Two floors of decks means two floors of relaxation! You'll love all the spots where you can kick back and relax at this home. You may have to play rock-paper-scissors for the extra swing under the porch! The bright interior will help you get in the mood to visit the beach, and the central air conditioning will help keep everyone comfortable. Cook up a delicious meal together in the semi-open kitchen, complete with a prep island and a dishwasher. Relax with ease while the private washer/dryer takes care of the day's beach towels. The lovely ocean views will also help put you in the vacation mood. Just rinse off your sand in the outdoor shower and head on inside.

Enjoy being super close to the beach! The city of Dauphin Island is just under five miles away, where guests can enjoy local restaurants and shopping. The West End Public Beach is just under a quarter-mile away and features Sunset Concerts once a month during the summer. Get closer to native wildlife at the Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab, just seven miles away.

We loved everything about our stay! The house was clean, kitchen needs were all met, the deck and beach access was on point! We thoroughly enjoyed the bed swings on the bottom deck for our shaded needs! This was the best weather, calmest and clearest water in our three years of visiting the island! We saw dolphins, lots of fish jumping throughout the day, fishing opportunities, few jellyfish and even caught some hermit crabs! We had a fabulous stay and can’t wait to return next year!

Great vacation home rental! Check-in, check-out pricess was quick and easy. Home was comfortable and spacious, had a well stocked kitchen with lots of prep space and quality appliances. Great uninterupted views of the gulf, with both covered and open seating areas on the large deck. The house is very close to the ocean, so you don't need to lug a lot of stuff to the beach... you can just hop back to the house to refill your drink, grab a snack, etc.

Great spot!

It was perfect for 2 families. Loved the 2 king rooms. The deck had great seating. Super important to me. Swings are a fun addition. Needs extra supplies of dishwasher soap, paper towels and toilet paper. The supply wasn’t near enough for the week. Those seem to be staples that we shouldn’t have to bring. Otherwise, we’ll definitely try to book again.

Nice house

The house is very nice with a great ocean view. Swings underneath were a good addition . The sitting area underneath is a little rough, with rusted and torn camp chairs that I'm not sure why they were there but didn't feel it was my place to throw them out. Being so close to the water was an awesome experience with herons that landed daily. For beach walks, better waves or skim boarding we walked to west beach. I don't find Vacasa to be very responsive unless you have a big issue and that held true. Nothing major came up but the 2 smaller issues I reported were not addressed. The location of the house was worth my concerns about the management company, though. Not anyone's fault, but be aware that there is a spot to the left of the house that is concrete from what seems to be a house that the ocean took. My kids snorkeled around it and saw crabs, but if you didn't notice it and ran or dove in without knowing it was there you could get hurt. Its easily avoidable and this probably makes it sound bad, but it's just a little spot but something to be aware of. Overall the house is great. Little things need to be fixed, but nothing that would stop me from renting again. Nice features I wasn't expecting were shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided in both showers. Plenty of towels were provided. Overall, this is as close as we'll ever get to stay to the ocean and was almost a private beach some days. The location and view were definitely the best parts for us!

October Anniversary Trip

The house and location was perfect! Just me and my wife for an anniversary trip, so we had the run of the place. Spent tons of time on both the upper and lower decks. The house was clean and well appointed. My wife enjoyed the place so much that during the course of our stay, she only left on the nights that we went out to dinner. Looking forward to next year!

great access to beach, very clean, need a few more household items

Our family stayed for 1 week and had a good time. The house was very clean upon arrival. The house could have been furnished with a few more household supplies for the size of the house and the number of people it could accommodate. These items were needed: several more kitchen towels (more than 2), more dishwasher detergent (tiny bottle supplied), a drying rack for hand-washed items (none supplied), more than 2 kitchen trash bags, more trash sacks for the bathroom trashes, sharp knives (all were dull), kitchen storage containers like Pyrex or Rubbermaid for leftover food (none supplied). There was a broken coffee cup in the kitchen cupboard. Several kitchen tiles and tiles outside the laundry room were broken, and the refrigerator was set so cold that it froze our food stored in the back.

Great house and beach - needs some improvements

The house and location were great. Awesome access and the house was overall pretty clean and spacious for our group of 9. The amenities could use improvement. You’ll probably need extra toilet paper, trash bags, and laundry soap. The internet was horrible and we could not get direct tv / any streaming service to work. Might as well bring some dvds to watch if you want to use the tv.

Perfect beach vacation!

This lovely beach house was the perfect place for our family vacation. The house is nicely decorated and was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. The split floorplan was perfect for our family, with the little ones and their parents on one side and adults on the other side. The inside is very spacious and allowed a great space for meals and visiting. The deck is also very spacious and has both a covered and open area, and a locking gate at the top which kept our little ones safe. The beach was just a short walk and the sand was beautiful. We had a minor issue and contacted Vacasa. The local representative contacted us very quickly and resolved the issue within a very short time. Overall, this was a delightful stay.

Never Stay Here

This was the worst experience I have had. There were multiple problems with the property including a carpet in the main room that was loose with edges turned up that caused people to trip and a staircase that was lower on one side than the other which also caused people to fall. One of the toilets was loose and rocked back and forth. The TV and internet did not work. Nothing was said in advance that if you parked in the designated location and the tide was extremely high your car could become flooded and/or sanded in. I have made multiple attempts to contact VACASA but no one will contact me back.

Oooohhhh that view!!

We truly loved our stay! We had 6 guests total and were extremely comfortable. The ocean view was spectacular. Being just steps away from the waters edge with nothing but brilliant white sand made our stay incredible. My wife's standards far exceed my own and she was as thrilled as I was. We are already considering a return trip to the same property.

Everything you hoped for and more.

This is just a great property. You’re literally on the beach and can see the other side of the island from the front porch. The kitchen has everything you need to cook. It’s got a large appropriately sized television set for that group movie watching. The beds are fabulous, it’s beautifully appointed. Worth every penny.

A lovely beach home. So peaceful, relaxing, and well appointed. Honestly…I researched like crazy and this was THE best on Dauphin Island. We will be back! Thank you for all your kindness and attention to details. (The kitchen is stocked with everything you need.)

My Enchanted Visit

Very relaxing. It was a little cool and windy but we were able to make good use of the "swinging beds" on the second level! Snuggle up with a good blanket and enjoy the sound of the waves lapping onto the shore. Then the rainstorm came in and that was another sight to see! I loved watching that also! It was a wonderful few days of relaxing pleasure!

Great place for multiple families!

Overall we were very pleased with the house and the service at Nightingale. There were only a few minor things that we had issues with and only one thing that required contacting the owners. They were courteous and helpful and fixed the issue right away. The only reason I am giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is there are some places that need some minor updating. However, it was clean, comfortable... and you can not beat the location!

Disappointed

I was very disappointed when we arrived. The house was outdated with furniture. The cookware was old and rusty. The back porch was horrible. You can’t walk on it or you will have splinters. A previous review said it had been fixed. Lie. I will not stay in this house again. Oh not to mention the mouse droppings in the cabinets. Owners of you can’t use the rental money to keep the place up you may want to sell it. It was so expensive to be so disappointing.

Perfect location

This house was clean and in a perfect location! The beds are comfy with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. We never ran out of hot water with 7 of us taking showers. Downfalls are 1 of the rope swings and 1 of the bed swings were broken. We would stay at the Nightingale, again!
