The White Pelican Cottage is your nest at this boutique resort on beautiful Manasota Key!! Part of the Shorebirds Beach Cottages property, a newly renovated property located just a 3 minute walk from the beautiful Gulf waters and shell strewn beach. A thoughtfully appointed kitchen, dining table, living room with queen-sized sleeper sofa, one king bedroom, and one queen bedroom are among the comforts offered for your carefree vacation. Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on your private screened porch or hang out in our lush tropical backyard garden. In the evening, take a stroll to awe at the most dramatic sunsets, found only on this side of the gulf!

From your cottage, you can be on the beach in about a 3 minute walk, conveniently paved all the way to the sand. We provide a beach cart, chairs, beach towels, and an umbrella for your day at the beach. We also have some other beach items available like boogie boards, noodles, sand toys, and coolers.

Explore the key on one of our (adult-sized) beach bicycles or venture out on a Paddleboard or Kayak, all available to our Shorebirds registered guests.

Relax in our tropical backyard oasis by one of our wood or gas burning fire pits, a great place to gather and meet your neighbors. We also have BBQ grills, laundry, and outdoor showers.

The White Pelican offers other conveniences such as: a contactless, private entry. Microwave, Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator. Free Wi-Fi. A cable connected 50” Smart TV is in the living room and 36” TV’s in each bedroom to watch live programming or to view shows using your favorite streaming apps.

Enjoy our island culinary delights at one of our local restaurants where you are likely to find live music most days of the week......only a 15 minute walk, 8 minute bicycle ride, or take a ride on Stumpy's Free Ride, our island golf cart service.

Explore the other Key beaches including Englewood Beach, Blind Pass Beach and Manasota Beach, each offering another glimpse of the island life on Manasota Key!

This cottage is the left unit of a very quiet duplex shared by the Laughing Gull.

Please Note: For your maximum comfort, the number of overnight guests in the White Pelican is limited 5 people, see the following combinations of persons:

Four (4) Adults and 1 Teenager or Adult

Four (4) Adults and Two (2) Children under the age of 12

This is a non-smoking property. Smoking is not allow inside cottages, nor on porches or in any outdoor space on the property. Smokers must take a stroll off property at or beyond the sidewalk to smoke.

Bring your friends and family….we have three other units on-site!! Check out the Laughing Gull next door and the Piping Plover and Oystercatcher Cottages in the next building!!

Wonderful Beach House

This was the nicest place we have ever stayed! The house was very clean and had so many amenities—we really only needed our personal items and groceries. They provided everything else we could possibly need. The beach was a short walk from the house. We love the beach here—calm clear water, shells galore, beautiful sunsets. You should absolutely book this house for your next vacation!

Everything you need.

Very clean property with everything you need. Small but excellent in terms of having it all for a 2-7 day stay. The area is still recovering from hurricanes in the fall of 2024 but this property is in great shape.

Fabulous Stay

Wonderful place! Location was perfect for our long weekend. We enjoyed the cottage; the kayaks; the gas firepit; and proximity to beach, State Park and resturants. Owners were easy to get in contact and supplied lots of great extras to the cottage. Fabulous stay!

It’s just as good as it looks in the photos! Very clean and comfortable. We really appreciated the bikes and kayaks and everything that was provided for the beach..a cart, chairs, towels, cooler, umbrella and a shade canopy. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing find

The cottage was perfect. So many amenities and perks to staying. We enjoyed every moment and even made friends with the neighbors. We will continue to reccommend this place as well as hopefully be able to book again for a future trip! Amazing hosts!

Sparkling clean, everything looked brand new, immediately responsive owner, so close to the beach, all needs met. We saw dolphins, went shelling, found sharks teeth...I wish we could have stayed longer

Great location, thoughtful details

This is a great little condo that is updated and clean. The amenities were great, including kayaks, bikes, outdoor shower, tons of beach gear. The owner left several sweet touches including snacks, wine, beer, and toiletries. Beach access was about a 5 minute walk, and came right out at the best shark tooth hunting area. We really enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

Greatest escape!

This home was a wonder to stay in. Everything u could possibly need was available. The outdoor showers were so handy after the beach! The laundry, the porches, the everything was great! They provided such wonderful instructions, it answered all questions for before, during, and after stay. I can’t wait to return and stay longer next time! We spent a lot of time on the beach each day!

Beach lovers dream

This cottage was absolutely amazing! Was exactly as advertised, just come with your bag. Everything else is provided. If you choose to cook in, just get your groceries and everything else is there for you. Great addition are the bikes and kayaks, we so enjoyed having these items available. We will be back with more family to enjoy this picture perfect place. Great job Jen and Eddie!!

