Hosts are great with communications and the Hideaway was perfect for our needs. Nearby within a short walk are The San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and the Hillcrest neighborhood for shopping and restaurants. The bed was most comfortable and other amenities were as described, quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We would book again.

Just terrific! It was quiet and clean, bed was comfy. I felt very safe. Great hosts. We walked back and forth to the park to the museums, found a nearby hiking area enjoyed wonderful restaurants, saw outdoor Shakespeare, had a picnic. A wonderful trip all around.

Great location and property

We really liked our stay because the rental had everything we needed and the location was great. A very pleasant neighborhood and close to everything. Will definitely stay there again if we go to San Diego.

Great location

Our stay was great. Host was very responsive if we had any questions. We appreciated the extra snacks and waters as our kids are always hungry. The washer and dryer are located in the garage which makes parking an SUV inside impossible. However there was street parking right outside. Overall it was a great location for what we needed.

Wedding stay

We stayed for a wedding at Balboa park. The place was very convenient and within walking distance of the park as well as restaurants and stores. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice property and neighborhood

Spacious one bedroom and plenty of street parking (only a very small car will fit in the garage). Biggest plus is having air conditioning…a rarity in SD and much appreciated. Enjoyed our stay

Great location and communication

We were able to walk to park and restaurants while the highways were close by as well. The small patio in the back was good. The owner checked in to see if everything was ok and there were snacks and drinks.

Fabulous stay

This unit was a great place for a week stay. The kitchen was well stocked. We did not have a car, and all the sites we went to were via walking, lyft or city bus.

Great property in a great location.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Close to everything Balboa park is right next-door and what a nice neighborhood. All the neighbors were saying hi to us when we’re out in the street going to the car. Felt totally safe.

Great place and neighborhood

Stayed here for a couple of days to visit the SD Zoo. The zoo was an easy walking distance both too and from after a long day at the zoo. Communication was prompt and clear with the owners. Property was clean and had an abundance of amenities and extras. If i travel to SD again, I would stay here again.

Nice little apartment.

Stayed 3 nights here. Great location, right next to Balboa Park. The apartment was clean and came with a garage. The host was easy to communicate with and was timely in most responses.

Centrally located, quiet and clean residence

Perfect for a couple, this clean and comfortable Hillcrest one bedroom suite was as advertised. The hosts were excellent to communicate with, and the check in process was seamless. The snacks and drinks were a bonus, and there was plenty of room in the suite for us. Would recommend this property for a couple and I would definitely return the next time I’m in San Diego.

Our property is elegant, comfortable, secure, and in an amazing location. We are located in the heart of San Diego's neighborhood, Hillcrest, which is centrally located from downtown, Mission Valley, Balboa Park/Zoo, Sea World and the beaches.

Hillcrest is a neighborhood in San Diego located northwest of Balboa Park. It is an accepting urban village with a small town feel. Hillcrest is known for its tolerance, diversity and locally-owned businesses including eclectic restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs and boutique shopping. It is also known for its salons and spas, medical offices, two major hospitals and the largest concentration of LGBTQ+ owned businesses in the city.

Balboa Park is a cultural oasis that includes 17 museums, gardens galore and the world-famous San Diego Zoo. At 1,200 acres, Balboa Park is one of North America’s most iconic urban parks and a must see on any visit to San Diego

The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for cooking. We provide coffee as well. A private patio awaits with beautiful fruit trees!

Location is everything: We are located in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest neighborhood. Steps away from exquisite dining, night life and shopping. Less than one mile to the world famous San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park which hosts various museums, an Organ Pavilion, period architecture, street performers and local artisans.

A short drive to local beaches, harbor excursions and sights, the Padre's Petco Park, Sea Word and SDCCU Stadium (formally Qualcom Stadium).
