Fun in the sun beach cottage

You’ll enjoy the sounds of ocean waves and cool breezes at this beach cottage. This 700 sq foot cottage offers a 0.2 mile walk to the beach in a quiet family neighborhood. This 2 bedroom cottage has 1 bedroom with a full bedroom and a second bedroom with 2 sets of bunks beds and a finished enclosed porch with a queen futon for additional sleeping space. Open concept kitchen and living room space for indoor entertainment or you can move it outside to enjoy a spacious yard with a picnic table, fire pit and gas grill.
There’s a flat screen smart TV, WIFI and a kitchen stocked with pots pans and utensils. There’s parking space for 2 cars. The cottage is not pet friendly. Please note that linens and towels are the requirements of the guest.

Maximum occupancy is 8 people of which 6 adults max. 2 car parking only, no tents allowed to be setup on property. No hosting events on the property.
No bed linens, or towels supplied by host due to Covid. There are pillows and blankets. No fireworks or firearms allowed on the property.
The cottage should be left clean and broom swept. Dishes, utensils should be washed and put away. All trash be placed outside in trash bins provided.

The beds were genuinely the most uncomfortable beds I have ever layed on. The futon in the front room pulls out and that was bearable enough for a couple of days. If that weren’t there I would have gone straight to a hotel because of the beds alone. The place was not as clean as I would have hoped. Used bandaid on the floor in the bedroom, needed vacuuming, spider webs in the second bedroom etc. No linens or towels or anything. When we got there there was no hand soap, an empty bottle of detergent, no cleaning spray of any kind, etc. Location is decent and definitely not a super long walk to beach. It’s small but cozy and all you need. Lots of potential. I rarely leave negative reviews but rentals aren’t cheap and I wish I would have known this stuff before I spent that much money.

There are many reasons we chose to come back to Fun in the Sun cottage - the closeness to the beach, the great communication with the owners, and the comfort of the cottage. The short walk to the beach is a huge plus. The quietness of the neighborhood is also greatly appreciated after a long day on the beach. The responsiveness of the owners is super quick, they are happy to answer any questions you may have. This cottage is clean, tidy and in good shape overall. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable cottage in a family friendly neighborhood. Very short walk to beach and restaurants. One thing that I thought should have been included were dish towels, but we loved it all the same

No towels, no bed linens (we had to sleep on rubber mattress covers and no pillow cases). Didnt like the door in the kids bedroom. My 3yr old got out by herself. Not a good spot for a door. Ants in bedroom and roach in cupboard.

Great little cottage

We had a great time in the area. The house was very clean and exactly as described. The only issue is that the bunk bed mattress is awful! I got no sleep at all! Fix that and you’ve got a winner!

Walk on the Beach

Very well-kept cottage, easy walk to Long Sands Beach in York. Excellent hosts, very good communication and everything was as advertised. Well stocked kitchen and well decorated and cared for. York is a sleepy seaside village with lots of family fun and quiet nights. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Relaxing Weekend

My 4 friends and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We took the short 5 minute walk to Long Sands beach where we spent 5 hours basking in the sun. We enjoyed both the inside and outside areas of the cottage at night. We will be booking the cottage again.

Yes it's a 5 min walk to the beach however the bath house and sandy portion are a far walk Approx 1.5 miles. Far with little children ours are both under three, we were prepared for a walk, two wagons for gear and kids. The house was very nice and quaint but best for kids over 4.

Perfect Cottage for a beach vacation

Our family had a great stay at the cottage! It is a very short walk to Long Sands. If you are looking for a vacation that is all about the beach, this spot is for you. The cottage was clean with just the right amount of space indoor and out. We utilized the fire pit many nights. It is a short drive to the super market and also super close to all the activities near Short Sands. The owners are incredibly friendly, and inquiries were answered right away. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and tucked away in a non-busy area. Would definitely rent again!

Cozy Cottage

Went on a girls weekend trip, the cottage was cozy and clean. Slight walk to get to the beach but doable. Had a great meal at the York Tover Landing whoch was a short distance away, there were eateries within walking distance also. Would stay again.

Cute Cottage

The property was well kept and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Walking distance to long sands and a quick drive over to Short sands and Nubble light house. My sister and I enjoyed our quiet getaway with our kiddos here.

Warm, welcoming, family friendly

We had a wonderful stay--Jean and Carol were warm and welcoming and available to answer questions and address any concerns. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were friendly--great for families with small children and an easy walk to Long Sands beach (make sure you get the tide schedule to make the most of beach and tide pool time). We felt comfortable and right at home and wish we could have stayed longer! The property was clean, as described, and suited our needs. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact the owners as they can provide more info and details. Our kids (ages 4-6) had a blast. We definitely plan to return!
