Get a taste of the coastal lifestyle and sound views in this wonderful retreat! With plenty of room for everyone to spread out, this home-away-from-home features a simple floorplan complete with a spacious living room that seamlessly connects to the full kitchen and dining area to make entertaining a breeze. Bonus downstairs sitting room with TV and Ping-Pong accessed through separate garage entrance, and access to the backyard through sliding glass doors that provide a lovely view of the canal. When you want a bit of fresh air, watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee or host a cookout in the sunshine and whip up some burgers on the private gas grill. Don't worry about sandy suits after long days on the beach either, as a private washer and dryer await on the lower level of the home. Don't forget to bring the furry members of the family along too because this home is dog-friendly!

Sitting on a quiet peninsula in the sound, this retreat will give you a sense of peace and quiet, yet you can make your way just six miles to the heart of Kill Devil Hills where you will find a plethora of restaurants, shopping options, and grocery stores. While out and about, be sure to check out the famous Wright Brothers National Memorial, Jockey's Ridge State Park, or North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island. Plus, there are a plethora of local golf courses to get a round of 18 in!

THINGS TO KNOW
The Colington Harbor Community Outdoor Pool is located at 1000 Colington Dr., Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. The community pool is typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Availability and fees subject to change at the discretion of HOA. Wristbands for pool access are available at the pool facility from 11 am to 7 pm. The cost for access is a $2 deposit per band (cash only). A maximum of eight guests are welcome. For use of the boat ramp, guests must pay cash only (exact change preferred) at the entry guard gate at a rate of $10 per day or $25 per week.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.




Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

House is a perfect spot for someone with multiple dogs and does not care about pet hair, stained carpets, etc. We were not allowed to check in an hour early as we were told housekeeping needed that time, however we were in the driveway and there was no housekeeping there. Sinks and tables were dirty upon entering home and no resolution about cleaning fee being reimbursed as we had to clean.

Needs Some Upgrades

Location of rental was nice. The upstairs was good. However, the downstairs room was musty and there were no instructions on how to use the air conditioner in the room. The grass needed mowing. The grill needs cleaning. With some loving care, this could be a much better rental. Vacasa, however, responding very quickly when we contacted them.

Outer Banks Getaway

Rental offered enough room for spouse, myself & our pet to enjoy stay like we are at home. Clean surfaces and linens as expected. But the corners and ceilings needed cleaning. The sliding glass door to deck needs repairing.

Good location

Home worked out ok but we were disappointed that there was so much damage to paint and door frames. Recent fire next door melted the siding on the house. Grass was not mowed until we contacted manger and downstairs was not usable at all. Very mildewy and musty and nothing but a tiny ping pong table. We did enjoy the water and deck views. Manager was very responsive and did send someone out to mow the lawns but not sure why they would not have done it before our arrival.

Pictures are not what you get

There were ants we did not know about and destroyed our donuts the first night. The beds are very uncomfortable the home is very worn and needs some things repaired like paint hanging from the ceiling and carpet damaged. The pictures made it seem like a very beautiful house and it was for sure when the pictures were taken but not anymore. The sliding door that two people commented on still an issue. That game area smells like mold and is very damp. The house location was perfect to everything we wanted to do and the neighborhood is very quiet. The view of the sound is beautiful.

Family stay

Nice trip. Overall cleanliness of interior was good. Fishermen must have stayed before us because freezer and fridge had a fishy smell. Put baking soda in both and it helped. They also left a carton of bad bait on downstairs patio which gave a fowl oder on the upper deck. We removed it also and the oder went away after the nights rain.

Enjoyed

Good, we got locked out the second day, called the host sent out someone with back up key, changed the batteries and worked great, he noticed the glass hadn't been mowed in a while so someone was out the next day while we were out and mowed. The outside grill gas bottle was empty so we couldn't grill out like we wanted to.

Tranquil Getaway

For the most part the home was very clean where it mattered (kitchen, bedrooms bathrooms). However there were some areas that were in need of cleaning. As you walk in there were large amounts of spiders webs on a picture hanging on the wall. In addition the outside of the home was also in need of power wash to remove the extensive amounts of spider webs on the facade and the stairwell leading p to the front door. While this did not affect our stay we were a little surprised to have this be the first impression of the home. Other than that the home provided a tranquil getaway for me and my wife.

