The house features 1 cozy bedroom, 2 comfortable beds plus an extra pull-out bed, a fully equipped kitchen, A/C, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, and a private terrace. Perfect for couples, families, photographers, birdwatchers, divers, and travelers seeking an authentic eco experience. Great Stay!

The location was quiet, and we really enjoyed the garden and pool. The host was extremely attentive and responsive. Close to great beaches.

You won’t regret staying here. It’s well equipped to prepare meals to include a briquette BBQ. The unit has 2 mini split air conditioners to keep you cool along with a well maintained pool. The flora is amazing with dozens of orchids, palm trees and fruit bearing papaya tree. Wild birds fill the air with their calls. The compound is very secure and the neighborhood quiet except for the occasional ATV, which the noise is muffled by the surrounding block wall. Tavo is very communicative and he made access very easy with pictures and maps. We plan on coming back in 2028 with our extended family.

I’m a world traveler, nature lover, scuba diver, and photographer. I deeply believe in environmental conservation and designed Casa Itzamná and Chak Chel to blend harmoniously with the surrounding Mayan jungle while providing a comfortable and memorable stay.

Hosting is more than offering a place to sleep—it’s about helping guests experience the authentic side of Cozumel. Whether you’re looking for hidden beaches, the best diving spots, local restaurants, or unique experiences, I’ll be happy to share my favorite recommendations.

I chose this place because it offers something that is becoming increasingly rare: a true connection with nature, history, and tranquility. El Cedral is one of the most historic and authentic areas of Cozumel, surrounded by ancient Mayan heritage and the beauty of the island’s tropical jungle. According to Mayan tradition, this region was dedicated to the worship of the goddess Ixchel, the goddess of fertility, while our home is named after her husband, Itzamná, the Mayan god of the sky, wisdom, and creation. Every detail of Casa Itzamná was designed to respect its natural surroundings while providing modern comfort. My hope is that every guest experiences the same sense of peace, wonder, and connection that inspired us to build this special place.
