2 Bedroom/2 Bath - Melrose Beach!

The Porch Perfect Villa has been a popular and beloved Daufuskie vacation home for some time.

This villa is supported by JonBie Maisons staff who will help from the moment you make an inquiry to helping with boat and ground transportation logistics. It is necessary to take a ferry or water taxi to Daufuskie, and Guests should plan on approximately $75/person for boat and grounds transport expenses.

A golf cart is included with your booking and addition carts are available at discounted rate for JonBie Guests. Information will be provided upon booking. ABSOLUTELY NO GAS CARTS PERMITTED AT THIS VILLA and Carts are NOT to be used for hauling luggage, groceries, coolers, etc.

Kissed by the sunrise each morning, this penthouse villa is located on Daufuskie’s Avenue of Oaks and is in a location that provides an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean and the Melrose beach. The villa’s screened-in front porch spans the width of the villa and provides a variety of seating arrangements for relaxation and quality family times. Enjoy your morning coffee while the sun slowly rises over the ocean…and finish the day with a cocktail and immersed in spanish moss, ocean breezes - all while listening to the waves lap the shores.

THE ISLAND

Most of our visitors also take time to get to know the rest of this special island. Those who do quickly realize that they have discovered a hidden island gem just a short boat ride from the mainland. Quiet, laid-back, and unique, beautiful Daufuskie is described by old-timers as similar to Hilton Head before a bridge connected that island with the mainland. (Daufuskie's unofficial slogan is 'No Bridge? No Problem!’)

NOTE: This is a 3rd floor Villa and there is no elevator to this villa, although there is a lift for luggage and coolers.

The villa includes a well-appointed and open floor plan with comfortable sofas and a 55” smart TV and cable options. And there's a working gas fireplace for chilly winter nights! The fully equipped kitchen and dining table are ready for family meals. The first master bedroom features a king sized bed with adjoining full bath; and the second master has two queen size beds and its own ensuite bath. Each bedroom has its own smart TV.

Perhaps the best thing about this villa is its location, location, location! You are a one minute walk to the beautiful Melrose beach. The owners have thoughtfully provided beach chairs, beach toys, an umbrella and a wagon to enhance your beach experience.

Behind the villa building are gas grills for your use.

Great Place to Stay

Communication with the property manager was great. Transportation was waiting when we arrived and took us to the villa. The property was clean and as pictured. Perfect locaton to the beach. Enjoyed our stay and had a great time.

Great view and an all around peaceful stay

Property manager was very informative and helpful at check in. Property was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Had a great stay. Only problem was it was to short of a trip.

Absolutely Lovely!

This condo was very clean, just couple minutes walk to beach and property managers went above and beyond. We would definitely book here again. One of the best VRBO properties we’ve stayed at and we have stayed at dozens! You won’t be disappointed.

Nice and Quiet

Good place to stay for the Daufuskie Marathon. Bring food and books. Other than the race, not much going on in January on the island. Quiet and nice!

Great Location

My family and I had a wonderful vacation on Daufuskie Island! This is our third vacation on the island and our second stay with these property managers. Melrose is our favorite location to stay and with the Melrose pool/restaurant/store open, it makes it even better. This is great for grabbing eggs or bread if you run out because it’s so convenient. Not to mention that the view is so pretty. The property managers are awesome help and quick to respond when you have questions. Daufuskie Island is one of our favorite places to visit.

Spring Break Family Vacation

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Porch Perfect. The Villa was very clean and decorated so well. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with all dinnerware, cookware and utensils. Plenty of towels in both bathrooms. The rental also included beach towels and beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, beach wagon), which was wonderful to not have to bring on the ferry! Mr Kurt was also wonderful in explaining the island and giving us tips for a great stay on Daufuskie. This was our first visit to Daufuskie and we absolutely LOVED it! We loved the laid back atmosphere! And we loved traveling by golf cart everywhere (which the rental included!). The vegetation on the island is like out of a movie or novel! Truly a magical vacation and we will definitely be back!

