This is a beautiful property that looked as nice as the pictures showed it to be. The location is great and very central to many San Diego attractions. We definitely recommend this property and plan to go back ourselves.

The property was in an excellent location. Within blocks of 30th Avenue which has a vibrant and hip nightlife and excellent restaurants and eateries. Very close walk to Balboa Park and all that has to offer with museums and the San Diego Zoo. The propert itself was incredible! Lush landscaping made for cool days and relaxing nights. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. The location was very quiet. I would highly recommend the place and Kent.

What an amazing stay at Kent's wonderful tropical hideaway! The location was perfect for us—only 12 minutes from Coronado and downtown, yet far enough from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved taking walks through the neighborhood to admire the historic Craftsman-style homes, and it was an easy seven-block stroll to some wonderful local eateries in the morning.As for the home itself, we couldn't have asked for more. The grounds, the spacious porch, and the beautiful interior felt like a private retreat. It's clear Kent has put so much heart and work into this property. He greeted us with the key, gave us a quick tour, and made check-in seamless. Having our morning coffee out on the porch was a true highlight. Everything was exactly what we were hoping for.... and beyond!

Everything about this property is exceptional. Kent is a wonderful host who responds very timely to any questions you might have and to share recommendations. The property itself, is a beautiful tropical retreat, very relaxing, yet conveniently located to all San Diego has to offer. This apartment is a very special place. You feel when you walk through the gate. The breezy windows and lush views made us feel like we were on a tropical vacation. We enjoyed grilling on the private patio and also dining on the balcony. The firm bed was super comfortable, and we got great sleep. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. Parking was never a problem. The location is close to the zoo and downtown. Kent is a wonderful host. It is clear that the house is loved and is more than just an investment to him. You can feel the love and pride all around you as you enjoy this lovely home.

We had an amazing stay at the Grand Treetop Suite. The home is lovely, extremely clean and well stocked. The grounds are absolutely stunning. It feels that you are in your own private oasis.Ken is an amazing host! He was incredibly attentive and provided us with a wealth of local recommendations, which made her stay that much more enjoyable! I cannot say enough about Ken and his beautiful property!

Kent is a great host! And I can’t say enough about the beauty of the house. Gorgeous restored craftsman surrounded by lush gardens… Felt like I was far away from the city, and yet Balboa park is right around the corner, as are shops and dining along North Park’s 30th Street. My only regret is not staying longer!

Our experience was exceptional from beginning to end. The host warmly welcomed us, gave us a fascinating tour of his historic property, and answered our texts promptly. Sitting on the private deck off the living room made us feel as though we were in a beautiful, tropical hideaway. Balboa Park and all it has to offer was just steps away in this lovely neighborhood.

I purchased this property 25 years ago, spent several years renovating its 20 rooms and installing hundreds of assorted trees and shrubs. I was honored to have this property featured by "Save Our Heritage Organization's Tour of Historic Homes" in 2007. As a long-time house renovator and avid gardener - it has been exciting but daunting to maintain these sprawling gardens year after year.. My 25+ "Regulars" who visit annually offer encouragement and support. "Wow, Kent, the gardens have grown so much since last year." Some even lend a hand with Spring weeding. I'm pleased that nearly all Winter guests of 2022 returned in 2023.

Covering 3 parcel lots, nearly an acre -- this is one of the largest residential properties in Uptown San Diego. The upper floor Treetop suite offers 4 - 5 private rooms plus its own walled tropical garden. There are two bubbling fountains on site, and dozens of visiting birds provide a peaceful backdrop as guests spend time on their sunny terrace. Some guests tease that they enjoy the gardens so much -- they neglect local attractions..." relaxing instead... at their own private resort."

Picturesque Balboa Park is located next door while Downtown is 5 minutes away, the Airport about 15 minutes west. Hidden among lush greenery - visitors are startled to discover such a sprawling oasis in the central core of urban San Diego. A special surprise are the dozens of hummingbirds, hooded orioles, cooper hawks, owls, and green tropical parrots passing through, stopping to drink or bathe in one of the large garden fountains.
