The property is a historic beach cottage built by the fisherman Wellington Devine in the early 19th century. Back in those days, fisherman need to live close to their boats for the same reasons today. To prevent any catastrophic accident. Thus , fast forward to today ,the cottage retains much of the historic elements that make it a unique property to stay in. There is wifi. Air conditioning and heat . The internet is also available. The keys are in the lockbox on the front door Ma The Hampton Sack is a “no Frills “ vacation accommodation but it is comfortable and enjoyable allowing you to enjoy the beach , sunsets and nearby restaurants

A Good Deal in a Great Area

Quaint Place to Stay

The place was exactly as expected and advertised. A nice place to relax at the end of the day with everything you need to rest and recover. Absolutely lovely location and just an overall great place to get away for a weekend

No frills. Great location

Truly no frills but key things work like heat and internet. Quite small but OK for 2 people.

Cute and cozy, great beach access!

We had a great stay here! It was clean and comfortable, with all the basic things we needed for a few days (good appliances, wifi, a/c, etc). Beach access can't be beat-- the bay beach is a five-minute walk! We also loved Rita Cantina on the corner, and the Springs farmers market on Saturdays. Easy drive to Amagansett/Montauk/East Hampton too. We'd come back any time!

Cosy and Quiet

Although there were some issues when we arrived, they were resolved the next day. Host was very helpful. The home was comfortable and the location was excellent. Beach was within easy walking distance, and it was a quiet neighborhood.

Cizy little cottage on Long Island

This clean charming cottage was located in a comfortable neighborhood close to the coast and many natural areas. Perfect for the two of us that served as a launching pad to explore the Montauk area. The outside seating was not cleaned.

Perfect place - Perfect location

A girlfriend and I stayed in this cozy home for a weekend with nearby friends. It was the perfect space - with two bedrooms, functional kitchen and easy walkable spot for necessities, including Maidstone Park Beach, which we LOVE! The inside of the home was perfect clean, with cozy towels and bedding. The outdoor patio table needed a wipe down as weather happens - no big deal for us! Thankful for the home and access to East Hampton for the price!

Great location

Cute cottage in a beautiful location. The place was clean and there were plenty of towels. Not much room in the main room because of too much furniture but ok for 2 people. Good wifi. Beds were comfortable, water pressure good, nice pots/pans, microwave , dishwasher, toaster, coffeepot and filters, juicer. Old loud A/C that had to be turned on or off by standing on a chair was the negative.

Glamping without the glam

It said no frills however, place hadn’t been cleaned when we checked in. Place was dirty and covered in ants. We checked out early.

I am very surprise at the review from this client. First of all he requested ahead of time to check in and informed him that the beach cottage may not be cleaned. My cleaning crew made it there to clean the cottage and address all issues from this client. and the ants are comon inhabitants in the hamptons , all critters of nature are.< the cottage was schedule ahead of time for it spray treatment for all critters . I informed the client of this but we as owners have no control over the schedule and after the pest control persons finished he sent me an email stating there were no more ants. Some people are not happy unless they are negative.. This is that type of person , Will never rent to him again, I even gave them two complimentary cleaning

Kayak fishing trip

The rental is small but was adequate for our needs. The appliances were in good condition and worked well. There is very little counter space so it's a bit cramped for preparing meals. The beds were very comfortable. The neighborhood is very quiet with little traffic and the neighbors that we met were very friendly. It's close to East Hampton and Amagansett and about 20 minutes from Napeague, where were fishing. There were a few glitches when we first arrived but everything worked out OK. I would definitely stay there again.

We did not have the code to open the key box, when we tried to reach the host, the linked us to “Page Not Found.” Never made direct contact with the host. We scrambled and found a hotel. We are owed a refund.

Dismal dump

I have never left a negative review. However, in this case, I feel a responsibility to caution VRBO clients about the squalid condition of this property. The house was filthy and wreaked of cat urine. There was no hot water, which went unresolved. This was next level negligence and ineptitude.

Lack of Response from Owner

I texted the owner with an issue and received no response. The next day I sent an email, still no response. This property is in need of repair. I'm not going to itemize all the issues, but I feel the owner needs to visit the property and address the issues.

Just don’t.

Broken toilet seat; broken faucet in the shower; grill is unusable, rusted and filthy; broken doors; broken drawers; so much furniture and junk in the house, it’s impossible to move without banging into something. Nowhere to put any of your things. No smoke detector; nowhere to plug anything in; nothing basic for cooking, not even salt and pepper; a table and chairs covered in plastic that are so jammed in around the table and floor full of discarded junk that you can’t even pull out a chair; basically no basics. If this was a place a friend was lending you for free, it would be crappy but it would be free. But instead you are paying for what amounts to a run down motel. You’d be hard pressed to find anywhere to sit down comfortably in this place. DUMP.

Unresponsive

Communication should be zero stars. Tried to reach host the day before and all day long on the day of arrival by phone, text, VRBO message, no response. I had 3 phone numbers, tried them all. Mailboxes full on a couple of them, not a good sign! No code, no check in info. Hoping for the best, I arrived at the property at check-in time, still nothing. We ended up having to find another, much more expensive place to stay. Host finally reached out 45 minutes after check-in time after I assume she received word VRBO was refunding our money? I understand things come up, but two days of non-communication was stress my vacation didn’t deserve. The only bad VRBO experience I’ve ever had. (I rated it average inside, all I got to do was look in the windows.)

Cute and coazy

My friend and I stayed at Felicia's beach cottage this past weekend and it was the perfect cozy spot! It's a five-minute walk to the beach, just around the corner from a hip new Mexican Restaurant, and a short drive from any of the typical Montauk and East Hampton sights that you may want to take in. Some of our highlights were Goldberg's Bagels, Bostwick's Chowder House, Longhouse Reserve, and The Montauk Point Lighthouse.
