There's public golf at Rumbling Bald, area wineries, breweries, music, trails, waterfalls, and more within an hour's drive of Lake Lure. Saluda, Rutherfordton, Black Mountain, Mills River, Blowing Rock, Boone, and Brevard are great day-trip destinations. By choosing to visit, you’re supporting the local businesses of Lake Lure, Chimney Rock and Western NC. The Town of Lake Lure is expecting the lake to be at full pond by May of 2026.
