Durango River Retreat, Private, Close to town.

Welcome to a uniquely remodeled 1300 square foot guest house above the detached garage. Enjoy your mountain vacation in this modern, fully furnished, quiet getaway. This is a private, end of the road retreat with everything needed to have a comfortable stay near Durango. Located ON the Florida River approximately 7 miles Northeast of downtown and a short drive to Lemon, Nighthorse, and Vallecito Reservoirs.
Your own private spacious deck has dinner table four four with a couple extra spring chairs and tables to take in the quiet mornings and enjoy an evening dinner outside. Grill anytime of the year. The deck has an amazing view of the river and the surrounding mountains.

The open living room has a WIFI smart TV, electric fireplace, two sitting chairs, coffee table, and sliding glass doors that open to your deck overlooking the river. There is a sleeper sofa can be used for extra guests and has a very comfortable self-inflating mattress. The open U-shaped kitchen has beautiful granite counters, stainless steel oven/ gas stove top, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee makers. It comes fully stocked for those that like to cook and seating at the large island.

The large master bedroom hosts a comfy queen bed made with quality linens, a down and or synthetic comforter, extra blankets for cold nights, a large closet and armoire. We have placed a smart TV in the armoire for watching TV under the covers. Adjacent to the bedroom is an office space with a tall mirror, extra dresser, desk, and sitting area.

There is one stocked bathroom with tub, shower, sink, and toilet. All you need to get ready for a night out downtown. A separate laundry room contains new, high quality, large capacity washer and dryer, as well as lots of room to hang clothes. Up the ladder is a comfortable loft for reading a book, taking a nap, or watching the sun drop behind the pines.
We have space for two vehicles in the large pull through driveway.
Due to the proximity to water we do not allow pets, or children under the age of 10.
Owners are on the same lot but not in the same dwelling.

Relaxing and cozy stay by the river

The property was even better than described and had all amenities we could have asked for. The place was kept very clean and was comfortable! It is a bit of a drive from downtown Durango, but we thought it was well worth it for the relaxing riverside property. Cyndi is an excellent host, even bringing us some delicious freshly baked cookies as well as a bouquet of roses to celebrate our recent marriage! She kept us updated about a local bear mom and cubs that sometimes visit the property. I would absolutely recommend this stay!

So clean, very modern..the sound of the River was constant as well as nature,; deer, bear, fox. We will always stay here when visiting Durango. The owners are amazing , personable and there to help and advise on adventures around the are.

Perfect nature retreat

Wonderful stay! Our home was lovely, the surroundings were lovely, and our host were the best we’ve could’ve asked for. We especially Enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and the bear cubs. Of course the hot chocolate chip cookies weren’t bad either. We had a wonderful stay and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Cyndi could not have been a more pleasant or accommodating hostess. Just enough distance from town for convenience, but still quiet and peaceful. Wonderful location and river. The rental was very nice, cozy and clean with everything one would need. Thank you for a great stay !

Quiet, convenient, and beautiful

Beautiful scenic property and facilities. After meeting Cyndi and seeing the cabin, we knew we picked the right property. We felt right at home, it was really hard to leave at the end of our week. Quiet area if you want to relax, short drive to Durango with its many places to eat and things to do. >

Great scenery and view

The location was nice, and the owners were friendly. We were very comfortable and it made us feel like we were at home. It was a sad moment when we had to leave. Definitely a great place to stay. Especially if you want to disconnect yourself and get back to the way life was before becoming so busy.

Durango River Teyreat

We really enjoyed this stay. Property was clean and well stocked. Our hostess and her son were a delight. It was nice to come back to this quiet place at the end of the day and relax on the large deck. We really didn’t lack for a thing, and would love to come back!

Perfect Space

My fiancé and I stayed at Cyndi and Steve’s place for the week while we were in Durango. We were there for our wedding and the stay couldn’t have been better. We loved Cyndi and hope to come back soon. The Retreat was perfect for the two of us. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for every part of our stay at the Retreat.

Sitting by the water was wonderful

My wife and I loved our stay. Steve and Cyndi were wonderful. The home is only 10 minutes to town which made the location perfect. Sit by the water, it is wondrous. We will be back for sure :)

Luxury Mountain Paradise for Couples

Beautiful setting, beautifully decorated and designed loft with the peace we were looking for. Cyndi has done an excellent job of providing every detail you will need for a stay here. The kitchen is the best outfitted kitchen we have ever had with a VRBO. Lovely hosts and lovely family. Planning on coming back again.

Wonderful place in the country

The property owners were wonderful from the beginning of our stay to the last day. Steve brought us chocolate chip cookies when we arrived. The accommodations were perfect. We enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again. Kudos to Cyndi and Steve. They treated us like family. The accommodations were outstanding.

Couldn't ask for more!

This property was exactly what we were looking for. The rental was immaculately clean and everything we wanted. There are two chairs right next to the river that we enjoyed our wine from every evening. We like staying outside of Durango, and we were only about 10 minutes from town! Cyndi was very responsive to my text messages and a wonderful VRBO host. We will definitely stay here again!

Great home and location

Great home for a stay in Durango!! It is located on the Florida River with a great view you can enjoy from the large porch. Home is exceptionally clean, and the kitchen is very well equipped! The location is a short ride into Durango as well as close to several reservoirs. The host is very welcoming and available for any questions or issues.

We are a family of four that love the outdoors, wildlife and pets. I have lived here since 1995 while my wife has been here since 1989. We were both outdoor guides, exploring the area until we graduated from college here in the late 1990's. We fell in love with the area and decided to raise our kids here. We have lived on this property since it was purchased in 2015. When we bought it, it was definitely a fixer-upper. We have spent the last three years transforming it to the house you see today. We live in the main house but decided to let others share this beautiful part of Colorado with us in the Guest house. It is separate and just as quiet.

This property is our little slice or heaven. While we LOVE Durango, living downtown did not appeal to us. We wanted seclusion, privacy, a place to stretch out and enjoy the wind through the trees
