Welcome to M & M Rockhouse in Lake Lure! This charming lake home has direct lake access and spectacular views from the boat house deck. You'll want to spend every moment you have outside, taking in all the lake has to offer! You'll feel removed from everything in this peaceful space, but yet you are close to the grocery store and restaurants.

Upon entering the cozy lake cottage, you are greeted with an open kitchen, dining and family room. Perfect for hanging out after a day on the water. The home has a fully equipped kitchen, lower level family room, 4 guest rooms and beautifully appointed bathrooms. Step out onto the deck or patio, where you can enjoy your morning coffee while viewing the lake. Cable tv and internet are provided for those rainy days or just relaxing after a day of lake life.

Take a walk down to the beautifully constructed stone boat house. Relax out on the deck or enjoy your private sandy area between the boat houses. This is the perfect space to play with children or dogs in the 2 ½ to 3 feet of water.

Quiet Policy
This home is located in a peaceful, private mountain community. To preserve the relaxing setting for everyone, please keep noise to a respectful level at all times. Parties and disruptive behavior aren't permitted, and we kindly ask that you be mindful of neighbors and quiet hours starting at 10pm.

Extended Stays
Reservations of 30+ days are subject to additional review. Stays exceeding 90 days require a separate agreement. A security deposit, mid stay cleaning fees and trash pick up fees may apply depending on the length of stay.

Payments
If booked more than 14 days before arrival, 50% is due at booking and the remaining balance is due 14 days before check-in. If booked 14 days or fewer before arrival, full payment is due at booking.

Military Discount

Last-Minute Bookings
For reservations made **within 7 days of arrival**, additional verification is required to protect our homeowners and guests.

This is a great little spot and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a place on Lake Lure. It’s convenient and well taken care of in a good location on the lake and having the dock to relax on and the kayaks to take out made for a really great vacation. This is my second time at this house and I will definitely be back!

We had an excellent time just sitting on all of the different decks and looking at the water. The fire pit was great and the house was very clean. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our time on beautiful Lake Lure relaxing, playing games and just enjoying quality time with family over Thanksgiving. The only thing to note is the main level master has a double bed and the queen is downstairs, so that affected our sleeping arrangements, as my elderly parents aren’t able to go down stairs. With that said, we adjusted and ended up using the pullout couch downstairs. On Thanksgiving day, linens were brought to the home for our use, so we appreciated that prompt response! Our fur babies were also allowed to join us, so that made the trip even better. We were extremely diligent about picking up their waste; however, we did see other dogs walking around the property so we wanted to make sure we weren’t charged (as if it were our babies’ messes). Again, we had a great time, watched a lot of football and played a new fun games as a family! It was very cold so we didn’t make it out to the fire pit as we had hoped. We will have to come back to try it out!
My son passed away from pediatric cancer in 2015 at 10 years old. We love getting signs from him. We saw this carving in the door and immediately thought it looked like a cardinal! 💛

great location, it's unfortunate the flood hurt this area. The home needs some cleaning up around the outside. I don't think much as been done since the flood on the outside, yard, dock, etc. Little dated on the inside as well. enough space to park 2 possibly 3 cars. I could never find the outside trash cans for use during checkout. I would love to see the place when the lake gets back to normal. Overall I would stay again.

Great location and beautiful views.

The home is nice and the view is perfect. Could not ask for better management. We had a bear come and do some damage to the property one night and the management was there the next morning fixing everything. The home was nice and beds were great!

Good location with nice outdoor space.

Right on the lake with nice views. The outdoor spaces are the best part of this property. Covered deck, boat house deck, dock space & stone fire pit make this a great spot. The house is a bit dated, but overall clean. The bedrooms and beds are small, but comfortable. I would stay here again in the warmer months.

Beautiful vibe

Had a great time with family. Grandkids loved hanging out by the water. Easy commute to Asheville. Very peaceful. Place was clean and accommodating. Even our pups had a great time. Neighbors were very nice. You can tell everyone watches out for each other. Safe place to be. Thanks again!!

Quiet property on beautiful lake

The property of this house is why we selected it - on the lake with several different outdoor spaces for relaxing. We enjoyed having the dock for our pontoon rental, the firepit with lake views, the upper patio and kayaks. The house is on a quiet street. The roads to get to the house from Asheville are the curviest we've been on! The house is a tad outdated, but did have new flooring throughout which was very nice.

Great Stay at Lake Lure

The house was exactly what was listed online. The location, neighborhood and amenities were wonderful. The outdoor space was outstanding; we spent all evenings sitting on the boat dock or covered porch watching the sun go down. We were amazed at how clean the house was upon our arrival. The cleaning crew really did a fabulous job. The only thing that was less than ideal was our bed on the main floor. My husband is very tall, so it was tight quarters at night. Other than that, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again!! Thank you for the hospitality!

