Emerald Shores - Lakefront, Private Dock & Fire Pit

Lake Emerald Shores — Your Pet-Friendly Lakefront Haven on Smith Mountain Lake

Welcome to Lake Emerald Shores, where lakefront comfort meets endless fun! Nestled in a peaceful cove across from undeveloped state park shoreline, this spacious retreat offers beautiful water views, cozy living spaces, and a host of amenities designed for families, friends, and their furry companions.

The Home
With 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, this inviting home comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests (per Bedford County regulations). Inside, you'll find soaring ceilings, warm wood accents, and plenty of space to unwind. Curl up with a book in one of the cozy reading nooks, gather in the open living and dining areas, or relax in the sunroom overlooking the lake.

For entertainment, enjoy foosball, darts, cornhole, and large TVs throughout the home — there's truly something for everyone.

Outdoor Living
Follow the gentle slope to your private dock for sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, or picnicking. The quiet cove and 9-foot average water depth make it perfect for relaxing or docking your own boat (or a rental). End your day soaking in the hot tub or gathering around the fire pit under the stars.

Great location on the lake. House is full of amenities and the dock situation is accommodating. The floating dock was clutch with the low water level. Will look to stay here again.

Good Property - Could use some updates

Great location on the lake, overall great bones on this home and our family enjoyed our stay. Could be appointed slightly better (life jackets for the kayaks and paddleboard, mattress in the master bedroom, carpet upstairs), but overall we had a great trip and the home was as advertised. Great for small pets.

Lovely Vacation Spot

House was lovely, in a quiet private neighborhood, off the main lake on a finger across from the state park made it a great spot to have quick access for boating but also calm for swimming and just lounging on the dock. A few minute drive to the state park for hiking one day. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

The house was beautiful and a good location. 7 minutes from the Virginia Dare Marina and about 15 minutes from a Food Lion. Given that the lake was so low, we were pleased that we could actually get in the water to swim but we had to get a ladder so we could make it from the main dock to the floating dock. The house is in a beautiful cove with emerald waters. The walk to the lake is a gentle slope. We were able to enjoy the hot tub a couple of nights because the temp dropped low enough. The master and en suite is nice however the king bed is an older pillow top and the fitted sheet was too big and did not fit. It kept slipping up. The twin bunk beds up stairs were great! And the other king bed was nice. The queen beds downstairs were comfortable but the en suite shower was difficult for anyone that is over 5’9. The kitchen was nice and there were adequate pots and pans. Did not have a griddle. The bbq grill was great and we enjoyed a few nights grilling there’s a beautiful porch with ceiling fans making it very comfortable to sit outside and enjoy the lake. The house’s orientation is such that you don’t see any sunsets or sunrises. The host is not an individual but property management company that actually charges a pretty hefty fee for cleaning, linens, taxes, etc that added another 1k to the price. The house was clean but given the cleaning fee they charge it should have been cleaner. We stayed for 9 days. All in all we had a pleasant stay.

Lake trip

This is our second year staying at the property. Beautiful home and the property fits our needs very well. The house was clean. Our only suggestion is the kitchen needs to be stocked better with the cooking essentials and have extra blankets for beds on hand. Other than that we look forward to our stay next year.

Awesome house, awesome vacation, incredible set up and customer service

Awesome house, awesome vacation, incredible set up and customer service. Kip and his team have outfitted this house perfectly, everything we needed for cooking any meal, enjoying the lake, fires at night, coffee in the morning, everything was there. Incredible attention to detail stocking the home with everything you need. The house is great for our family, three kids under 12 and mom and dad. The kids loved the lower floor den and Foosball. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay.
