Welcome to Cougar House, your cloud forest retreat just 3 km from downtown Monteverde.

Upstairs, two comfortable bedrooms each open onto a private balcony and share easy access to a full bathroom. Downstairs, a fully equipped kitchen makes it simple to cook with local ingredients, and the glass-roof terrace is the heart of the house — watch hummingbirds and toucans by day, and stargaze above the forest canopy by night.

Wake up to birdsong outside your window, enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by nature, and end the day watching the mist roll over the mountains. Cougar House is the perfect balance of immersion in nature and modern comfort.

This was an amazing place to stay while enjoying Monteverde. The property was clean, comfortable, quiet, and the property manager very responsive to questions. The location was very centralized, every place we went to was about15 minutes driving time. If we return to Monteverde we hope this place is available!!!

The home was very clean, and after a very stressful experience traveling into the country, my children and I separated from my wife due to an American Airlines mess-up with a broken seat, this house was immediately relaxing and welcoming. Open spaces, quality decor, and my favorite part: located very close to the Zipline adventure park, el Tigre waterfall, and the town of Santa Elena. There is so much to do nearby that the location is really top notch. The house is relaxing and well-kept. I would bring my family here again.

Our team, including María, is always available-in to asist you with your booking tours and arranging transportation. Our property sits just 3 km from downtown Monteverde — close enough to reach restaurants and shops in minutes, but far enough to wake up to birdsong instead of traffic. The area is surrounded by cloud forest, so toucans, hummingbirds, and motmots are regular visitors. It’s the perfect base for exploring Monteverde’s famous reserves, hanging bridges, and coffee farms, then coming back to a quiet mountain retreat.