Great spot

I would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking for a spot on Lake Lure. The house was clean and well maintained, the dock is fabulous, the location is really great, and we had a great experience with the rental company. Lake Lure can be tricky sometimes with location and this place was in a great spot. I would note that the stone steps down to the dock are steep. We had no issue at all but I wouldn't recommend this spot to anyone with elderly guests or people with mobility issues. We all plan to return to this spot again in the future. Thanks for a great weekend!

Peaceful and relaxing

We loved this location. The house and docks are situated to provide plenty of privacy though neighbors are just a short distance away. Fabulous views from the house. As pictures show the house is located above the lake and docks. There are actually more steps than can be seen in the pictures and they are steep. The house stairs are also quite steep. If you are traveling with elderly, or with persons with diminished physical capabilities this may not be the best option for you. However, access from the parking area to the main floor of the house is quite easy to navigate. If someone in your group has mobility issues and has no desire to walk down to the water they still have a great view of the activity on the dock from the main level deck.From what I could see, one would be hard pressed to find lodging without a significant number of steps. After all you are in the mountains and this is to be expected. The showers are walk in as well. The home is older and the furnishings adequate. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The only thing I was not able to locate were extra blankets. I may have overlooked them and I did not bother to inquire if there were any. These would have been nice to have while watching TV or sitting on the deck on cool nights. Two paddle boards are available for guest use and we did use. The lake was calm and we felt perfectly safe using them. I have been on more crowed lakes where you feel like you’re a boaters target. The location was great.

Could be amazing

I dont normally give negative reviews, however I think it is only fair to let the next renter know. With everything I am writing below, I want to say the house is amazing the reason I rated it a 3 and not lower. After everyone arrived we thought we would have a small snack and pulled out some dishes out of the cabinet to find them filthy dirty. Okay so we thought, we can just run them through the dishwasher while we went out to eat - to find out THERE WAS NO DISH WASHER. So if you want to go on vacation and wash your own dishes by hand that is okay but a big no for us! I wish something was noted on the description so that we could have planned ahead and brought paper plates ect. Just an FYI and an important FYI, the cold and hot water in the kitchen are on opposite sides - I found out the hard way = burning my hand - I turned on the cold water and to my surprise it was smoldering hot. PLEASE be careful with the Kitchen faucet. Now I will say if you have bad knees or cant get around well, you will not be able to get downstairs - the steps going down and way to high to step down normally. The house is gorgeous and could be a wonderful place to go, but I just think it is only fair that before anyone goes these things need to be brought up The outside is the highlight of the house, but the seating is only good if two people are gathering. No I will not return

Great views and weather! Really enjoyed all the outdoor areas especially the fire pit. Our dogs loved swimming and fetching in the lake.

Uneven and steep stairs

By the third night we finally figured out where an odor was coming from. Someone during a previous stay was sick and a good amount of dried vomit was on the bed skirt. The rug in its proximity was stained but apparently cleaned. Otherwise, the property was very clean. We were very surprised when reading the welcome manual, that there was a stated indoor water restriction… shutting the water off while brushing teeth and limiting time in the shower. There was a musty smell that permeated, which for us, made the lower level unlivable, therefore cutting our space in half. To enjoy the lower outside tiers, there were many many stone stairs, all uneven and irregular. Thank goodness there was a railing system but you still need to be a marathon runner to enjoy these multiple tiers. The indoor stairs down to the laundry room were steep and you must duck your head. The only room that could possibly fit a larger bed, as we felt the beds were very small, was the lower level and again it was very musty down there. There was mention of freedom to use the paddleboat in the manual. However, where it is stored up and out of the water, the system that brings it back down was broken therefore making it unusable. The property, especially outside, is lovely and best suited for a younger couple/family. Would we stay there again? Not for the price we paid.

Great Property and excellent location. The outdoor area was an excellent place to enjoy the views. The home was very clean. The only suggestion is the size of the beds. The upstairs bedroom and downstairs bedroom has double beds. While the beds were extremely soft and comfortable, as a 6ft 3in tall man, I have trouble sleeping on a double bed as my feet hang off the end. I would suggest replacing with a queen or king. Everything else about the property was great!

Wonderful vacation!

The management company was very easy to deal with. The location was sensational! We enjoyed every minute of our trip. From boating to kayaking, paddle boarding, peddle boating, floating on tubes, jumping off the docks, playing corn hole and having bon fires; it was an amazing vacation! There were so many places on the property to sit and soak in the scenery, it was hard to decide where you wanted to spend your time. The lake was warm and clean and not too busy. We liked that we could take the boat we rented to a restaurant on the lake. Very beautiful and peaceful!

What you see is what you get. Great location in quiet cove on lake. Short distance to restaurants and groceries. Great dock. Great views. Just great.
