How would you like to begin and end every day with gorgeous sunrise and sunset vistas over the ocean? Thanks to its unique positioning, this vacation home faces the Atlantic to the south, giving you pristine views, no matter the time of day. Nearby, a short drive will take you to Hatteras, which boasts numerous shops, restaurants, and the ferry to Ocracoke Island. While there, be sure to bask in the sun on the beaches or explore the scenic trails.

When you get back, lounge by the private 14' x 24' pool with a sizable sun deck or go for a stroll over the dunes to the beach. A soothing soak in the hot tub overlooking the pool and the dunes is sure to also provide the luxury you crave while here. Inside, the great room is a serene place to relax. Watch your favorite shows on the 65' TV, complete with a sound bar to truly enhance your immersion. During colder months, settle down with movies together after starting up the gas log fireplace for a cozy ambience. The room also hosts a full ocean view, complete with frequent dolphin and seabird sightings. The sliding glass doors lead out to sun decks which sport water views on both upper levels. The well-equipped kitchen will certainly please the group chef, who can whip up some tasty meals to be enjoyed at the kitchen bar or in the separate dining room.

When it's time to wind down for the night, any of the six bedrooms have you covered. Your guests will love the fact that both primary suites have ocean views and en suites.

Pompano offers convenient under-house parking with all-weather entry and a paved parking area for extra cars. Wireless high-speed internet for your devices rounds out this home's amenities.

Vacation 2025

We did have a relaxing vacation, there a few things we wanted to share to help the next renters. We were shocked to find the property not as ready we discussed with management since we arrived 1 1/2 hr earlier than check in. Management would not allow us to enter the house to be sure it was “ready”. Multiple areas of the house, bathrooms, walls, rooms and including the dishes were just left disgusting. The windows in several rooms were dirty with mold and caked on dust. Some windows in the house would not stay open which lost the ability to open and have the ocean breeze. The smell in the house was that of which the house had not been cleaned or opened for quite some time. A cockroach was found inside on the bottom floor Sunday. Although dead this was startling and not expected. There are many improvements that could be made to this house. Showers faucets need to be replaced or cleaned for water pressure to improve. Hot water temperature needs to be turned down. Burning hot , no happy medium to take showers. Lounge chairs on pool deck broken/cracked. Outdoor railing on top deck loose. We did like the access to the beach so close and having the ability to do laundry. Also the private pool and hot tub was a big plus.

Great pet friendly beach house

This house is in a great location with easy access to the beach right over the dunes. Beautiful views from the main level (top floor) and well maintained pool and hot tub. The bathrooms and kitchen fixtures could use an update, but everything was clean and very comfortable.

The stay was great. We did have a problem with the washer and someone came out and checked it. We also had problems with the 2 showers on the second floor. We’re not able to use them. Someone came to check them and said that they were going to contact a plumber which never showed.

I loved the location, the layout and the room the property offered. The chairs on the top deck were great and offered a lot of seating for our group. However, is definitely dated with decor and upkeep. The pool was great, but a few of the pool lounge chairs were broken. The hot tub was great, but not heating up properly. We ended up not having any water on Thursday and called management. They responded very promptly and sent over two maintenance people. It was not a quick fix, so Vacasa representatives worked diligently to move us to another location. Although it was an ordeal to have to move on Thursday, we were provided with a home that suited our needs and we had water which was great! Although we were here during the week of bad weather due to the hurricane, we still have wonderful week and even with the move, we really enjoyed the home and our stay. I do think a little TLC, and this house could be a 5/5 with location to the beach.

Full Family Get Together

Location and beach access are amazing. 5 for sure. House is a bit scratchy but hey, it’s a beach house. 4 for the house. Our overall experience was off the charts. Bringing our whole family together was a priceless experience!

Nice view but cockroaches

We just had a group of 11 stay. Pros: view of sunrise was wonderful, very close to the beach. Quiet street. Pool and hot tub were great. Nice set up of bedrooms, plenty of bathrooms. Lots of utensils, plates, pots/pans, etc. Enjoyed the nice chairs on the third floor deck. Covered parking. Cons: we found three cockroaches inside during our stay - one on each floor. Four of five pool chairs were cracked/broken. Bottom floor bathroom faucet got scalding HOT and this is the bathroom right next to the bunk room so commonly used by kids. No basketball net on the hoop. Just cosmetic stuff but the wood trim is scratched, some black mold on door and windows/trim. Vinyl peeling off cabinets. As others have mentioned, the walls have marks all over them and everything could use a freshening up as far as paint and decorations in the home. We are visiting again next year but chose another home in Hatteras for our stay instead. For the cost of this home, there are definitely nicer homes out there.

Great views, the house was in a great location, the kitchen lacked big bowls and more pots. The pool furniture is falling apart should be replaced. The house could use a little bit of an update. WiFi was very spotty. It would be nice if the house had a gas grill, and a bigger refrigerator. Other than that we had a wonderful time!

