Welcome to Big Mountain Cabin #2! Enjoy a new custom built experience. This cabin offers an open floor plan with high vaulted ceiling and a custom beam design. Cabin #2 is centrally located in the Black Hills just a few miles south of Rockerville. Many attractions are just a short drive away.
Mount Rushmore - 8 miles
Custer State Park - 12 miles
Michelson Trail - 12 miles
Reptile Gardens - 7 miles
Bear Country USA - 5 miles

Cabin #2 offers a kitchen stocked with dinner ware, pot and pan, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, and outdoor grill. Relax in a bed room that has a custom built queen log bed with a memory foam mattress. It has a fully furnished bathroom that provides a full tub and shower. All linens and towels are provided.

For all you hiking enthusiasts, this cabin is close to many national forest trails including Boulder Hill Mountain Trail. This trail head is 2.2 miles from Cabin #1. And for all you mountain bike enthusiasts, this cabin is 2 miles from Storm Mountain Trail. Storm Mountain trail offers 11.61 miles of pure fun!

- Our cabins are on a hillside and there is only enough parking for one vehicle. If you have a extra vehicle, trailer, or motorcycle please message us before you make your reservation.
- If you are riding on a motorcycle, we ask that you be an experienced rider. The road to this cabin has loose gravel. If you have any questions please message us.

Perfect place for 2

Great location to all sites, very clean and just perfect. Quiet location with everything we needed. We made breakfast each morning before going out sightseeing for the day. Most comfortable bed ever!! Highly recommend!!

Cabin in Black Hills

Our stay was amazing! We had everything we needed and the owners were fantastic. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. We stayed for a week on our anniversary. The cabins are located in a perfect area for exploring the black hills. If you are considering, do not hesitate.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cute little cabin. Very clean, well equipped with everything we needed and more. Centrally located between all the sites we planned on visiting while in the area. The owner communicated well throughout our stay and was so friendly. Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the Black Hills.

A great cabin to stay in Rapid City South Dakota

What a beautiful cabin and perfect location. So close from Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. Such an ease of transaction from the owner and it was perfect. Later found out they built it so makes it even more special and it has everything you’ll need. If we come back to the area we will be staying here again. Thank you.

The cabin was clean and accessible to local roads.

The bed was amazing and it was close to lots of attractions. Beautiful cabin. Only drawback is if you're unsteady on your feet as some rocks are used as steps and they are uneven.

Wonderful place to stay!

Jenn was very easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed! The cabin was clean and beautifully made with amenities that made it feel a little more like home. Very convenient to stay here with it being a central location for all the touristy things in the area. We loved having this home away from home to make our breakfast in the mornings and come back to our cabin in the woods after a day of adventuring!

Perfection

From checking in (zero hassles) to cleanliness, amenities, location and communication, this was a phenomenal place to stay! My wife and I met owner on a walk, so so much fun to chat with. During stay, several texts to make sure we had all we needed! Location was perfect for our needs daily! I would stay again!

Clean, Comfortable and Beautiful

The cabin was clean, beautiful and in the perfect location. I don’t have anything negative to say. Our hosts were very nice when I mistakenly had the wrong checkout date. They allowed me to stay long enough to get everything packed up and moved out and didn’t charge me any extra.

Very enjoyable, the cabin was cute and easily accessible from everything we wanted to see. The only negative was I had to keep asking for towels. There were 2 of us staying for 5 nites and there were only 3 towels provided. So I had to keep asking for towels.

Beautiful cabin, Great location

The Cabin was beautiful, functional, and very clean. We loved the rustic design. The property and facilities are well maintained. The surrounding scenery was perfect and allows you to take in the beauty of the Black Hills. The hospitality of our host was top notch ! Our host was accessible and able to handle questions or requests promptly. My wife and I were in the Black Hills for vacation and this location was a perfect place to access points of interest in the Black Hills area. I would definitely recommend Big Mountain Cabins !

Everything went like clockwork! Directions were clear in location of property and the cabin was all it was advertised to be. This was our first experience with VRBO and we will definitely do this again!

Jude and Jenn are the owners and operators of Big Mountain Cabins. Jude is a skilled log home builder, and has been building log homes for 30 years. In fact Jude built each cabin from the ground up. Jenn has experience in hotel management and a degree in Business administration. Both took their talents and built Big Mountain Cabins. Jude and Jenn have lived in the Black Hills for a good part of their lives. Jenn is actually a fifth generation to live in the Black Hills. A fun fact is the cabins are located a mile from where Jenn's great great grandparents homestead. Jude and Jenn are proud to call the Black Hills their home!
