The only thing that could prevent me from staying there again is there is no access to the pool that is right in the backyard. The villa was nice in a great area. Ocean view and peaceful setting.

The thing to know about this unit is it sits directly in front of the pool we don’t have access to. So that was kind of a bummer. But, the pool is very nicely landscaped, and while we were there in April, it wasn’t terribly busy.

The host was excellent with communication. Everything was in working order when we arrived. Plenty of dishes and cups. We did not use much of anything provided though! The beds were perfect for laying down after a long day of sun. We loved the balconies and would absolutely stay here again.

The master bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom was very small, not confortable to get ready in, door was in the way of the vanity! Had to go down stairs to 1/2 bath to get ready. Won’t be staying in those Villa’s again. YOU ALSO HEAR YOUR NEIGHBORS, very annoying!

We’ve stayed in the Duck Key villas via Vrbo many times, about eight weeks over the last two years, but this unit was truly awful.The problems were everywhere. The toilet didn’t flush reliably; we only got it working occasionally. The tub drain was clogged with hair and had to be cleaned, by us. The refrigerator barely worked, and when it did, it dripped water over all our food, which then refroze and stuck to everything. The coffee maker was broken and barely functional, and the toaster didn’t work at all, though the property manager did drop off a new one during our stay. The dishwasher tray is broken, and the drawer beneath the oven is coming off the front. The bathroom door wouldn’t latch reliably. We found live roaches inside, and lizards were coming in through an opening near the front door.For the price we paid, the condition of this property is below any standard that should be acceptable to anyone. What stood out just as much was that the property manager didn’t seem particularly concerned about any of it.We’ve stayed at “Frankeys” properties many times and always had a good experience, but this was a week to forget and after this, I’m not sure we’ll be back to any of the villas.Best part was this, new renters were arriving same afternoon we left, nothing would be fixed, the place might be cleaned up, a little. Duck Key is a struggling property and Hawks Key resort is dying. Management by abdication like this is why, go elsewhere!

Great but some helpful info

The unit is clean and in a great location Please be aware that the pool shown on the site is not accessible by VRBO renters. Having been to Duck Key many times we were aware. It just seems they should mention that. Also the unit is small perfect for 2 or 3 people other units at Hawks Cay are much more spacious but for the price it worked for us. The property manager Frank was great

Duck Key

Overall it was decent place to stay in a fairly quiet location, beautiful view, and close to several beaches and good restaurants. However, the property could use some updating - a fresh coat of paint, a deep clean, broken blinds, kitchen cabinet door falling off… Also no hot pads or kitchen towels, not enough pillows, upstairs patio fan could use a light, and no laundry detergent available but asked that we start a load of towels before we checked out. Finally, be sure to remember your elected door code. We chose it months before our trip, and had no reminder or any type of check in instructions in anticipation of our arrival.

Nice location but not as much to do as others Keys

First, Frank was a great host. Very responsive when I reached out to him. The furniture in the townhouse was a little “tired” and with a slight investment the silverware and utensils could have helped provide a better dining experience. But it’s a rental so no big deal. The Hawks Cay people spent the better part of the week changing the access lock on the pool so it would be very difficult to access unless you have a wrist band from them. I guess these townhomes were previously owned by Hawks Cay? Im not sure. That said, we spent the better part of our time popping down to marathon because there were so many more activities, beaches, grocery stores, etc. down there. Overall it was a nice visit, the townhouse was comfortable for our needs and The Keys are a lovely place to visit.

La casa con mucho confor, el lugar bello, pero no pudimos disfrutar de nada a nuestro alrededor. La piscina al fondo de nuestra terraza, no teniamos acceso, el Hotel igual. Las unicas distracciones eran sin acceso. Todo el tiempo mirando TV. Creo que para futuros inquilinos debe hacerse la observacion, que la renta es solo para descansar.

We loved staying at the villa. It has been well kept and is cozy for up to 6 people. They should update their sofa bed and dishwasher has rust in it. I was able to communicate any concerns and did enjoy ourselves in our first vacation after Pandemic.
