The room was excellent, the location was great, it was clean and quiet. The bed was really comfortable. The host was very nice on the phone and seemed welcoming and enthusiastic! She was helpful when I accidentally booked the room twice on VRBO and helped me get the refund. It would have been nice to have been greeted in person when we arrived. And it would have been nice to have a dining area available for breakfast instead of having to bring breakfast up to our room on a tray. We did not see the hosts in person at all during our stay. But other than that, the room, the parking and the location were all fantastic!

There are not enough flattering adjectives to describe how much we loved this place. We have stayed in VRBOs far and wide, and this home is just super charming. Wonderful communication with host. From the moment you step onto the porch (we stayed at Admiral Sims' home) and into the entryway, up to the Newport Room which was our space, every single detail is just delightful. The decor in the Newport room is like stepping into a Coastal Living magazine; beautiful and deliberate with beautiful artwork and lighting. We had so much sightseeing to do, but honestly I could have just hung out in this gorgeous space all day & night. The bed is so comfy and the sheets are quite possibly the softest I've ever slept on, including my own. The kitchenette/cupboards are and perfectly arranged with a cute colored Keurig & coffee fixings. Nice little fridge. The small bkfst that is laid out in the morning is just perfect, with small trays to take your things back to your room. The location of this home is perfect for walking about the town. We absolutely ADORED it and if we return to Newport, would for sure stay again. Thank you for a most memorable stay!

We had a lovely stay on Catherine St. for a wedding weekend and the accomodations were excellent. The room was cozy, the bed was very comfortable, and the fireplace and kitchenette were added bonuses. The breakfast was also delicous and enought to fuel us for lots of walking and touring. It was so convenient to be able to park in the inn's lot right in front of the house. We will definitely be back!

Will definitely stay here again!

Spent a long weekend here and will definitely do so again. Great location! Just under a mile into town so we walked the whole weekend. Super close to the cliff walk. Really spacious room, easy check in process (an early check in was accommodated which was greatly appreciated), the baked goods/coffee/fruit in the morning were really nice. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Big room, very quiet and private. For a young couple it is walking distance of everything (beach, bars and stores). Would definitely stay here again!

We booked an overnight at Admiral Sim’s last minute as we wanted a beach getaway for 2 days. We couldn’t be happier about our stay. It was just what we were looking for! It is close to beaches; we had a very nice and spacious room, clean, quiet and the inn keepers were very nice!!! We will definitely book again!

Newport getaway

This house is in a perfect location to walk to everything you want to enjoy in Newport. We parked our car when we arrived and didn't need it again the whole stay. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need to relax and they even serve homemade baked goods for breakfast. This is the second time I have stayed at Admiral Syms house and will definitely be back.

Perfect 4th of July

From the moment that we booked our room until we checked check out, it was flawless. Every attention to detail made our stay so comfortable. We love the location. We could walk to the cliff walk to downtown come to the beach. We will return.

We are the family from Admiral Sims' House on Catherine St and on Mill St which offers Studio and Apartment Rentals. We've been B&B owners since 2000 and just love Newport and these old Victorian houses. Catherine St is a great location and we just finished renovating the rooms to create fresh, clean King studio's with Kitchenette and Fireplace for Newport visitors - long and short term. Hope you like it!
