Mountain Meadows

A 4-bedroom luxury cabin at 8,950 feet, 5-10 minutes away from Purgatory ski resort that will warmly accommodate up to 14 guests. Whether you're looking to hit the slopes or relax in the hot tub with views of the Rocky Mountains, this stunning property on 4 acres nestled in the San Juan National Forest on Old Lyme Creak Road has it all. Surrounded by Aspen trees, this home is a great place to take in the beauty of the area, especially the changing fall colors.

You will have access to the entire property which includes 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a hot tub, 3 wood-burning fireplaces, and stunning views. Details on each of the bedrooms are listed for your convenience:

Master Suite (second floor) - King bed with fireplace and private master bath with large soaking tub
Bedroom 2 (second floor) - King bed with private bathroom and private balcony
Bedroom 3 (ground floor) - Queen bed with shared full bathroom
Bedroom 4 (ground floor) - Twin bunk bed with shared full bathroom
Queen Sofa Sleeper (ground floor living room)
Loft - 2 twin beds plus twin trundle overlooking living room

Other amenities included in the property include an air hockey table, barbecue, gas fire pit on the balcony, and fully stocked kitchen. An RV pad is available for parking an RV or trailer (summer months only). Please contact us first if you plan to bring an RV or trailer.

The property is 5-10 minutes away from Purgatory Ski Resort and as an added benefit to our guests, you can receive discounts on ski and snowboard equipment rentals (excluding certain holidays) as well as Jeep tours, ATV rentals, and more.

Interested in more outdoor activities? This cabin is located a few miles away from beautiful Colorado lakes and trails, perfect for the novice or experienced hiker. You can visit the waterfalls of Lime Creek, the high-altitude Spud Lake, or hiking tails between Durango and Silverton.

Looking to explore nearby Colorado towns? Historic downtown Durango is only a 30-40 minute drive with access to all that Durango has to offer including local breweries, fantastic restaurants, and charming shops. Two more Colorado towns Silverton and Ouray are the perfect day trips for those wanting to explore the Rockies.

Important Requirements:
-4 Wheel or All-Wheel Drive WITH snow tires or snow chains is mandatory for access to this home in winter due to the plentiful Rocky Mountain snow - There are no exceptions, please feel free to contact us with any questions.
-This home is dog friendly. Approved Dogs are allowed with a non-refundable fee per pet based on size/type. Please let us know about your pet(s) when inquiring or making your reservation. Additional restrictions apply including crating, leashing, and other rules for the safety of your pet and the care of our home. Please inquire if needed for more details ahead of booking.

Our family stayed her for a week over the Christmas holidays. This property is truly outstanding and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. The kitchen is centrally located and fully stocked. Plenty of room to spread out. The views were to die for and the peace and quit was just as wonderful.. Best part of all? The fireplace and views in the master bedroom. When we come back for some slope time we will be staying here. And yes, chains are necessary if it snows a good deal. We had them but didn't need them, however, if we had left about one hour later we would have due to snow fall. Love this home!

True luxury mountain experience

The house was beautiful, comfortable, perfect for us a group adults. The views are amazing! We got to experience snow falling. It felt as if we were in A movie. Will definitely come back and recommend.

Wonderful summer vacation

The photos & descriptions were very accurate, no surprises. Everything was very easy from checking in, accessing the Wi-Fi, to the checkout instructions. The accommodations were great for 6 adults & 6 kids. The house is quite remote, and we had a surprise outside visit (discovered when the motion light came on during the night) from 3 cougars when they walked right in front of the lower bedroom door! The morning we left, we were no more than 5 miles away and a mama bear and two cubs crossed the road in front of us. We wanted to see wildlife and I guess we did!! Very cool!

AMAZING home!!

This place is gorgeous! Well-stocked, spacious, beautiful views- all the things you’d want for a getaway with a bunch of friends or family. They are NOT joking about needing 4-wheel drive or chains to get to the property though- that road is a bit precarious in the winter! But overall we loved our experience and would definitely stay there again!

Great property

The property was awesome. We had a Guy’s Trip there with 9 people. The location is perfect for outdoor hiking and close enough to enjoy activities in Durango. The house was well supplied and nicely appointed. Looking forward to staying here again with my family.

