WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK
A note for first-time cabin guests: this property has been beautifully remodeled but remains a cabin at heart. Bedrooms don't have closets, the washer/dryer is located in the kitchen, and the dining area is on an enclosed porch — all just as shown in the photos. If you're looking for a traditional home layout, this may not be the right fit. If you're looking for an authentic lakefront cabin experience, you're going to love it.
Check-in is after 3 PM. Check-out is before 10 AM.
Rental agreement is required with ID verification.
Pet Policy: $100/pet, per stay. 2 dogs max.
Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels.
BYO Life Vests HIGHLY encouraged to ensure proper size.
Firewood is available for purchase.

Relaxing and worry free!

Great place to stay! Allison makes it easy stay worry free. Everything you need is provided. We made use of the charcoal grill and loved having a washer/dryer on property. The lake view and ease for fishing and boating were wonderful. Definitely would stay again!!

Beautiful place. Beds were very comfortable. View of the lake was perfect! Only problem was that the pictures were a bit deceiving. The rooms looked larger in the pictures. Otherwise we had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back next year!

Our family of five had a fantastic time here this week, we thought our choices might be limited by looking for something pet friendly with enough space for three kids, but that was not the case. This cottage is exceptional, the host is communicative, and there’s something for everyone!

Fun family stay

This little French Country lake house was the perfect place for me, my husband, 4 kiddos and pup. Clean, comfortable and well stocked for our needs. The property manager was quick to address any needs we had. We will definitely be coming back next year.

This is a definite repeat rental! We will 100% stay here again when in the area. It was meticulously clean and organized. The decor was darling and we had everything we needed for our 3 night rental. The house is much bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside and we had plenty of room. Our host was super responsive to questions and it made for a very easy stay. A top rental in our book!

My family enjoyed our stay at Lakeshore Cottage. The location is great, access to the water is convenient, the house was well stocked with any amenity, cookware, or kitchen appliance. We did encounter a few small hiccups to which the host was responsive to our needs within minutes and solutions were provided within hours. We definitely would consider this place as our vacation destination again.

Great Property Right on the Water

We had a long family weekend with our four adult children and two teenagers. Loved laying in the lake and enjoyed a little fishing.

Great Time at the Lake

This is a great property on the shore of Lake Egypt. The house is beautiful and well equipped. There is nothing like waking each morning to beautiful lake views from the large picture window in bedroom! Will defiantly stay here again when in Southern Illinois

Family Vacation

We had a family vacation with our 4-college aged kids. The lake is beautiful and clean. We rented a boat and Lily Pad from Big Worm's -- super easy and affordable. The weather didn't always cooperate with our boating & fishing plans, but we played games in the sunroom and enjoyed the fantastic views. The area was very quiet and so peaceful. Great communication and we found everything as described.

Great Quiet Cottage on the Lake

This cottage was great and was beautifully decorated and recently updated. Everything was clean and well-kept. The morning view overlooking the lake from the dining porch was so serene. Not much flat yard space and maybe 30+ steps to get down to the pier, but was perfect for my young family and active kids.

Perfect little getaway

Our first impression was a bit rocky but the property manager jumped in and helped get everything straightened out right away. Such a beautiful lakefront home. Having the boat available to rent is a huge perk! Great sightseeing within 30 minutes of the house.

Updated and cozy lake house

The home has a clean, modern feel with farmhouse chic comfy. Lots of little touches throughout the home and plenty of space to spread out in bedrooms and living areas. The screened in porch leads to a large deck overlooking the lake. The dock is easily accessible with well maintained stairs. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Long weekend near SIU

Nicest house in the area, nicely decorated and perfect for families. We lucked out with almost 90 degree weather so we grilled and swam. Great communication from start to finish. Great alternative to Marion or Carbondale. We’ll be back!