Wonderful property and great location.

1) Place was spotless - cleaned meticulously. 2) location - perfect, one block to the beach 3) transport - the supplied golf cart is a must and a huge saving 4) support - Kurt was our Jonbie contact and the guy was awesome. Very responsive and helpful. He checks you in personally and gives you tips and advice. Always available if you need him. 5) pet friendly - which was important for us. Even had a doggie bed supplied (nice touch). 6) the island - definitely a unique experience. If you like chill, this is the place. If you want excitement then I suggest you keep your visit short. Recommendation: we stayed 7 days and for us (you might differ) this was too long and got really boring (especially for my teenage daughter). 3-4 days would have been ideal. Overall the property and Jonbie’s setup was ideal and top notch - probably one of the BEST VRBOs I’ve used. Do your research but definitely worth a visit. If you go, get a Jonbie Maison’s property.

Beautiful Property steps from the beach.

If you stay on Daufuskie Island we just love this area. It is the old Melrose reaourt and most of the cottages have been renovated with top notch material and amenities. So quiet and relaxing.

We love Daufuskie!

Our stay was great! The screen in porch is so nice and allows for you to enjoy your nights away from bugs and allows your pet to have some freedom. The Melrose beach was a quick walk, which was great for morning strolls. The whole process was of check in and out was very smooth and easy. The golf cart rental included in the price was awesome and allowed us to have a stress free time not having to return any rental carts or etc. We hope to be back soon! We already miss it!

Top tier!

Great hospitality! I highly recommend staying at this location/condo. Tammy and her husband were absolutely great and were able to meet each of our wants and needs especially when it came to the golf cart and beach accessories! The place was gorgeous with beautiful views of the beach off the screen enclosed patio. Great for multiple families or a big family but we very much enjoyed the space with just the two of us.

Pure Relaxation and Bliss

We absolutely adored this villa and our trip to Daufuskie this past week. We always enjoy our time on the island. But this was the first time we'd stayed at Melrose. So we had a bit of trepidation about it. Now we know not to worry. Melrose is a lovely area! We really enjoyed being so close to the rookery, so we can check up on the egrets, storks, herons and of course, the gators! Not all views are the same at Melrose. So try to make sure you've got a decent view. You could be looking at the ocean or you could be looking at a dilapidated house. We practically lived on the porch. So we really enjoyed the lights and the amazing ocean view of this condo. We can't wait to come back!

Great stay!

We were very satisfied with the Villa. It is accurately described and fairly priced since the cart is included. Not having to bring beach chairs, beach towels or umbrellas was great and really helped lighten our load over and back. When considering whether to reserve this listing, be sure to note that it is on the top floor and there are a couple flights of stairs to climb. There is a lift that can be utilized to get your luggage and heavy items up, but otherwise no elevator. This was not a problem for us particularly but a little tiring especially when taking a dog in and out frequently to potty. There was an incident with the family in a neighboring villa complaining about a dog barking. My pup was blamed initially although there were dogs in 2 other villas that were the actual barkers. Tammy came down to investigate after the second complaint and was able to see for herself and address the issue with the right people. I appreciate her resolving things. One should consider the closeness of the villas if you have a noisy dog, or group. If so, you will want to look for a different rental location instead.

Absolutely Perfect

This property is amazing! Great location and provided everything we needed for the week. We cooked a lot of our meals and the kitchen is well stocked. Bed were comfy and a lot of extras that made the trip. Great selection of books and games too. My 4 boys ages 18-21 rode the bikes and golf cart all over the island! We also had our 2 year old goldendoodle with us and he may have had more fun than any of us! Our first trip to Daufuskie was wonderful and we will definitely be back and using JonBie!

Wow what a view!

We do a girls trip every year and we absolutely loved this location and island!! This unit had the most amazing views from its beautiful porch and we had so much fun cruising in the golf cart!!
