Great Location and nice place

The condo is located in a great location with an easy walk to both Shipwrecks and Poipu beach. Grand Hyatt and nice landscaping made short walks to Shipwrecks particularly enjoyable. We loved the stay and everything in the condo worked out great. The unit was well stocked with kitchen stuff which made cooking easy. 1st floor location made in and out easy. Nice place.

Excellent Poipu condo

This Poipu Sands is a great place to stay, very comfortable, well equipped and nicely decorated. The location is perfect, just a short stroll to Shipwreck beach and the Hyatt, or a quick drive to Poipu Beach park. The ground floor location makes for an easy in and out, and the beautiful is just steps away.

Great property for a fun family week

It had been 20 years since we visited Kauai. We were so pleased with our choice to stay at the Poipu Sands condo. The location was great and the property manager was wonderful to work with. The condo was well equipped, clean and enjoyable to stay at.

Loved the location

We had all we needed! Communication and helpfulness of Chad & Scott was exceptional! We had a wonderful vacation. Beds were comfortable. Had all we needed for cooking. Towels were luxurious as described. We loved, loved, loved the location!

Peaceful luxury in great location

Nicely decorated, spacious 2bed, 2bath condo. Quick walk to the beach, and even quicker walk to the pool. Location is in quiet Poipu, about 15 minute drive to Lihue for supplies and services, but just a few minutes drive to restaurants and a Starbucks. Southside of island so easy drive to Waimea Canyon with excellent hiking. We'd definitely stay here again.

A wonderful stay you wont want to leave

Upon our arrival in the evening time, we were disappointed to find the condo had not been thoroughly cleaned. However after reaching out to the owner, it was obvious a miscommunication error had occurred, and he was very apologetic and even offered to take a night off of the bill. To be fair we had just decided to book the trip only a few days in advance, and previous occupants had just left the day of our arrival. The cleaning lady came at an appropriate time the next morning, and then the place was perfect. We loved being right by the pool (it was never loud or bothersome) and being able to run up to our condo after a dip, it is chilly with the breeze. We were worried about not having air conditioning, but a night shower and sleeping with the screens open allowing a breeze and using the fans provided allowed us to be plenty comfortable. The walk down to Shipwreck beach is a beautiful one, easy paved walkway surrounded by lush vegetation. The condo has lots of supplies not listed in the description, beach chairs and goggles and umbrellas, all in good condition and were much appreciated. Overall we would certainly stay at this condo again, hopefully in the not so distant future! mahalo

Excellent property and a perfect location. This was our fifth stay at a Poipu Sands property. This unit #211 overall was very good. The living room furniture could use updating and new paint in some areas would be a good investment. We thoroughly enjoyed this unit and plan to go back again.

great location, great condo!

We were so grateful for this last minute available condo. The property manager promptly replied to our request AND even had the condo available one day early for us. The property was very clean and spacious. it was walking distance to shipwrecks beach as well as Poipu beach. There was a washer and dryer inside the unit and the master bathroom/shower was beautiful!

Amazing week!

I am technologically challenged so check in was difficult for me. But...after we were settled in, everything was fantastic. Our host had provided everything we needed for beach visits and for food prep so we could just relax. Much mahalo!

No AC? No problem! Loved our time here!

We had a fantastic stay at the property! The proximity to the pool and Shipwreck Beach for the sunrise was unbelievable. The condo had everything we needed and was close to so much in Poipu. There were four boogie boards, a football, a beach umbrella, cooler, and tennis rackets available for our use, which was amazing! We weren’t 100% sure if not having AC was going to work for us, but Scott and all of the other reviews were absolutely right - we didn’t need it! The winds at night cooled the whole place down and we all slept comfortably! The only issues were with the actual grounds of the condominium property itself: *We were left a note saying to keep all windows and doors shut at night due to the potential of crime (not likely, but clearly they just needed to say it). It would not have been possible to sleep without the windows / doors open, so we ignored this. *The pool had very strict rules that weren’t outlined anywhere on the property. We were told there was no: Jumping into the pool Throwing of pool toys/balls (we were playing catch with no one else in the pool) No use of any floaties For anyone who is coming with children or young teens, these rules will absolutely impact your pool time, as it did ours. That said, the pool (and entire complex) is pristine and kept in amazing condition and the condo was the perfect place to stay. We loved it and Scott was an amazing host!

Beautiful Condo Unit perfectly located!

My boyfriend who flew all the way from Ireland and I (from California) spent one week in Kauai staying at this beautiful condo. I stayed in a different unit in Poipu Sands last year (smaller 1 bedroom), but it wasn't available so I went for this one which worked out well. There were only 2 of us and so we were able to utilize both bathrooms and feel like we had enough space with the bathrooms. The location was perfect - I love that it is a ground unit, very close to pool, private in that you don't really see your neighbors beside you and it's in its private cozy corner tucked away, and quiet especially above the master bedroom since there' no unit directly above that room. We did hear noise form upstairs with heavy feet, but it didn't really bother us. It was quiet at night and for most part during our stay. The condo is well equipped with laundry essentials, bath towels, pool towels, kitchen cleaning items, the basics. Nicely decorated and clean. I would definitely highly recommend this place for a family or couple(s) or even a single couple like ourselves who just want a little more space. We hope to come again and will definitely keep this condo in mind for future bookings. We absolutely love this area of Kaui on Poipu especially given its direct access just next door to the Grand Hyatt. Thanks Scott for all the info you passed along to us prior to our visit. We had NO problems whatsoever and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our romantic vacation getaway as sweet as can be! MAHALO.

