Why The Big Island: We have visited Hawaii many times. Of all the islands, the Big Island is our favorite. The Big Island is less commercialized, and there is a greater variety of things to do and see. To name a few, Volcano National Park is a must see, the Japanese gardens, the banyan trees on Banyan Drive, jungle gardens and amazing waterfalls, pele’s lava; black, white, and green sand beaches and; at times lava flowing into the ocean near Kalapana.
Why the Hilo area: While we like the Kailua Kona area on the west side, we enjoy the lushness and beauty of the eastern side more. The eastern side is a tropical beauty and the ocean is majestic. Paradise Pali Kai is ocean front in a quiet residential neighborhood in Keaau, about 20 minutes outside Hilo. Thanks to the excellent road system, travel to the western, southern, and northern ends of the island is an easy drive from Keaau.
The Unique Benefits of this House: First, the house and views are simply stunning. The magic of the location is how close the house and lanai are to the ocean and the waves. The waves break directly on the lava cliffs IN THE BACKYARD. It is dramatic to view from the lanai, “great room”, and master bedroom, all of which are on the second floor facing the ocean. Every room upstairs and downstairs, has a view of the ocean.
