Under continued ownership by the same family for almost a century. The walls are adorned with photographs showcasing the history of Carmel-by-the-Sea. Having just undergone a significant remodel, Dolores House is now available to the public for the first time. Offering guests an opportunity to experience the community in a uniquely special way.

The location is excellent and perfect for walking downtown Carmel or to the beach. Great parking and the house was spacious and clean we really enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely week celebrating our mom’s birthday! The location was fantastic- we loved being on Dolores street near town. The house was well stocked allowing us to enjoy meals at the house as well as out in town. We appreciated how well the owner’s communicated with us, responding quickly if we had any questions.

Cannot Recommend More

This property is exactly as you see pictured, possibly even better as it is phenomenally well-stocked. The location can't be beat - close enough to be an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops; but far enough away to be quiet. We also found the property managers to be unusually thoughtful and kind - we experienced an emergency and a loss just before our arrival and their response was both immediate and incredibly kind. We also found the property to be very well-priced for this area. Again, we can't recommend the property more, you will not be disappointed.

Ideally located, a great house for a short gateway!

We stayed ten days at this great house, well appointed and ideally located at a few steps away from restaurants and boutiques as well as a few blocks from the beach! It looks like the house was originally built in the 1930s (just like many houses in Carmel) and entirely remodeled in recent years. There is plenty of room to park, which was much appreciated. We weathered two major storms; the landlord had brought us a basket of miscellaneous goodies, which was a very kind and thoughtful gesture. Cheers!

Perfect seaside cottage for a small family

My family really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful little cottage less than 1 block from Carmel shops and easily walkable to the beach. The toughest hurdle was having a family of 4 share 1 bathroom, but after a couple days we got used to it and so it was a small sacrifice for how close the house was to the shops, restraints and bars. We did a lot of our own cooking so the fully stocked kitchen was perfect. It was nice that small things like olive oil and spices were provided so we didn’t have to go get them. My wife especially appreciated the little espresso machine complete with small espresso cups. The laundry room had all the supplies we needed and we probably used it almost daily. Unlike some barebones rentals this home really felt like we were just staying in a friends vacation house. We felt very comfortable and at home during our stay and would be recommend it to anyone.

Carmel Calm

The home was perfectly situated in the Golden Rectangle of Carmel - not too close to Ocean Ave. - not too far. Walkable to beaches, stores, churches and restaurants. The home was appointed with anything a guest could need or want. It was comfortable, elegantly decorated and recently renovated for cleanliness and safety. We loved the multiple cozy blankets throughout the home that made for the ultimate relaxing situation. Just perfect! The property mgmt. team was incredibly responsive and accessible. We had to call them a couple of times and were not the least bit annoyed or unable to contact. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood which has noise restrictions that are adhered to closely - even with the wedding reception next door at the American Legion, the celebration came to an abrupt close at 10:30p. May their lives be as fun and happy as that night. God bless them ;)
