Welcome to The Sweet Escape~
Upon arrival to The Sweet Escape you will find a fun snack basket in the kitchen & bottled water in the fridge. You can also brew a cup of coffee with all the extras in case you need a pick me up!
If you need a quick nap, there are three comfortable beds (already made) with 100% high thread count, cotton sheets. You will find this on a very safe cul de sac in a quiet, wide street, low traffic neighborhood perfect for your morning walks~
The Sweet Escape is less than ten minutes from UNCW & fifteen minutes from Wilmington's Historic Downtown Riverfront. You can also walk just five minutes away to a coffee shop / restaurant & only a ten minute walk to Mayfair. Mayfair is Wilmington’s Premier Lifestyle Shopping Center that offers over 80 stores and 20 restaurants.
We have three bedrooms, featuring three very comfortable beds ~ One king & 2 queen beds. We have one full bathroom & a half bathroom. Our living room features a 65 inch smart TV along with a new leather sofa and swivel chair. We also have a step down den set up with new sofa, two chairs and a desk / chair duo. We also have a 43 inch smart TV in the den. There’s a pocket door that can keep the kids video sound out from the other room!
We offer a fully equipped kitchen with all large and small appliances. If you have any particular specialty item for the kitchen that you may need, please inquire and I'll make sure to have it for you. Kitchen leads out to our patio that is set up for relaxing by our beautiful garden / grill area and the fire pit (we provide firewood & kindling) The back yard is fenced in for your small children & pups safety and we have recently added overhead lighting features to enhance the outdoor ambiance, highlight the charm of the garden area and offer the perfect setting for evening conversations and photo ops! There is plentiful parking with room for an RV, boat & trailer (Municipal boat ramp is just under 3 miles away).
We take pride in our home and ensure that it's cleaned & sanitized properly for your stay.

A lovely and quiet neighborhood. The house was as promised and the beds were very comfy. The backyard was awesome to hang out in with a glass of wine and watch the hummingbirds. If you’re looking for a chill place with easy access to the main roads, I highly recommend booking this place.

This home was perfect for our family who was in town for a wedding. Neighborhood was quiet, the backyard was a beautiful place to sit and my pups enjoyed it. The home was spacious, clean and had everything we needed.

Perfect Place

My family had the best time. The place has everything you could want. The beds were all comfortable and the water pressure was wonderful. The fenced in yard was perfect for our little dog. We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect stay in a great location.

Sweet escape was such a perfect place to host family visiting. The home is very clean and complete with fabulous linens and all the comforts for a relaxing stay. The garden is delightful. We loved the 2 living room layout for different spaces to visit or read. Highly recommend! The location is in a quiet neighborhood situated perfectly to all of the conveniences of Mayfaire, Landfall and the beach and main roads but tucked away from the hustle. Check-in was smooth and communication with Heather was prompt and friendly. Would definitely stay there again!

Perfect Location

Wonderful house in a great location! The house was the perfect size for my family of four. We enjoyed the nice back yard and all the beautiful flowers. The house is less than 10 mins to Wrightsville Beach and no more than 15 mins to downtown Wilmington. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming again!

Great stay!

Our family had a fantastic time in this beautiful, cozy home! It was so nice to be just a few minutes’ drive from the beach, shopping, and anything else we needed. The backyard garden is a perfect place to sit in solitude with a cup of coffee early in the morning. We are already talking about planning our next stay!

We loved the house! It was very clean and nicely decorated! A lot of space and loved the back yard/patio! The host was easy to contact and responded in a timely manner! Very convenient to downtown and to Wrightsville Beach; 10 min to each! Would definitely recommend and rent again!!!

Communication with owner was excellent. House was clean however, it smelled musty. It is an older house and the smell of must got on our clothes and actually once I left it was in my hair. We had a wedding to attend and the location was awesome…. 3 mins from everything and with traffic maybe 10mins. The outside patio was great. It is fenced in, but I couldn’t tell behind the trees in the back if there was anyway possible my small dog could get out… So, I was fearful of my dog getting out of the backyard. It was a very quite neighborhood and we did enjoy our stay..

Stayed for a family wedding, mother's day celebration and a golf tournament. This house is just great. The backyard is amazing. All of us, dogs included, love hanging out back there. The house is well appointed and communication was simple, effective and easy. I would recommend this house for those that travel with their fur babies.

Nice stay

This home met all of our needs. It was well stocked. We really enjoyed the backyard. When we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house, help was there in minutes to get us in. The home is centrally located and just a quick drive to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.

2025 Spring Break

Clean a well equipped. Fenced back yard perfect for our dog. 15 min drive to Wrightsville Beach. Nice quiet neighborhood for families. Close to groceries, drug stores etc.

Short beach trip

The house was just what we needed for a short beach vacation, short drive to beach, medium drive to downtown but having the fenced back yard is a life saver when you have 3 dogs, it’s also nice that there wasn’t a 2 dog limit that so many other places have…we will for sure rent here again next time we are in Wilmington!!

Christmas visit with family

We loved this place. It was very cozy and the Christmas tree and decor made it extra special for us. We had everything we needed and would definitely love to stay in this home again! I didn’t want to leave.

Great Place!

Our family stayed at this place for 3 nights during September. It was very clean, beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was very safe and nice. There was a nice trail to walk our dog and the location was close to a beautiful shopping center and the beach. Our family stated that they would definitely stay there again.

Great host & great place for dogs

This house is exactly as advertised and then some. It is in a great location and I cannot say enough about how much my two dogs (pug and lab mix) loved the backyard. I was also there during the "epic snow storm" that hit Wilmington and the host and owners were on top of it and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed despite the unexpected winter weather and being snowed in! Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone!

Getaway

Despite poor weather we had a great time and enjoyed staying at this beautiful house. Great location with ease to the beach and downtown Wilmington. Dog friendly was a plus!!!
