Katelyn earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in ecology and conservation at Southern Oregon University. Her first job out of college was a seasonal botany position in Redwood National Park where she fell in love with the plants, wildlife and breathtaking views in the region. Katelyn now works as a restoration project manager for The Freshwater Trust where she designs and implements streamside restoration projects to ensure ecosystems remain healthy and thriving.
When not enjoying time on the coast, Katelyn can be found tending to her small farm, nurturing a bountiful garden, and trail riding her horse. She also enjoys hiking and wildflower hunting in the Klamath Siskiyous, and swimming in the Smith River amongst the mighty redwoods. She is always seeking new ways to connect with and protect the natural world.
Katelyn's perfect day on the coast is waking up for a hike in the redwoods, getting lunch at a local seafood restuarant and surfing South Beach!
