This beautiful single-family home located in Uptown San Diego's charming historic district of Mission Hills is will be occupied by its European owners May thru December 2025. Its 2026 availability to booking guests will be posted soon. Located in walkable upscale Mission Hills - this bright and airy home offers style and privacy for a family of 4 or two adult couples traveling together. A well-behaved pet is also welcome. The dramatic Great Room boasts a vaulted beamed ceiling, cozy switch-activated gas fireplace, quality Pottery Barn furnishings, large leather sectional, and gleaming hardwood floors. The open Kitchen is stocked with high-end appliances and cooking tools for the chef-enthusiast. There are 2 bedrooms, separated by private hallways, each bedroom with a high quality King bed and accompanying bathroom with walk-in tiled showers. Enjoy climate-controlled mini-split air-conditioning during hot spells or thermostatically controlled heat as needed plus the cozy warmth of the Living Room's gas fireplace. Out front - relax under the pergola adjacent the stone driveway which provides one on-site parking space. At the opposite side of the house - open tall sliding glass doors to enjoy a very private walk-out terrace - an ideal spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine. Here one can relax and unwind under the stars - enjoying views of the city and nearby canyons. This property's central location is ideal for exploring both Uptown and Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the amazing Zoo. Historic Old Town is 5 minutes down Washington Street hill. For those who love to walk - stroll a few blocks to upscale food markets, cheese and gelato shops, pizzerias, and specialty restaurants. Picturesque historic homes line the streets of Old Mission Hills while there are dozens of diverse eateries including the city's best bakery and coffee 6 blocks west in Hillcrest. If renting a car - this property is 3 minutes from Interstate 5 with spectacular Coronado Island (and San Diego's best beach) only 10 minutes south, or popular La Jolla 20 minutes north. Most conveniently, one can get to San Diego International Airport in less than 10 minutes. The European owners divide their time between Germany and San Diego and take genuine pride in sharing their wonderful San Diego home while away. Our annual VRBO guests often comment they LOVE staying here!

A chalet with all the amenities!

My family and I very much enjoyed staying here. The house is extremely well stocked and has any cooking utensil you could possibly need. The house was clean and quiet. Also, all of the household items are nicely maintained and even labeled. Thanks for a great stay!

Wonderful location and beautiful home.

Nice layout. Great set-up for 2 couples traveling togegher, we each had our own mini suites. Kitchen is well stocked. Great location, lots of places within walking distance for dinig and groceries. Easy access from the airport.Kent met us when we arrived and went over someghings. He was also helpful with suggestions for places to go.Would stay here again.

Stay here!

The house is extremely comfortable in every way. Furniture/Bed are good. Kitchen/Bath are well stocked. We were there in March & the weather was quite cool so we had the fireplace on every night. Made the living area toasty!Part of the attraction is the quiet neighborhood the house is in. In walking distance of groceries & restaurants of all kinds. Close to Balboa Park. Other attractions are not far via freeway. Property manager was very helpful in orienting us to the area. I can recommend this house without hesitation!

Excellent house and location

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay within 20 minutes of most everything in San Diego this is your spot. The house had everything we needed and was clean and comfortable. The property manager, Kent, met us when we checked in and was easy to get a hold of when we had questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful and restful

Clean, beautiful, peaceful house in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for sitting on the deck (bring or buy mosquito repellent in summer.) Great location easily accessible to the sights and nearby restaurants and Vons. Kent was kind and accommodating, easy to communicate with. I enjoyed my stay immensely!

Great place!

All of the communications were timely and very helpful. The place was as described and very comfortable. Kent is a great property manager and gave us a nice tour/intro to the place. We had enough space and all of the things we needed for our stay in San Diego. We would certainly stay here again if it's available!!

Great location for greater San Diego

My wife and daughter and I spent a week in this great home. It is exactly as described. It was a perfect location to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer and is 15-20 minutes to just about anywhere you want to go with very little traffic. We would definitely stay here again!

Great restaurants/grocery all walking distance. Anything San Diego is less than 5 miles (10-15 minutes) away. Very quiet and enjoyable.

A trip to remember

This VRBO was in the perfect location. Close to everything! It was the best spot for two couples who wanted to see the sites. The hosts had everything we needed and more. The deck was awesome and the lime/lemon trees were the best surprises.

Perfect Location

Very cozy house in walkable neighborhood with plenty of good dining spots and a grocery just a couple blocks away. It is a 15-20 min drive to all the local attractions so it was very convenient to get places. I would definitely recommend.

Great stay

Perfect property for our trip to San Diego. Kent was a fine host and very accommodating. Met us at the house for an early check in and provided all the info we needed for local eats and treats. The house was exactly like the listing and had all we needed. Very centrally located for all our sightseeing and exploring. Would certainly use this place again if we ever visit the area again.

The home is in a great location. The back deck was where we spent most of our time. The lemon trees were an added bonus. The beds were comfortable everything was clean and we enjoyed our stay. We would highly recommend.

Great stay

The house is lovely and was a great fit for two couples. Clean with many amenities, close to many restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. Short drive to downtown. Kent, the manager, was very helpful and responded quickly when needed. Only room for one car but that worked for us. Would highly recommend.

This pride-of-ownership single family home in centrally located upscale Mission Hills still has some available dates between Aug 31 - Sept 23, 2024. Guests love its Uptown central location, the high beamed ceilings, open floor plan, and its very private dining terrace with views! The European owners purchased this property as a second home, dividing their time between Germany and San Diego. They are pleased to offer their special home on Eagle Street as a short term rental six months a year. Extensively remodeled, this custom home has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Each bedroom has a separate hallway, with comfortable King Bed, and an adjacent bathroom w/tiled shower. The spacious Great Room offers an L shaped Italian leather Sectional and Pottery Barn Recliner, Smart TV w/full cable & streaming options, dining table with seating for 6, and open Kitchen with high-end appliances. On a cool night -- enjoy the switch-activated gas fireplace near dining area. On a warm afternoon flip on the Air Conditioning, or open tall sliding glass doors to the private deck with peaceful canyon views. It's an ideal spot for morning coffee or evening meal after an active day at the zoo or nearby beaches. This is a custom built pride-of-ownership home. The owners have upgraded it extensively since purchasing it 10+ years ago. They divide their time between Germany and San Diego, but are always delighted to return to their San Diego "home" on Eagle Street. They love walking to nearby food markets and restaurants like the Red Door, the local ice cream shop on Goldfinch St, or the gourmet cheese shop on Washington Avenue. There are outstanding food markets 2 blocks away, and on Sunday one can visit the huge Farmer's Produce Market in nearby Hillcrest. This prized Uptown location can't be beat! Balboa Park, the Zoo, Downtown, Little Italy, and the Airport can be reached by Uber or a rental car in just minutes.