Perfect piece of paradise

We had a wonderful time at the property and it was even cuter than the pictures! We loved using the bikes and though we didn’t get to the kayaks we can’t wait to try them next time. The place was so clean and the beds super comfy. The space was perfect for our family and we loved the screened in porch and the outside spaces to hang in the morning and evening. We walked to the beach daily and biked to dinner at night. Will absolutely stay here again. A great layout inside and out and they thought of every detail!

Wonderful getaway!

Enjoyed this getaway with my husband. We arrived to find everything exactly as described! The owner has snacks, a bottle of wine and a few cold beers for you. There is sunscreen, a few toiletries if you need them & even cleaning supplies. The facility inside and out is very clean! We parked our rental car and rode the bicycles to the restaurants & Stump pass park where we walked the trail and went to beach. We used the wagon one day as well to go to the beach. You definitely won't be disappointed if you enjoy riding bikes, kayaking, walking and like a clean place to stay!

Highly recommend!!!

Jen and Eddie have created a wonderful resort style getaway. The location was fantastic, the amenities were wonderful from the bikes and kayaks to the fire pits and grills. The interior was really well done and stocked better than any place we have ever stayed. We made dinner at the unit several nights. Nice touch with wine, beer and snacks in the unit on our arrival. Jen and Eddie are great people, and we had some great conversations with them. Close to the action of town and a short walk to the beach or the state park. We had a great stay. The Lock and Key was a great bike ride destination and had a fantastic charcuterie board and beverages. Thanks!

5 stars Perfection!!

My family has wanted to come to Manasota Key for many years and I am so thankful we found Shorebird!! We stayed here with 17 people, we all agreed that this was perfect and met all needs for our large group. Upon arrival the snacks and wine were a huge hit! Right away we felt welcomed and at home. We were able to put the bags down and walk a few blocks to the beach. We loved the location, so safe and quiet, just minutes away from the beach which allowed us to walk back and forth with ease. The added beach amenities were amazing, from the carts, to the chairs, umbrellas, shark tooth hunting tools, boogie boards, bikes, kayaks- Jen and Eddie thought of every last detail to make going to the beach fun and easy! We really loved that there were so many kitchen items that really helped cooking for 17 people so much easier- it was also so handy having the little kitchen items like lunch baggies and foil, very impressive touches. We also all loved the outdoor shower- it made it so handy to get clean after a day at the beach. We used the BBQ area every night and utilized the screened in porches and outdoor seating. Everyone slept very comfortable in the nice beds. It was an added bonus to have laundry access right there at the house. The kids looked forward to boogie boarding each night at sunset in the warm waters of the Gulf We felt so welcomed right away and Jen and Eddie were very fast to respond to messages. Thank you so much for making a memorable stay for our family!

Relaxing getaway!

My family really enjoyed staying at “White Pelican.” Everything about this property was perfectly described in the listing and completely met our expectations. The property was both fun and relaxing, every detail was thought of and everything we needed was provided. Even as a Florida resident (owning beach toys, chairs, carts, kayaks, ect) I enjoyed going on a beach vacation and not having to bring all of our beach gear! Added bonus the “snack basket,” we all loved this extra treat! Manasota Key itself is a nice small area perfect for a relatively quiet vacation. It was perfect not having all the touristy activities and shops around. Overall, we lived our stay and highly recommended staying here!

fabulous mini vacation

We enjoyed our visit at this location. Quite, lovely town! Just a few steps down the road and you are at the beach enjoying the beautiful beach! Let me just say HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST!! They provided everything you could possibly think of for your visit… Beer / wine / and snacks were there upon arrival what a surprise 🥰. They had bikes and kayaks and so much more to use while on our stay. You thinking about cooking they have spices/oils pots and pans everything you need to cook your meal. The kids had a GREAT time sitting by the fire pit and of course so did we! We will definitely be back.

Cozy Little Beach Cottage

We loved our stay! The cutest little beach cottage. Beds and bedding was very comfy and house was very clean. Had everything you needed even the little extra stuff they put in there to make you feel welcome and at home. What a great host! The back yard was beautiful and enjoyed it in the evenings. Close to beach and bay. Enjoyed the kayaks seeing the dolphins! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect cottage!

A nice retreat

We had the pleasure to meet the owners Jen and Eddie they go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed!. Location, location, location...10mins walk to prestine Stump Park, one block to beach. The facilities include everything you need is truly a home away from home. Loved having the kayaks we enjoyed them so much! Just bring your bathing suit for a weekend we did not even finish the complimentary drinks, snacks, they truly provided everything you need for a 3 day getaway. Thanks So much we hope to be back again!
