Kona Makai - Ocean View! Gorgeous Sunsets! Beautiful Spacious Condo 2 Lanai’s

The Kona Makai complex is a beautifully maintained & highly sought after Ocean Front Complex located on famous Ali'i Drive, just 1.3 miles from Kona town. This wonderful complex features include, beautifully manicured tropical grounds, Saltwater ocean front pool and spa, sunny lounge area, two work out rooms, eating area w/ gas BBQ’s, tennis courts, ping pong table, ample parking, and is gated during the night for security.

Building 3 is especially sought after because of the positioning of the main front Lanai as it’s much cooler than any other building in the complex. You can also enjoy the sun & relax on the back Lanai off the BR.

Kona Town is a short 20 minute walk on wide shoulders, or hop on the famous Kona Trolley that will take you almost anywhere from Kona to Keauhou.

When the ocean is flat there is good snorkeling or diving in front of the complex.

Our unit is on the second floor, there are 2 lanai's, one off the living room looking at the ocean and pool, the other off the bedroom. The master bedroom has a king bed, ceiling fan, all linens are provided, as well as a hair dryer, iron & board. The Condo is tiled throughout including both Lanai's.

We have free fast secure WiFi.

The living room has a new 55" Smart LED TV, ceiling fan. There is a new washer and dryer in the unit. The blue "Big Island Guide Book" is provided, and other guide books.

There is a eating bar with stools, looking into the kitchen. You can also eat your meals on the lanai at the table and chairs, enjoy the view of the ocean or I have trays you can take your food down to the BBQ area. We have a light & fan on the lanai for enjoying your evenings outside.

We provide beach chairs, beach cooler, fins, snorkels, masks(no water shoes), beach towels, beach umbrella, Boogie Board, tennis racquets, first-aid kit, hair dryer, iron & board.

The room was perfect for my daughter and I. Bed was comfortable and it was nice to have the air conditioning when you just needed to cool the rooms downs a bit. They have it stocked with everything you could need. We saved money just on using things like the cooler. The grounds were beautiful with lush landscaping and the views of the ocean were gorgeous. It was in close proximity of dining and shopping also. Perfect little place to stay. Rod was also easy to communicate with and I was very thankful that we could do a late checkout.

Great stay in Kona

The property is perfectly located for experiencing all Kona has to offer. It is close to the ocean activities, dining/art options, and nature exploration. The grounds were immaculately maintained and boasted beautiful ocean views.

Great Kona Condo

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and this condo was the perfect place. Close to Kona but a very quiet complex. Loved all of the beach accessories and the condo has everything we needed. Will definitely book next trip to the Big Island

Great Location

This place was was well equipped and within walking distance of town. The owners were very responsive and helpful. It was the perfect location for us and we enjoyed our stay. We also enjoyed the amazing sunsets from the beach chairs right on the water each evening! Thank you!

We liked staying here because the photos are honest. Yes, we did see the ocean from our patio. Lots of beach toys, and such. Older but clean and well stocked.

Truly a very nice property!

Really enjoyed staying in this unit. Comfortable, fully stocked with all the items you need to go to the beach, nice layout with Comfortable bed, very nice shower, complete kitchen with all the items to make nice meals, nice patio facing the ocean and complex has very nice pool/hottub as well as several gas grills. Gated complex and seems very safe. Easy walk into town and conveniently located stores. Definitely would like to stay there again!

Great vacation

We enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai. The condo was clean and had everything for a relaxing start to the day with coffee and a nice patio. There was everything we needed to enjoy the beach and snorkeling. The Kona Makai complex was very quiet and had a terrific view of the sunset from the pool area. The television screen quit while we were there and Rod quickly evaluated the problem and had a new TV installed. We would definitely come back in the future.

Amazing condo!!!!!!

I cannot say enough about this condominium, the complex and the owners of the condo. The condominium is beautiful, clean, has a fantastic view of the ocean and is equipped with everything you need for a perfect Hawaiian vacation. I highly recommend staying here. The grounds of the complex are also stunningly gorgeous, the pool is right on the water and you can go out on the lava rocks and snorkel right in the ocean from there. The owners of the condo are very kind and accommodating. I will definitely be staying in this condo again.

