Royal Estes

Summary:

Welcome to Royal Estes! This two story, 2500 square foot home has it all. A private pool, canal frontage, a dock you can fish from, a lighted fish cleaning station. Located in City by the Sea, you are just a short boat ride away from world class flats fishing. Royal Estes can accommodate up to 18 guests. Upstairs is the main living area, two dining areas, a fully stocked kitchen, and a wet bar. The master bedroom has a king bed, its own bathroom and access to the balcony.



The Space:

The second bedroom has two queen beds. The third has a king bed and access to the balcony. The second and third bedroom share the second bathroom.

Downstairs is the fourth bedroom with a king bed and it has access to the covered patio. A large bonus room downstairs serves as a fifth sleeping quarter and has two more queen beds and two queen size futons that can do double duty as beds. You can access the patio from here as well. The third bathroom is downstairs. Both the balcony and patio have multiple seating areas and wonderful views of the pool and canal. There is a covered, lighted, designated grill area with a huge charcoal BBQ grill where you can grill the days catch. You will also enjoy the large, waterfront fire pit, a great spot to unwind with a cool beverage. Come and make new memories that will last a lifetime with friends and family at Royal Estes today!

Guest Access:

Guests will have access to the entire two-story home, including the private pool, canal frontage, and dock. Feel free to fish from the dock and use the lighted fish cleaning station. Enjoy the upstairs living area with two dining areas, a fully stocked kitchen, and a wet bar. Both balconies are accessible, offering wonderful views of the pool and canal. Downstairs, you'll find a covered patio with multiple seating areas. There's also a covered, lighted grill area with a charcoal BBQ grill and a waterfront fire pit for your enjoyment.

Nestled in the heart of City-by-the Sea, Royal Estes offers unparalleled access to the best the area has to offer. Just a short drive or boat ride away, you'll find world-class flats fishing, perfect for anglers of all skill levels. Explore local shops and boutiques for unique souvenirs, or indulge in fresh seafood at nearby restaurants. Enjoy a leisurely stroll along the waterfront, taking in the stunning coastal views. With its prime location, Royal Estes provides a perfect base for exploring the charm and beauty of City-by-the Sea.



Getting Around:

Getting around Royal Estes is easy! Free parking is available on the premises for all guests. For those flying in, Corpus Christi International Airport (CRP) is approximately a 45-minute drive away. While City-by-the Sea is best explored by car, ride-sharing services are readily available. Public transportation options are limited, so we recommend having your own vehicle or utilizing ride-sharing services to explore the surrounding areas and attractions.



Other Things to Note:

Please note: Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability. This is a non-smoking property, and pets are not allowed. Guests have access to free parking on the premises. Please be mindful of noise levels, especially during evening hours. The BBQ grill is available for guest use; please clean it after each use. Enjoy the waterfront fire pit, but please use it responsibly. The house was good for a family vacation of 17. The pool was small, but fun. The canal was good for some fishing or just a water view. Check in and out was easy. Kitchen had enough to make meals. We would stay here again.

Family Weekend

We enjoyed the pool, swimming in the canal, gathering around the large table in the living area, and all the outdoor seating areas that were perfectly situated so very little sun was ever on us. The beach was nearby and had lots of free parking with easy access. It was a great stay for 10 in our family!

Good Times

Check in was a breeze! The kids enjoyed the pool and fishing off the dock. We enjoyed gatherings and making s’mores at the fire pit at night. Plenty of space for the family. Some of the doors were hard to open and close but overall a great property.

Fishing Tournament

Nice to stay where we could dock the boat and enjoy the pool and grilling area and balcony. It is very easy to hit your head on the kitchen stove vent, lots of stairs.

We loved the house, it was very roomy and the pool was great. I would more than likely come back again. The property manager stayed in contact with me through the entire process. Wonderful customer service. 🤗

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house allows for lots of room for a large family. Love the pool. We grilled three times and enjoyed the outside areas. Location is a quick drive to all the area has to offer, and a quick boat ride too! Kitchen is tight, and my tall people each had at least one turn hitting the corner of the hood vent, one drew blood!

