This beautiful home is situated in the South Hills, a quaint neighborhood of Charleston, West Virginia. Within walking distance are parks, restaurants, coffee and trails for walking or jogging. Less than 5 minutes from downtown as well as major shopping areas, the airport, local hospitals and the University, this home is perfectly located for your stay in West Virginia.

Charming and Quiet

Lovely old house with character, beautiful woodwork, and a fresh feel. It’s a place that feels like home as soon as you walk in. Our whole party was comfortable, and the multiple living spaces (bedrooms, basement, bonus sun room with a day bed) gave everyone plenty of room. Gorgeous porch, comfortable beds, clean and tidy bathrooms—we just loved it! Quick drive to the Civic Center and an incredibly quiet neighborhood. The host was very responsive and helpful. We would love to stay here again!

Great house in Charleston!

I stayed with a group of old college girlfriends and it was the perfect house for us! Very accommodating with many kitchen gadgets and appliances. There was plenty of space for the five of us in living spaces and in beds. I could see how also this would be great for a family as well because there were a lot of kid friendly features as well, like a bath tub, toy/games and high chair/bedding accommodation. Great host that responded very quickly! If ever meeting up near Charleston again we will definitely stay here! Thanks again!

Beautiful house, convenient location

The house is just as pictured, well stocked, and comfortable for a family! We enjoyed walking to the stores and restaurants on the hill, as well as the short drive to anywhere in Charleston. We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable family home

We enjoyed our stay. The home was clean and well appointed and the owner responsive. Our oversize vehicle struggled with the parking, but that's not unusual for us. Our kids loved the ping pong table.

Felt like Home

We absolutely loved our stay in your lovely home. Clean, beautiful sunrise views, great location for walking to spectacular restaurants! We all felt so at home and at the risk of sounding a little “woowoo”, the house holds such great energy. The specialness was palpable. ❤️

Wild and Wonderful HOG Rally

This location is ideal for getting around town and the interstate. This charming house was well supplied and the bedrooms can accommodate 6-8 people easily. The driveway slopes and the garage can provide shelter for motorcyles however the driveway needs patching.

Lovely house!

This is great house, just a short drive away from downtown. Very well kept for its age and equipped with everything you need for a stay in Charleston. Just note: the second bathroom/shower is located on the main floor and very small. We didn’t have too much trouble parking our vehicles despite their size, but it could get tight with more than 2.

Fantastic house in a great location

Beautifully maintained home in a nice quiet neighborhood. House was well appointed with everything you need and so peaceful. I sat out on the front porch on Sunday morning watching the squirrels and the birds and totally enjoyed the tranquility. Overall just a fabulous place and I would recommend highly!

Oh my what a driveway!

Beautiful house, wonderful linens and extras. Clean except for the one thing I continually find left untouched...under the couch cushions. I had to vacuum at check in because there were various small objects and large pieces of food under the cushions. I left the area behind for the cleaning person, there are things behind as well. Also, the double recliner is broken so don't use it unless you plan to crawl underneath it to get it closed. To say the driveway behind the house is difficult would be an understatement. Anything smaller than a Ford Explorer will not have trouble...bigger, well good luck with that! The two showers in the house appear to have previously been closets judging by the size...very small. Overall it's a beautiful house that's at least 104 yrs old. Very well taken care of!

Family Reunion

We were in WV for a Family Reunion and stayed in 2 of Derrick’s homes. The homes were convenient for the reunion and to activities in Charleston. Homes were furnished nicely, well stocked and clean. We would definitely recommend these homes but you must be able to handle stairs. The host is very quick to respond and we were pleased with our experience.

Really Nice Stay

I was in town with a friends group to play an location based game (kind of like Pokemon Go, but not.) Everyone was very impressed with the house. It was clean, charming, and in a nice location. The only complaint we had was about access to the house, and that wasn't the fault of the owners. The city decided to tear up the street, and unless you had a taller carriage car, your cars undercarriage got scraped up. However, once parked it was quite pleasant. Everyone made a point to tell me how much they loved the house.

This house is absolutely beautiful! We fell in love with the charming vintage details right away. The property was easy to access and the host provided excellent directions and instructions. Great Home for family stay

Had a great stay with family in Charleston for a wedding. Lots of meals, cards and conversations around the large dining table and out on the covered porch. Kitchen has everything you would need.

Great property

We’ve stayed at Derek & Angela’s other South Hills property and were so impressed with how well stocked and clean it was. I had high expectations for this property as well and it did not disappoint. It was beautifully decorated, well stocked, and very clean. I do suggest that you look into replacing or tightening the doorknobs. Some of the doors were sometimes difficult to open or close.

Well-stocked house

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful home! While we didn’t cook a meal during our stay we noticed that the kitchen was more well-stocked than any rental home we’ve used before.

Great amenities and very clean

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We stayed down the road from my grandparent’s house and used this as extra sleeping space. Everything was clean and the amenities provided were far above par. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
