Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. The Cottage is located within walking distance to restaurants, fast food chains, fishing, and even one of the many beaches in Galveston (Less than one mile). Amusement and water parks such as Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn are just minutes away from the Cottage. To top it off you can walk around the corner and rent a slingshot to ride on the beach.
The space
Unlike a hotel room or crowded condominium, Galveston beach cottage offers you everything you need to feel at home; from a full stocked kitchen including pots, pans, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, french press, slow cooker, air fryer etc. To UHD TV's in every room with high speed Wi-Fi.
The pantry has the essentials for you to prepare your meals ( Oil, salt, pepper, Etc.).
The Cottage is located less than a mile from Galveston Beach. It’s walking distance to restaurants, fast food (Whataburger, KFC, Dominos, Subway, Jack & the box etc), Drug stores (CVS, Walgreens), Liquor stores (Specs, Loco liquors) and shops (Marshalls, Ross, Tuesday morning, Etc).
We have decorated to give you the "Beach Feel". We truly believe that you will feel as confortable as in your own home.
The Home includes 2 spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, closet space, dressers and nightstands and UHD TVs where you can watch Amazon prime and netflix.
We provide linen, towels, Beach towels located in the living room under the coffee table, Shampoo and conditioner.
For your safety we have smoke detectors in every area as well as a fire extinguisher and escape ladder.
The cottage has front and rear decks where you can watch the incredible sunrise and sunsets.
There is covered parking space for 2 vehicles.
Guest access
You'll have access to the whole house including the front and back deck and the whole downstairs covered patio with tables, chairs and BBQ pit to enjoy the outdoors. In the back you'll have a place to play the game cornhole and horse shoes. Close to everything you need right off 61st!

Easy check in comfy beds, ac great!

We were here to meet friends from Iowa so we realky only slept and showered at house but everything was ckean and comfy.

Great little spot. Short drive to all around the island.

Cute property. Will be back to stay at this place. We used the cornhole boards (recommend upgrading boards) and the grill under the house (grill needs to be replaced but we made it work).

Great place!

This house was perfect for our little getaway weekend! The neighborhood doesn’t look the greatest but the house was everything we needed and more. Beds were very comfortable and overall the house was very clean and organized. Didn’t use the kitchen and washer/dryer other than the fridge but it had everything you need. TVs in all rooms and WiFi worked great! Host was fast at responding when I reached out to them. Just note there is not a spa tub though if you’re looking for that but it didn’t affect our stay. We would definitely book this location again when coming back to town.

Hidden Gem

This was a total little hidden gem!!!! From the outside you could tell it was a little older of a home NOT BAD just not brand new. There was enough room the park a Ford F150 super crew cab and a trailer under it on the concrete pad and still have room for the picnic table and fire pit and a hammock too!!! The Harley Trike had room also. Then you go up the stairs which could use a little more love but were very sturdy. Then you get inside and OMGOSH…..the inside was beautiful!!! Every single on the inside was new modern and perfect !!! The bed was so perfect!!! We slept like babies. TVs WiFi and a great kitchen. Seriously don’t let the outside fool you….this place was perfect!!! And the next door neighbor was really nice too. Close to stores and restaurants and only a quick sprint to either the beach or the historic Strand. We will be back!!!

Dirty

The house was dirty. My son was crawling around on the floor and had black on his knees and feet from touching the floor. There was trash left from the previous renters. Mouse poop in one bathroom, a live cockroach found in the entry way of the house, and centipedes in the other bathroom. There were also brown stains on the bedding and on the plastic cover of the pullout couch. There were several items broken in the house including one bedroom door, a utility closet door, and toaster oven. Communication with the owner was great until I informed them of the bugs and mouse poop, and then I got no response. It was a pretty expensive stay for all of the things wrong with it. It is not within walking distance to the beach, or any of the fun things to do in Galveston.

Thanks for your review but like we’ve discussed we have professional cleaners every stay and we’ve responded every response. The home is close to every restaurant on 61st street. 5 min drive to the beach. We’ve never had any complaints since we’ve active on short term rental platforms. Thanks again for the stay sorry if it didn’t meet your expectations.

Was happy until charged for something we didn’t do.

So, for the most part, we enjoy this property however, upon arriving, we had a budget in mind to make our own food for most of the days that we stayed. Problems were put into this effect when the oven did not work. Had this mom of three now stressed out after driving 16 hours. I contacted the host and they had no idea it was even broken. After our first day at the beach, I wanted to wash towels because we would be going to the waterpark the next day come to find out the washing machine and dryer. Also did not work well at all. The owner had refunded us for the oven not working which was fine. However when we came home, they ended up charging us $100 more for a couple of things that I KNOW we did not do, like a broken table lake and a broken toilet seat. This house was not properly taken care of or inspected before we arrived and we got blamed for something that we didn’t do. I hope this doesn’t happen to future guests.

Thank you for visiting and glad you enjoyed your stay. Sorry for the oven situation as we stated didn’t know the oven went out before your arrival. The washer and dryer will not work properly if it’s compacted and full with a lot of clothes and beach towels as it’s too heavy and cause an error. The home was inspected as the cleaning crew will clean the toilets and table and found that the toilet seat was broke and table leg as well after the stay. Again thank you for visiting Galveston beach cottage.
