Located on the PENTHOUSE Floor of Sandy Beach - 19th-floor condo, get ready to relax and get away from it all.

When you're not enjoying a seafood dinner at one of the restaurants down by the beach, stay in and prepare meals in the fully equipped kitchen. The kitchen has new appliances and everything you need to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Head to the quiet bedroom after a long day of fun in the sun for a good night's sleep. The bedrooms have 2 Queen beds, and 2 additional guests can sleep on the murphy bed in the living room.

Wake up each morning and step out onto the balcony to enjoy your coffee or orange juice! Watching the sun slowly rise over the horizon is the best way to start out your day. The second-floor lobby also has coffee readily available for your convenience. Sit down and overlook the ocean and pick up a newspaper!

Top Floor

We've stayed at Sandy Beach Resort in the past, but I wanted to try a VRBO listing this time. This penthouse condo did not disappoint! It was clean with great views from the balcony, and easy access to the beach. We will stay again if we come back to Myrtle Beach! On a side note, if you get a chance, definitely go down & around the corner to McAdoo's Cafe and grab a beer or cocktail from Fran - she's awesome. We spent every night there!

Location was great - easy to walk to where we needed to go. Condo shows age and wear. Could use more thorough cleaning and updating.

Great Stay

The room was very nice on the 19th floor. Great view of the ocean. The room was updated like stated and had code entry which made it nice so you didn’t have to worry about having keys. The amenities of the hotel were nice as well. 2 outdoor pools, 2 hot tubs, kiddie area and an in-door pool and lazy river. Walking distance to restaurants and activities.

I deliberately waited on this review because I was so upset with my experience with this unit and I wanted to calm down before I wrote this. I'm going to give you a little back story first, so you will see where I am coming from. Me and my family has not been on vacation since covid and my breast cancer diagnosis. This was going to be a special milestone for us. Me being cancer free and enjoying spending time with my elderly mother and a moody teenager. I booked with you because I thought that was my only option. A co-worker had recommended Sandy Beach resort and when I went online and made the reservation it had Vrbo, so I thought I had to book through you. Again, I didn't know because I hadn't booked a vacation in over 5 years and I thought everything had changed due to covid. Now with that being said, the description of my unit said remodeled. If this is considered remodeled, I don't want to know what it looked like before. Linens didn't match in our room. It took us 3 days to find linens for the murphy bed in the living room. Instead of them being on the bed where they should of been, they where in a tv console. Make it make sense. We had one lamp in our bedroom. No top light. Doors were pealing. I will try to load the pics of the refrigerator rust spots and a beheaded owl decal on our balcony. Vents were coated in dust. I don't know if my expectations were too high, but I was not impressed. We had all these rules of what to do or not do, yet I couldn't have a clean room.

Cool view from balcony

Aside from that and the jacuzzi tub, not much else to applaud. The location of this particular condo is less than ideal for night life or restaurant options. This part of Myrtle Beach is in severe economic decline, so I don't recommend staying here. Also, the owner sent multiple emails regarding rules. Immediately after confirming our deposit, they sent an email wanting a copy of DL and CC which we declined to cooperate with. This seems fishy all around.

Exceeded expectations

The condo and building were cleaner and better kept than what I expected. Short walks to beach and family kingdom was excellent. By the way, the water park/slides seen next to Sandy Beach has not been open for at least two years according to a beach lifeguard. This was a let down but, not within the scope of Big Fish rentals or the Sandy beach complex. Typical loud music and cars cruising the strip but couldn’t hear a thing up on the 19th floor. I would repeat if venturing to myrtle beach again. Beds are comfortable. Standard cable TV was great (no Hd). WiFi was kind of spotty but OK overall. My only real complaint is the low shower water pressure but great overall. Thanks Big Fish for a great vacation. ( 2 adults 3 kids )

Property was nice enough. A bit dated but we the fact that we had a kitchen and a laundry in the apartment was a bonus, as was the jacuzzi tub. Balcony was fantastic overlooking the beach and the fact that the apartment is on the 19th floor made it feel like we were on a cruise ship since, from inside the apartment all you see is water. However, We arrived late and exhausted and realized the next day that we had to wash all the sheets and pillows as well as vacuum the washroom and flip the mattress over. There was vomit on the floor outside one of the hot tubs by the pool and it was not cleaned up for 3 days. Multiple calls about issues to the managing company were never addressed or returned. Very frustrating.

Great Property/Great Location

We enjoyed all of the amenities. Everything was clean and comfortable for our family. We went during a busy time of year, and this location was perfect to spend time on the beach without overcrowding. Something that would make it easier would be a can opener and a cutting board. Otherwise, we had EVERYTHING we needed! Thank you for providing a great property and great management team!

Best View I've Ever Stayed At

The view and relaxing atmosphere of the balcony is worth every penny, and some. The murphy bed is a nice touch. The A/C works great. The pools are lively and useful. Parking situation can get a little chaotic later into the evening becuase on certain days/times it is a shared lot with another property/business. The proximity to Family Kingdom is a 10/10. Leaving the amusement park late at night and literally walking across the street is just so fantastic. A 5 minute drive from everything worth seeing and doing, ie: Broadway at the Beach, the pier, Market Commons, and the Pelicans minor league baseball stadium. Would stay here again.
