Broken AC, Unresponsive Staff, Horrible Check-In Process
I experienced multiple issues at the Wyndham Long Wharf in Newport. First, the property did not let me add multiple names to the reservations, so the guests could not check in early. The reservation was in my name, and when I asked to add another name to the 4-person suite so that my friend could get the key as she was arriving 4 hours earlier than I, I was told that this was not permitted without paying a $129 fee. This was NEVER stated in the booking policy or any time during the booking process. The impact was that a paying customer was locked out of the room for 4 hours.
Additionally, and the worse issue, was that the AC was broken the entire time. I called maintenance 2-3 times, they only showed up one time. The suite was 79 degrees the entire stay, and there was a puddle under the AC unit in the bedroom doorway, so I was forced to walk through this to get into the bedroom. The AC was broken for the duration of my stay, and because of the puddle, the bedroom door was warped and therefore would not close.
I would never recommend staying at a Wyndham property again, and am requesting a refund for how terrible my experience was.
