Niki's Country Cottages - Oktoberfest is here! 20 minute drive to Fredericksburg where the fun has already begun - don't miss out on Texas Boot Stompin' fun in one of Texan's favorite vacation & shopping spots!

We hope you visit Kerrville, enjoy the town/activities/the wonderful resilient residents and see how quickly this town has turned around an unexpected flooding disaster.

This area of the Hill Country is known for their 279+ wineries, shops, restaurants/bars, music, dancing, unique boutiques, large ranches, German heritage with fabulous bakeries/restaurants. Enjoy Texan's History, Heritage and Hospitality..........

Driving into Kerrville will remind you of the European countryside with rooftops "peeking" out of the trees in rolling hills. Guadalupe River meanders through Kerrville and is abuzz with people swimming, kayaking, biking, walking along the river trail.

Many amenities nearby & short drives to Canyon Lake for boating, Boerne (darling town!), San Antonio is less than an hour drive. Unique towns each offering Texas world-renowned hospitality to visitors in their communities.

Enjoy the beautiful decorations, music, lights, Market Plaza, shopping & ice skating rink in downtown Fredericksburg during your winter stay in Kerrville.

We maintain our home continually & each season, we schedule larger projects. This spring/summer we installed a new HVAC system, new floor tile in the master shower, new roof and new front/back gutters, We want to assure our guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay at our cottage. Thus sometimes we block our calendar to complete a project - however, we always welcome inquiries, just in case we can open dates that may be blocked for an upcoming project - we'll "flex" our project, if possible!

The property is beautifully updated and maintained, large gathering area and open floor plan. Drive up appeal A!Master bedroom is especially spacious and private. The kitchen has everything you need for any kind of meal prep, appliances seemed new. We loved the interior, decor was an added pleasure to the cozy feeling. Each bedroom had a dedicated bathroom, all updated and lavishly built out. Backyard sitting area was private, but open. Yard was perfect for our little canine friend. Very well put together, made our trip perfectly relaxed. Thank you!

This was the perfect house for two couples, two kids, and an infant. We loved having three bathrooms with showers. The king bedroom was spacious. The neighborhood was quiet and safe.

Communication with host was excellent. This was just after the terrible Kerrville flood and she honestly communicated with us in detail about the level of damage to surrounding community so we could make an informed decision.

My wife and I have stayed in approximately 100 properties during our travels around the world. This property was one of the best properties that we have stayed at. We enjoyed our seven weeks stay at this property and would rate it a 10 if we could. A good overall summary is:Excellent Host - The host was just outstanding. Very responsive and easy to communicate with. Excellent Property - This property is newly remodeled with very high-end taste. Very comfortable, cozy and nicely decorated. Kitchen has everything needed with new appliances. Excellent Location - This property is located in a quiet older neighborhood. It is close to "everything." Restaurants, HEB grocery store, church, golf courses, are all very close by. Highly recommend this property.

Great house

House was very comfortable. Could have used more dishtowels. Kitchen cabinets VERY high. A small step stool would help. Neighborhood not upscale but was OK.

Excellent House & Stay

I wish I could give 10 stars. The house was excellent and just what we needed in Kerrville for my son's wedding. The bedrooms were perfect and the master suite was just beautiful! The house was so comfortable and well-stocked! This kitchen had everything we would/could have needed. I had to decorate 125 cupcakes and had ample room to do so. The neighborhood was very quiet and pleasant. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Our hosts were easy to contact and very helpful. Thank you so much!

Thanksgiving

My family used the house to host more family for the holiday. The house had plenty of space and was very clean. The only things that stood out for us is the walkway to the front door was not great for older guests so we all ended up walking in the mulch. Also two of the bathrooms are ensuite the third is not but the third bathroom is in the hallway. We would definitely book again.

Holiday getaway

Nicely renovated 3 bedroom 3 bath home. Unfortunately Kuereg offered but no coffee or tea products. We enjoyed watching movies from bed in the evening and the deer sightings were very enjoyable. Such a great house but would be better following a much needed dusting.

Excellent VRBO Experience

Very nice home and exactly as advertised. This is one of my best VRBO experiences - Excellent. Very clean and well decorated with a very functional kitchen - we had everything we needed. Nice patio for visiting and a complete laundry room. We were very pleased with the accommodations and will return.

Water sprinkler and cleaning

Water sprinkler came on and messed up car. Could not get out of front door to load car. Was 8:15 am. Don’t agree with stripping bed. Paid $ for cleaning and wanted us to do cleaning. Several vases in bedroom was dusty

Just like home

We stayed a little over two weeks at the property when our granddaughter was born. This was our second time to book this home. It is so comfortable and close to everything we need. We feel at home there and will return.

Homes have always been a "love" of mine, since middle-school :), looking at black/white photos of homes, circling the homes I wanted to buy, nationwide. My Mom would ask "what are you going to do with all of those houses?" Little did we know I would have the opportunity and the blessing to follow one of my dreams. Growing up very poor, in a large family, it never occurred to me that I was just "dreamin".

I/we enjoy looking, finding, purchasing and decorating each unique home. We have been welcoming guests (national & international) to our homes since 2013 in Colorado and Texas. It is my favorite "hobby" :)

I currently work full-time in the Healthcare Industry and prior to changing careers, I started up, owned/managed my company for many years, specializing in providing "Ambassadors" (staff) for conventions, tradeshows & special events, nationwide.

I look forward to welcoming guests to our newest addition "Pickled Pepper Cottage" and hope you will enjoy your stay in our home , your time in beautiful Hill Country of Texas and will jump at the chance to follow your "dreams".

Close to downtown, river, golf course; 1960s remodeled home (one of my fav home eras), smaller with character, street appeal, with a little "spiffing" up projects planned. David and I enjoy working on the homes as well as decorating, thus we have "projects" planned for Pickled Pepper Cottage.

Located in beautiful Hill Country, Kerrville has many amenities to offer guests and close to unique areas, towns, activities which guests can enjoy. Wineries, excellent restaurants, music (nightly - somewhere close by), dancing, rivers, lakes, fishing, boating, hunting, biking, hiking, shopping, ranches, hour drive to San Antonio and 1.5 hours to Austin. Many beautiful places in between.

Come enjoy the hospitality of Texas and Texans - Take home a Texas "Star" to remind you of Texas and to follow your "Star" .