Perfect Vacation

Travelling to places you haven't been before always comes with some anxiety. Reviews are helpful, but until you experience it, you don't really know. We were very happy with both our choice of Kauai (Popui) and 211 Popui Sands. Most good beaches are either a car ride or short walk from most properties, so I didn't find not having waterfront to be an issue. From the lanai, you still have a great view of the ocean and can hear the waves lapping (Shipwreck beach). The incredible view of the pool a mere 100 feet away was both spectacular and convenient. We spent time in the ocean and at the pool. Both BBQ areas were very close, seldom used and equipped with brand new / clean Weber BBQ's. The unit was spacious, very well equipped and comfortable. Cooking gear was plentiful. The supplies for the washing machine, sink, dishwasher, toilet paper, and paper towel were all full and ample. We appreciated the well conditioned beach chairs (4), boogie boards (2) and beach umbrella. No air conditioning was a bit different (a couple nights more than others), but it wouldn't prevent me from coming back. Darker blinds in the master bedroom would be nice but they might inhibit a breezed from coming in? Scott was very professional and great to deal with both through a change of date request early in the process and through some travel issues we incurred. We are leaving a very satisfied and happy family despite winter waiting for us back home. Mahalo!

Beautiful home, well stocked, fabulous views

We very much enjoyed our stay. The pool is just steps away, the beach is a healthy walk away. We were cautioned by a local not to go swimming as it is a dangerous place and the red flags never came down. There are safer beaches nearby. There were a few nights when air conditioning would have been most welcome, but the winds did blow thru pretty consistently. The local security left notes on our door several times to tell us to keep all doors and windows closed at night. The feral chickens are amusing to watch but they did like to join us when we ate on the lanai. Don't feed them...they will leave calling cards!! This home has a well stocked kitchen with dishes and pots and pans, knives, etc. One of the cabinets was full of stuff we never even used ... blender, etc. There were spices in the cabinet and some condiments in the fridge. When you only need a dab of this or a dab of that to find it in the fridge is great. We left our excess behind too. There is a mission called Friendship House on the other side of Kapaa that will take your unopened food items and all those 5¢ return bottles. That deposit adds up if like me, you don't want to bother to take them back! It is quiet and beautiful and you can hear the surf all night. The beds are wonderfully comfortable and down pillows were delightful!! The humidity is high so we saw water spots condensing on glass surfaces like on the hanging photos. Thank you for making your home available! It was a wonderful visit.

Beautiful stay

We feel so relaxed and rested after our 5 nights at this property. It was perfect for my 95 year old FIL who walks with a cane. Parking is easy and both showers are walk-in with the master bath having grab bars for extra safety. Beautiful view, beautiful accomodations, beautiful stay

A home away from home!

This condo was absolutely perfect in every way! The location makes for easy access to a beautiful walkway through manicured gardens, a beautiful pool, BBQ areas, a tennis court, you name it!Everything was thought of, with an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Beach towels, beach chairs, tennis rackets, etc. are all made available too! The property was clean and is well kept.We especially enjoyed the outside area, with table, chairs and loungers.Scott's communication was excellent with clear instructions, and his attention to detail was clear; checking ahead of time on whether we wanted the second room made up as a king or two single beds. We appreciated that attention to detail.We will definitely book this unit again if we have the opportunity to visit the beautiful island of Kauai again!Mahalo Scott!

We have been vacationing in Kauai since 1995 and have been to all parts of the island. The Poipu Beach area quickly became our favorite spot. I am retired and do a fair amount of traveling. If you enjoy serious hiking, Kokee Park has some awesome trails on the South side of the Island, and in the North you will find the famous Kalalau Trail.
We have found the Poipu Sands complex to be very quiet. A good place to recharge your batteries.

We purchased the condo in Poipu Beach because it is our favorite area on the island. Poipu Beach has swimming, snorkeling, and surfing within walking distance. This area is often sunny when other parts of the island are not--especially in the winter months. Additionally Poipu Beach and Koloa town are about equi-distant from the south shore (Kokee Park) and the north shore (Princeville).

We enjoy the farmer's market on Monday afternoon and the Koloa Fish Market for fresh fish. Within easy walking distance are several great restaurants where you can get a 'special night out' meal or just a light snack. This year Kukui'ula Shopping Center opened with Bubbas (Hamburgers) and Merrimans Restaurant and Cafe, plus numerous shops. Walking along the coast area in the early morning or evening is very relaxing and good exercise. Additionally we enjoy having the pool and tennis court so close to the unit.
