New for 2025: This is now a linen ready house (no need to bring/rent sheets or towels) with new decking/porch, stairs, windows and siding.

Berner Breezes is a lovely second row home on the East End of Sunset Beach. Enjoy the easy rhythm of island living in this beach home. A combination of wood and earthy tones throughout create a warm and inviting setting. The kitchen is well-stocked with all the pots/pans, dishes, etc. you could possibly need and includes both a Keurig (bring your favorite pods) and a traditional coffee maker. The home includes wi-fi with a large flat screen TV in the family room along with additional televisions in each of the bedrooms. Each TV has a streaming device so you can connect with your favorite apps. Enjoy the sun and sounds of the ocean from either the oversized screened porch or from the large sun deck on the second floor.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor that share a full bath. The second floor has two additional bedrooms as well as two full bathrooms. In addition, the large bonus room is currently utilized as a 5th bedroom. Linens will be provided for all.

Interior amenities include a washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, central heat & air, 6 color TVs, DVD player, WIFI & ceiling fans. Outside amenities include a charcoal grill, outside shower, fish cleaning station, sun deck and screened porch. Beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys are also included.

Please note this home is Non-Smoking and Not Pet Friendly. While we understand the idea of a full family vacation, we ask that you leave Fido and Fluffy at home.

Great location & house!

Great trip with large family. Couple of beach umbrellas / tents were broken so not enough shade for our large group but would stay here again for sure!

Great beach house

This house is a great location. Everything about this property, from the booking, to location (very close to beach walkway), cleanliness, is 5 stars. The only reason that it was given 4 stars overall was that we had to provide our own linens. Even toilet paper and paper towels were provided. If linens would have been provided, it would definitely be 5 stars across the board.

Perfect location

The house is a quick walk across the street to the beach access. Great screened front porch for morning coffee or evening relaxing. Host was quick to answer and remedy some minor issues. Roomy for a group. Fully stocked kitchen.

Perfect beach week!!

Thank you Lauren for your quick responses and sharing your beautiful home with us! We loved the open brightness, the perfect location to the beach but our whole family especially loved the large screened porch, from my 1 year old granddaughter to my 91 year old Mom. It was definitely a memorable family get together!

Perfect Porch!

Having stayed in Scuttlebutt many moons ago, we were anxious about this property. LOTS of improvements since then (including the name)! All 10 of us were comfortable in the great beds and there were lots of blankets and pillows to choose from. The bathrooms were adequate and the kitchen fully stocked. The best part of the house was definitely the large screened in porch with all the furniture and great ceiling fans. We would certainly love to rent this again!

Sunset Beach Summer 2022

The home was exactly as advertised including the large and welcoming porch. Our party included 3 families with 2 small children requiring utilisation of all bedrooms, bathrooms, (including downstairs shower), kitchen and living areas - all clean, comfortable and well appointed. We contacted Lauren a few times to address minor items and she was very responsive, kind and fair. We highly recommend this rental and will be back.

Family vacation a success

Throughly enjoyed our vacation. Lauren was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend family and friends to rent this property. Only suggestion would be for housekeeping to improve on ensuring they check all refrigerators as well as under beds as we found open soda can and opened bag of crackers under bed. House had a musty smell upon arrival. However, it did fade prior to checking out. Again, Lauren was a pleasure to rent from.

The cleanliness of the property was not the best. Used paper towels were left on the front porch, previous guest’s clothes were in the top dresser drawer, the tables on the porch were covered in sticky drink rings that we had to wipe down, stains on the armrest of the inside lounge chair, etc.

Everything that's right about Sunset Beach

The house was perfect for our young family. We had our 3 boys as well as 2 grandparents and the space was what we needed. Comfy beds, spacious living and eating areas with a big table, enough bathrooms and everything was spotless when we arrived. The only thing that would've made it better was beach chairs provided by the house. It was made clear in the listing that they weren't provided, but this is a rarity with rental homes in our experience. That's minutiae though and truly just a suggestion, it didn't have a large impact on our stay. Lauren was responsive to questions, check in and check out were seamless. Thank you for another great week at Sunset!

The best beach vacation

Lauren is an absolute top tier host. My family has been coming to this house for years (under previous owners), and we were so excited to see this listed again. You can tell the property is well loved and cared for, and the amenities help you feel right at home. We ran into a slight issue during our stay, but Lauren was so on top of it, you really can’t ask for more from a host. Her communication is top notch, and she made sure everything was taken care of so we felt minimal impact. It’s easy for a host to be amazing when everything goes right, but the true test is how they handle any sort of hiccups, and Lauren is the best. We even had someone in our group forget some clothes in a drawer post departure and we were so lucky to have Lauren to coordinate picking them up with. When it comes to the house itself, the rooms, location and access to the beach is the best. Plenty of space for the whole crew and my favorite place is the full screened in front porch. The kitchen is fully stocked and very easy to access plenty of restaurants. We cannot wait to come back again asap!

Great location and layout

We’ve stayed in handfuls of island rentals at SB....even several neighboring ones. Pros: The location is exactly where we like to be. Layout of home was nice. Kitchen was roomier than most homes of this type with all the things we needed. Lots of drink ware and dishes. The screened porch was awesome and nicely furnished. Outdoor shower was large. Bathrooms are updated. Owner thought to provide power strips by beds so we weren’t searching for outlets. Nightlights were there which was great for getting up at night. Things to improve: The mattresses were a bit of a letdown. We tried the king but it was saggy. We opted for the queen upstairs and it was only slightly better. I ended up on the couch one night. The bedding seems quite worn, faded and tired. The storm door was hard to close and the wind has probably given it some issues. The outdoor shower could use some improvement in regards to privacy. Nearby homes can get a little too much of a view from decks.

Perfect getaway!

Perfect getaway for us, 7 adults going on a fishing trip. Great location within feet to the public beach access and 15 minutes from the charter. The house was spacious and well stocked with everything we needed. Minus a little hicup with the new digital lock, everything went smoothly. The owner was super quick to respond in fixing the lock issue and we had no other problems while there. I may have misunderstood the original listing, but if you plan to grill...Bring Charcoal. It is not a propane grill. Not an issue though as stores are super close. I would highly recommend this rental and would stay again.