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property has an excellent location for fishing, and a very nice outdoor yard and environment. As advertised. What is not properly advertised is the very poor condition of the home inside. It is large and does sleep 18. But the master bath has loose tile on the floor that was never glued down, master bath shower is plastic insert that I have seen in RVs, there is a hole in the wall in the other large room. Wall facing the kitchen is unfinished with plaster not even sanded down, the kitchen is TINY. Two large me can barley work in the kitchen at the same time. Paint worn all over the home. This is a good project home that probably needs $150k for a make over. Great for 5 guys that just want to fish and don't care about interior condition. But this is not a luxury home, and not a place to bring entire families that actually want to stay in a nice home.

Mediocre

First, I’m used to staying in Key Allegro, so please view through that lens. The location is good unless you want to experience restaurants etc in the main parts of Rockport. The house was clean enough. I’ve never left a bad review on VRBO, and that is not my intent but I do appreciate others’ reviews when choosing a house so I want to share my thoughts since the photos don’t capture everything. The owners put forth effort to make the house nice, but cut corners in the remodel process. I’m not even sure it’s up to code - extremely steep interior stairs, exposed wall outlets and the best part, a stainless oven hood that sticks out in an already very narrow passage that is frankly dangerous. All our guests hit their head on the corner of it. The kitchen is TINY! Two people struggled to cook in the unusually small space - you can’t tell from the photos online. The floor elevation has tiny step ups or step downs that will trip you up. The big master doesn’t have an en suite bath. And there is nearly nothing in the kitchen such as hand soap, etc. Bring everything. The shower looks like one of those cheap plastic showers that you’d find in an RV.. all fine, but the price point should reflect the quality of the house. Mold residue is visible, which I understand with the heat and humidity. Plenty of parking! Poor HVAC design with inconsistent temps. Overall not terrible but certainly needs investment, renovation and some TLC.

PROPERTY DOES NOT RECEIVE PROPER CARE/ MAINTENANCE!!

Extremely dirty property. Seems like the only thing they changed/cleaned were the towels. No one informed us upon arrival that the pool was not safe to get in. Pool guy came out and said there was NO CHLORINE. He even said we shouldn’t be swimming in it. Although they reimbursed for the inconvenience, it wasn’t a fair amount as it caused our kids to have ear infections, and a big reason why we booked was for the pool and was not able to use it on half our trip. Tiles around the pool and stairs were very slippery. We almost slipped a few times. THREE out of their five or six TV’s did NOT work. Grass was long, they did not have yard work done upon arrival. We bought brisket to smoke in the smoker as they had shown in their property images. They got rid of it and never updated their pictures. Their fishing pier feels very shaky. The planks were coming up.One of their check out instructions was to have the boat lift up before leaving. Their boat lift looks like it had been in the water for months. If you plan to bring your boat, be sure to ask them first!They do not respond to messages in a timely manner. Worse rental property I’ve ever stayed in. They do not put in proper care for this house. They definitely do not have the right to charge a cleaning fee as it obviously does not get the maintenance it needs. In my opinion, this property shouldn’t be allowed to be rented out. I will never rent from this rental company again.

The pool is a good size for small kids, its not that big. The house was nice, but was not the cleanness. It did have alot of dust, the bottom rooms did have mold on the ceilings. Overall the area is nice, and we still had a great time, the canal was a plus for fishing. The bbq pit shown on the picture is different, its just a regular bbq pit. Lots of beds for a big family.

Fishing access to the canal was good. Although the house needs some upkeep. We ran into a few things, house was not cleaned to good. Needs some maintenance. We had to call for dining door not opening. Maintenance came to replace door know. We also informed him of there being dirty underwater hanging in closet,threshold in 2nd bedroom loose, we tripped over it, old molded coffee grounds in pot. Oven dirty,Bbq pit was filthy which we cleaned, dead and live cockroches. Maintenance was very nice and friendly. Our hostes Nina was very nice and accommodating to our needs even prior to our arrival,thank you. We had a great time at this location, would definitely recommend staying here.

It was a beautiful location. Unfortunately weather was not cooperating the week we were there. The house had plenty of space for all of us. We felt it was in need of some improvements. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Amazing stay!

My family enjoyed all the amenities along with locations of activities near us. We enjoyed the pool while we barbecued, enjoyed the atmosphere of the location by the water for fishing along with plenty of space for my family. We look forward to staying again for our yearly beach vacation!