Amazing View

Cabin was beautiful and the view was amazing. We stayed here to celebrate my daughters birthday and chose this cabin for the location. It was pretty secluded with not much traffic and the sound of the river was close enough to hear from the home. The biggest complaint was that the hot tub was not working properly and was one of the reasons I booked this cabin. Property management did nothing to attempt to resolve the issue, not that much could be done regardless, as we were only there for a short time. Overall, it was a beautiful place and we all had a great time.

Property was beautiful with fantastic Mountain View’s. House was in great condition and very nicely appointed. Road getting to the house is a bit rough but nothing any passenger car can’t handle by going slowly. Highly recommend this home.

Perfect cabin getaway

We chose this home to house our friends and ourselves to get ready for our wedding in Silverton. The home was gorgeous and the view was breath taking! Everybody has their own private spaces. The master bedroom was perfect. The home was well stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. We really enjoyed the privacy and tranquility of the property!

Beautiful Home!!

Wow! This home was absolutely spectacular and great for our weekend ski trip at Purgatory. We enjoyed the fireplaces, hot tub, and air hockey table. Big open kitchen with a big 8 chair dining room table great for dinner. The property manager was a great communicator and quickly responded to messages. I would definitely recommend staying here - you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing Mountain Views

Everything was perfect. We had a full house with three families for spring break ski trip. Views are amazing. The road to the house is not paved and definitely requires 4x4. We rented a 4x4 Jeep and had no issues. We all agreed we’d pass on the crowded mountain condos for this mountain retreat. Can’t wait to come back.

Great house, amazing location

This house was perfect for our stay. We had amazing views, quiet location and a great house with plenty of room for everyone. The location in a national forest was amazing. We were there with two families to go offroading and it was amazing. Plenty of room for us and the kids to have options to sleep. Two living/family rooms allowed some separation when needed. The hot tub provided a nice way to unwind at the end of the night. The morning views are well worth it whether you sit out on the deck or stay inside they are amazing. Plenty of wildlife around with hummingbirds coming to the feeder or deer in the yard.

Great spot

The home was great, it's very big, can easily sleep two families, the first floor has two bedrooms and a living space for the kids to relegate to if they want. Only downfall, the home lists 15 miles to Telluride ski resort. Maybe the way the crow flies, but it's a 2 hour drive to Telluride from the home. If you're looking to stay near Telluride, this isn't the place. Durango, yes, but not Telluride.

Nice home for a large family vacation

We stayed at this property for a week with our 4 adult children, daughter-in-law, a family friend, and our 18 month old granddaughter. The house was big enough for all of us to have our own space and was very clean. They are not joking about the road in to the property though..it is rough and bumpy, expect your car to get dirty! Our rented minivan made it with no issues though. The property is in a secluded area with lots of trees, and a running stream across the road which was beautiful. The deck allowed for great bird watching in the morning and star gazing at night. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on the deck. The only complaint about the deck is that the chairs on the deck were not comfortable for lounging, which was the only drawback. The hot tub was clean and there was an amazing view from the tub! There were plenty of towels available including extra towels for the hot tub. There are several nice hiking trails nearby and Durango is about a 30 min drive. Purgatory was closed while we were there, which was disappointing. I highly recommend the train ride, the whole family enjoyed it! The kids enjoyed their rafting trip but it was cold! The home could use some updated furniture on the main living level but was comfortable. We cooked several nights and the kitchen is well appointed with extra spices, condiments, etc. We found all the items we needed for cooking. Overall, this was a nice property for our large group and our family had a great time!

Wonderful property

This is an amazing property, beautiful home and location with stunning views. This is a secluded location that is close to Durango, Silverton and many local outdoor activities. The house is comfortable and expertly decorated/equipped. We can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful views and Secluded

This property is private and quiet, with only a roof or two visible, but a lot of trees and mountains in sight. The size and comfortable decor of the property is great. There are games and a private area for young people. There is a great hot tub and a nice fire pit. The only thing that would have been a little better is the comfort of the furniture on the deck, but it is a beautiful place to have your morning coffee with the Rockies as your view.