Great condo

We had a great time at this property. Everything you need for fun days at the beach are included (chairs, big beach towels, large beach umbrella ⛱️, coolers, boogie boards, noodles ) it was nice to have the use of those things. Pool & spa were very nice & clean. Condo is stocked with lots of kitchen equipment and stuff. Bed was very comfortable. Nice to have a washer & dryer as well. All in all we had an awesome time!!! I would highly recommend this property. Until next time … Aloha.

The condo was ok. But do not like all the rules at Kona Makai too many "DON'T". Will not stay again.

The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The new cable box had not been installed so on had a few stations to get. The sofa is dated and not very comfortable. The comp,ex is nice but since so many owners live there they have way too many rules that other vacation condos do not. Have to be careful about everything you do. We have lived in condos that don't have so many rules.

Amazing location!!

Rod and Reena were amazing hosts. They answered several questions in a very timely manner prior to our arrival as well as during our stay. The condo itself was perfect and the location cannot be beat! 1 mile from town with the commuter bikes for rent right outside the complex. They even had ice waiting in the freezer! Everything you needed to explore the island was at your fingertips. Boogie boards , snorkel equipment , beach chairs and a small cooler and beach bag. They even had bandaides which came in helpful after the hike to Captain Cooks for amazing snorkelling. The actual complex has beautiful gardens and a great pool and hot tub area with lounge chairs right on the ocean. We saw whales in the distance and a manta ray jump out of the water right in front of us! There is a Farmers Market 1 Mile away in town and another one .5 miles away . The even offered us a late check out to help us out on our last day. I would definitely recommend these hosts and this suite and complex! Stephanie

Loved our stay here!

My husband and I booked with Rod for 10 days. We found his communication to be excellent throughout our stay, even notifying us when he had to leave the island and making sure we had a good contact number should we need anything. Upon our arrival we found the photos of the place to be exactly as described. The condo is on the second floor, with a lovely lanai that looks into a beautiful courtyard and directly out on to a partial ocean view. It was our favorite place in the morning when the birds were signing and flying around, and in the evening for dinner or drinks. Everyone in the complex is respectful during quiet hours, which is wonderful because there is a lovely ocean breeze that blows through the condo and keeps it cool. We loved leaving the windows open for the ocean sounds, smells and breeze. We found the house to be fully equipped with all the cooking utensils we needed, and in the evenings there are always people grilling and enjoying the sunset in the lovely courtyard on the water. Although the pool area was beautiful and people were enjoying it, we did not get a chance to try it out. There is plenty of secured parking, check in/out was super easy. This was a perfect location for us to enjoy the Ali’i Drive shops and restaurants, a 1 mile walk or short drive to the hustle and bustle. Also was a great middle spot for day trips along both sides of the island. We wouldn’t change a thing about our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Great condo and location!

The place was great. It had everything we needed. Very clean. Perfectly located just a few minutes south of Kailua-Kona and right on the water with an ocean view. We loved it and loved our stay on the Big Island!

Great condo by the ocean

Very nice condo in a quiet and beautiful complex. Clean, comfortable and had everything I needed (and more). I especially enjoyed the lounge chairs by the ocean. I wish I could have stayed longer. The location is great - walkable to Kona and easy access to main roads to other areas of the island. Rod was a great host - communication was easy and he allowed a late checkout which helped me out a lot. I would stay here again.

Great place for two. Just what we needed.

The condo was as advertised. Clean, equipped with all of the kitchen utensils and other supplies we needed. We didn't feel the need to eat out as we found a card on the bulletin board for fresh local fish. What a treat! The location is close to the things we wanted to do, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Nice comfortable Condo

A nice condo, Comfortable and peaceful Bed is perfect .A good night sleep is important to us. No view of ocean really but the gardens and birds are beautiful. We lived our stay.