Fantastic location but house needs lots o TLC to warrant the price charged. Furniture is stained. Lots of mold and water stains on the floor moldings. Entryway is dirty and needs painting. Kitchen sink is too small to wash pots and pans. Dishwasher is about to break. Ice maker in freezer makes about 10 cubes of ice a day. Toilet bowls are stained. There are no window screens so you can't open the windows to enjoy the ocean breeze. The house does have a very nice pool and hot tub

Solid home...with even more potential!

In terms of positives, the home was wonderful in terms of location, space, layout and comfort. Two families (8 people total) had plenty of room, and the living space was very conducive to hanging out, playing games, and enjoying each other's company. Access to the beach was quite easy over the dune (although note that there's no boardwalk). We were also impressed with the amount and quality of the deck furniture (which we often find lacking in beach rentals). On the down side, we hope the owners of Pompano will invest in some updates to the decor. This house served us well and we'd be happy to return, but it was definitely a bit worn and tired. With a little facelift, Pompano could be truly excellent. :) Finally, we'd like to give a shout out to the folks at Vacasa, who were exceptionally responsive to a couple of maintenance requests.

Great location and management

Excellent location, incredibly helpful and easy property management, very clean. This place is awesome and would just recommend new appliances (fridge, dishwasher mainly); new firmer mattress for 2nd King bed on left; and a grill. Will definitely stay here again!

Great house and location !

Nice Home Needs Some Love

Great home for a family getaway, but needs some attention. Very close to the uncrowded beach, great pool, good sized rooms with comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, great views, pet friendly. Getting a little ragged around the edges due to so much use: couches/chairs getting funky an broken, peeling vinyl cabinets, hot tub jets missing, trashed beach toys/umbrellas/chairs stacked in the outdoor shower. However, Vacasa staff were attentive and polite. We'd go back in a heartbeat despite these easily ignored issues. All told it was an above average experience that could have been stellar with a bit more care put back into the home.

Great pool and location, poor house quality

Pros: large pool, beach views and beach access, well stocked kitchen Cons: Toilet was leaking at the seal and created a biohazard that it took days to repair. Deck and pool furniture was broken. Vacasa didn’t respond to requests to replace it. They said call volume was too high. Dog hair is ground into the carpets. Do not believe Vacasa when they say they have resolved the issues from other reviews. They told us this as well and lied.

Large house that needs updating but good location.

The location was great, but the property was a bit run down. View from living room was lovely, but the walk over the dunes to get to the beach was almost vertical so had to go on your knees. Also from master bedrooms all you could see was sand.

Bad showers

2 of the 4 showers did not work and the 2 that did work hardly had enough pressure to rinse of the soap. All bathrooms fixtures are rusted and need replaced

Old, Tired and Sad

The beach house is in MAJOR need of TLC. Terrible smell inside. First impression is of trashy carport and dirty gas grill and falling apart basketball hoop. Ceiling fans were dusty, main TV has a crack in LED screen. Lower cabinets in kitchen are scary so didn’t want to cook or use them. Deli tray In fridge is broken. Sinks missing drain strainers. HVAC makes a clicking noise in main living room. I can go on and on. Would not stay at this property ever again.

Disappointing

House desperately needs updating. We were missing towels and pillows. Rusting faucets. Broken deck furniture. Lots of things I could name, but suffice to say we wouldn’t rent this house again. Views were nice and location good. It’s a shame the owners are letting it deteriorate.

Great trip

The main reason this house is getting 4 stars is because of the view and location! The pictures from the website don’t do it justice. However, half the lights didn’t work in the house, there was trash everywhere outside when we arrived and there were a lot of dirty utensils mixed with the clean ones. The bedrooms were good sizes but the mattresses were horrible. Regardless of some of the flaws of the house, it was still a great trip

Great location; rundown property

We experienced many problems with this property. We spent over $10,000 for this property and found it to be in some disrepair. The primary digital door lock did not work for the entire time we were there. The door also did not shut properly for the first few days and needed repair. Additionally, the top balcony door flew open repeatedly and randomly — even in the middle of the night,, causing air conditioner to overwork. We had a plumbing issue in one of the master bedrooms that took 48 hrs to get fixed. There was very limited seating on the balconies (only on the top) so that we could not utilize the 2nd floor deck except for towel drying. Many of the cheap plastic recliners were broken on the deck and around the pool and Broken chairs littered the property. The outdoor shower was rustic but hot — hotter than the inside showers! The decor inside is outdated and a bit rundown for the price (old living room chairs; peeling bathroom cabinetry; dingy carpet. We were not alerted when our house was ready and then the door code did not work and we had to find another way in. The pool and hot tub were great. The short walk over the dune to the perfect beach was great. Would benefit from updating, regular maintenance and the addition of another fridge since primary is small and froze our fruits.
