Coastal Chic Cottage with pool

"One Oar Missing" is a, coastal chic designed cottage set within a beautifully landscaped yard in a private setting with pool,hot tub, and fire pit. 15 minutes from Topsail Beach and downtown. Cottage is 400 sf and features include queen size bed, a large walk in shower in bathroom, large refrigerator, farmhouse sink, large patio with sitting area with bistro dining table and gas grill . Pool toys and towels provided. We provide fresh flowers and a complimentary bottle of wine for your enjoyment. Celebrating a special occasion? We operate a florist and can provide you with fresh flowers, chocolates and champagne for your loved one!

The Porters Neck area of Wilmington (2 miles), features several incredible restaurants including Kornerstone Bistro, Italian Bistro, Si Senor (upscale Mexican), Cape Fear Seafood, Slice of Life Pizza, Tidewater Oyster Bar, K 38 Baia Grill and others. We are located adjacent to Historic Poplar Grove Plantation which features walking trails and ponds. We are five minutes from Hampstead.

Feel free to bring your best friend Fido to meet and play with our Chocolate Lab, Bailey and our frenchie, Woody. Bailey provides gourmet treats for her guests! Don't worry about bringing coffee. We provide an array of condiments such as sugar, creamer, spices, bottled water and toiletries. Your hosts, Jim and Will anxiously await your visit!

Just the right size

A perfect workspace and relaxing place! Everything was right where you would think it would be and its so easy to walk in and relax. lovely space and so quiet and welcoming!

Great for a weekend

Property manager took a little while to respond to texts but overall we had a good stay. We went for the weekend. The building is like a tiny home on the back of his property. We were able to take our small dog. And there are obvious amenities for guests with dogs (dog bowls for food and treats).

Cute and Cozy

This spot is perfect if you want to explore Wilmington and the surrounding beaches. Conveniently located for exploring the North Carolina Coast. It's also perfect if you just need a space to get away and relax.

Wonderful gem

This place was s wonderful stay! Almost a full size kitchen, the pool was open and the bed comfortable. My boyfriend and i spent our birthday weekend in a comfortable, quiet and relaxed place. The hosts were extremely responsive if i had questions and the place was very clean. Definately stay there again when i visit Wilmington. Thank you for the memories!

Perfect weekend getaway! Lovely cottage with the feel of home. The location was awesome, everything was within 15 minutes of us. I would recommend this rental to anyone. The host was ready to get in touch with, check in and check out was easy and there was even fresh flower arrangements inside!

Was a beautiful cottage, looked exactly like the pictures! The cottage could have been cleaned a little better such as the shower, floors and outdoor patio area. The hosts were very kind and answered all questions. Was overall an amazing stay and we enjoyed ourselves!

Great Stay for Two

If you are a couple looking for a place for a long weekend getaway, this place is close to everything. Jim, the host was very responsive. The place is a little hard to find the first time but Jim assisted and we got right in. Did not use the pool and did not spend much time at the cottage itself.

Perfect for what we wanted

We wanted a quiet relaxing vacation all to ourselves, not a crowded beach. We wanted the sun, the pool, a hot tub and to read a book and be with our dogs. We got that. It was a quiet, lovely quaint little cottage that we really enjoyed. Jim, we very responsive every time I texted him prior to our stay and during with any questions. Really happy with our choice to stay here.

Cutest cottage there is!

We could not of been happier with our stay. Including my 14 year old son and 12 year old daughter, we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, pool, & the area. We would love to come back to stay longer than a week next time. There was just enough room for us. They even brought us fresh towels. The flowers were also a nice touch. Thank you for being such awesome hosts ❤️

Nice cottage

Loved the cottage. Never have I stayed anywhere full of beautiful fresh flowers. We visited multiple beaches easily from this location. The host Jim and Will were delightful! Loved our visit at the cottage!

Cute cottage bungalow

Little cottage stay, approx. 30 minutes from the downtown Wilmington area. Just be aware that the location is a part of owner’s back yard but you have direct access to the courtyard with a very cute relaxing area & pool. Thanks for the recommendations!

It's Own Little Oasis

Even though the property is located on a main thoroughfare, you don't know it once you are there. The courtyard, available for use by all guests is like a private hideaway, the perfect place to relax and enjoy a sunny afternoon. The cottage was adprable and comfortsble, access was simple, and even though my weekend activites kept me away, I was still able to enjoy the quiet and just relax. Thank you for the stay!

Nice visit

Exactly as described. I hate snakes and there was a snake skin next to our entrance. That is picky me but gross. A little small for two adults and our dog. Very cute inside and very nice of owners to let us and dog go in their pool. Would recommend to anyone wanting to see area around Wilmington.

A Little Slice of Paradise

If I could make this place my own, I'd be in paradise every day. This was perfect for a weekend get-away. Everything was clean and orderly when we walked in. The pool was cool and refreshing, the sitting/BBQ area was just waiting to be lounged on. The little extras (fresh cut flowers, dog & human treats, a bottle of wine) that were provided makes this vrbo hands down an 11 out of 10. Jim, Will, Bailey, Woody and Lloyd are wonderful hosts with great communication. If all VRBO owners were like this what an awesome world we would live in.

One Oar Missing so cute

What a lovely rental. Besides finding a few pieces of glass and metal on carpet and needing a good vacuum this rental was great! Sound bar kept going out on tv every 2-3 hrs and remote didn’t work to control so you did have to reset manually. Outside areas are fabulous! Little hard to find entrance off US17 but once you find it, easy to remember access.

Unavailable pool

Nice ambiance but not very clean. Lots of dust and dead bugs. No response from owner regarding problem's ie pool needed cleaning after hurricane Debby , grounds full of large weeds and unkept. Would not revisit.

Unkind rentors

Given wring code to enter, property was not clean...floors and counters, fridge, shower was dirty, spotty Internet service, rentors refused to show me how to turn on stove/convection oven..it would not turn on, I could not prepare my dinner so I ended up eating a cheese sandwich for supper, I left early.
