for tubing this trip. Neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The kitchen had everything we needed plus some uncommon gadgets. Look forward to coming back next year.

A wonderful stay in the Mountains

We just returned from a 15 day stay and we had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and nicely appointed, with a wall of windows highlighting the view. We enjoyed many relaxing hours on the deck, with a long view of the mountains. There is a dining table with umbrella on the deck which provided some shade during the warmer days. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The game room in the lower level had lots of fun games and ping pong table. We also had fun playing the golf simulator. The neighborhood was great to walk our small dog, hardly any cars, and gave us a pretty good workout with the inclines. There is a community lake nearby with a small beach, tables and chairs, which also was a great place to take our dog to for exercise. The roads are narrow and steep up the mountain but we got used to them. West Jefferson is a 20 minute drive away, with a great grocery store, restaurants and shops. We highly recommend Craft Bistro for their innovative upscale food. Boone is 30 minutes away with more restaurants and shops. Blowing Rock is about 40 minutes away. We have booked for next year and can't wait to go back.

Great property and location

The property was beautiful and the neighborhood was also very beautiful. Location was good and was close to the river and not too far from the blue ridge parkway. We loved it there.
