Built in 1910, the space is largely original and features furnishings sourced from classic Grand Rapids' furniture makers. The homeowners are restoring this house to its original charm and invite you to stay as the transition continues.

Charming home! Close enough to Uber to the new Acrisure Amphitheater and downtown easily. Very clean and the towels smelled great. I look forward to staying here again.

Vintage home in a wonderful location to walk to restaurants, coffee shops, shopping, and so much more. Love the area. Busier street but quiet in the house and in a beautiful neighborhood.Lots of space. We were there during extremely high temps and the upstairs did not cool very well. With extra fans we slept comfortably though. Would stay again

The house is in a great location. Walkable to many great restaurants, ice cream, bars and the farmers market. The house was roomy and the beds were comfortable. I'd stay here again.

Weekend trip to celebrate graduation

The house was neat, spacious and very charming. Easy walk to East Town, and close to downtown Grand Rapids so we could easily celebrate our son’s college graduation.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

Welcome to our new home! We are happy that you are here. As you might be able to tell, this is a house with history. In fact, we are the home’s fourth owners since it was built in 1910 by a nephew of Grand Rapids’ founding settler, John Ball. Ball’s nephew Waldo was a furniture salesman who represented some of Grand Rapids’ biggest furniture manufacturers. We have taken inspiration from this history, and the largely unmodified state of the home, in selecting furnishings, many of which are period and from right here in Grand Rapids.

Your stay with us is integral to our work in preserving this beautiful home. We do not operate a short-term rental business with multiple properties but are using Airbnb and VRBO to fund the restoration work described above and to share a bit of Grand Rapids' history with its visitors. In the meantime, please know that we are working hard to remedy the home’s few issues.

Thank you for helping us ensure that the home's beautiful façade will proudly greet the people of Grand Rapids for another hundred years.