Good vacation/ok place

The house is clean & in a good location on a waterway off the sound. The neighbors are friendly. The biggest complaint were the mattresses. We all left with aching backs. The downstairs would have been a good hang out place but it smelled super musty. We bought refills for the air freshener but never ended up filling it because we didnt want to be down there. Also the neighbor is putting in a dock & the workers started at 7 am, so that wasn't the wake up call we wanted but not in the homeowner's control. Overall it was ok since we booked at the last minute & we had a good time. Please update those mattresses though. We saw another reviewer comment on them a while back but hoped they had been replaced.

Bay Breeze Stay

The property is in a quiet area. It was fairly clean and certainly comfortable enough and as several reviews mentioned, the neighbors were a delightful surprise. When we arrived I thought there were very few eating/drinking utensils so I hand washed everything we used. Then I discovered the dishwasher was FULL of dishes! Washed? Unwashed? I didn’t know! And when we went to use the BBQ we found old food, a dirty unit and NO propane!! Bottle empty!! Also, dirty linens it the washing machine. Calls to management were promptly answered but they were unable to get us any local response until the next day. One should be able to expect to have the property in complete working order - as advertised - upon arrival.

Decent House

We enjoyed staying at a sound house for the first time at the OBX. The main living part of the house was perfectly fine and clean and the rooms were decent size. The exterior of the house and the downstairs could use some attention. As other reviews have mentioned, the siding on one side of the house has melted from a house fire that was next door; curious when they will fix this as it's been mentioned in a few reviews And, I don't know if we just went at a time when the bugs had been unusually stirred up from storms, but I was really surprised by the amount of bugs, spiders and cobwebs that were on the outside of the house. I mean, I'm used to bugs at the beach, but this was just excessive. The exterior was covered in cobwebs and spiders. Perhaps we just went at a time of year that is "buggy." I don't know, I don't have any other visit to compare it to. The house would benefit from some type of pest control, if it's allowed in the area. And, as others have mentioned, the downstairs has an extremely musty smell, to the point, it's unpleasant to be down there, but you can't smell it in the main part of the house, and we just didn't use the downstairs except to set up our fishing equipment. The exterior and the downstairs is what made me rate it overall as a 3. We would stay here again, because it's a quiet neighborhood, but would love to see some improvements to the exterior of the house.

Property itself is pretty much same with pictures Except ping pong table is much smaller than normal size. One thing I want to bring out is terrible communication with Vacasa, home management. To our surprise, there were no blankets or comforters on beds. To have a proper sleep after long trip, I contacted them as soon as I checked in at 4:00pm. After several callings and texts with robots, finally I was able to speak with a “human” customer service. He said local staff are out of work time so he would send someone next morning But until we checked out in 3 days, nothings was solved. Glass door to the deck was not fixed so we couldn’t properly use deck. we had to use a bathroom towel because there was no paper towel or kitchen towel. We had to sleep without blankets while we stayed there. Next morning I tried to contact them, let them know we still need those items and glass door fix but all texts were automated robots, keep saying “sincere apologies with inconvenience” Very disappointed with service. Whole family don’t want to go back there again.

Good if you will be in and out a lot.

The overall cleanliness was good, but general maintenance work was lacking. Lots of bugs and black stuff all over the glass patio door area, portions of the stripping were disconnected and laying on the ground, and I honestly didn't recognize the property from the photos - only the back yard was shown. The next-door neighbors were incredibly loud and did not observe quiet hours, it was irritating. The back yard has a beautiful view though, and the water was nice to listen to when other people weren't yelling and hollering at each other.

General maintenance lacking

We qualified for early check in but when we arrived the code did not work, it took and hour and a half, three calls to the answering service before they generated another code so we could get in. The on site team never responded. Home and location is decent but the cleaning could've been better, cob webs everywhere throughout the house. Rusty nails were sticking up on a lot of the deck boards and stairs. There were extremely large roaches outside on the deck, we only saw one inside but it kinda kills your vacation vibe. We still had a good time and the home did it's job as a place to lay our heads it just needs some attention, I'm glad there were no major issues because it seems the property management team is not very responsive

Nice house on the water

The sliding doors upstairs and downstairs wouldn't lock. Felt unsafe at night due to that fact. Other than that we had a great time. Location was great, all amenities were awesome and it was very clean! We'll be using your services in the future
