Please read all about our guest cottage! This rustic 1940's, New England farm cottage sits surrounded by open space in the Saugatucket River Valley, located in the Heart of South County! There are many gardens and outdoor spaces here to enjoy peacefully after a long day of adventure. The property is surrounded by a tree plantation, offering peaceful nights or mornings on the deck and patio. or try the heavenly outdoor shower after a day at the beach. There is a seasonal herb garden, and the kitchen is well stocked. With a central South County location, the cottage has a rare blend of convenience and solitude. Close to beaches, restaurants, shopping, rail, URI, and all points north and south. Newport is a scenic 20 minutes away. The house sits back and up from the road, has a beautiful night sky, and plenty of off street parking. The country road leads to an easy commute to anywhere you want to go. Most destinations are only a 5 to 20 minute ride away. 5 minutes to Rt 1 N&S. 5 minutes to the business district of Wakefield. You can stock up and never go shopping, or "run into town" for a last minute item. Golf courses, Great Restaurants, URI Campus, NOAA, Grad School of Oceanography, South County Beaches, Museums, the Block Island Ferry, the City of Newport and Historical Landmarks are all within a 15 mile radius. Narragansett Town Beach is the closest Ocean Beach at 6 miles. Many of the state's top restaurants under 10 miles. So much to do in the surrounding area - from wineries to breweries, from country to coast. We are not corporate, we are pure New England, with everything you need for a comfortable and memorable stay.

This was our third stay at the cottage and it was just as wonderful as the other two stays. The cottage is so peaceful and very well kept. Victoria is an absolutely amazing host. The cottage is very well organized, super clean, and tranquil. There is wonderful outdoor space for grilling, reading, or just being.

Garden retreat

This is a beautiful and unique property. It is very private and feels isolated from the world, and yet it is close to everything you could possibly want.The house is fully stocked, especially the kitchen that has every utensil you might need to cook a large meal. My husband and I enjoyed every minute and I especially liked the natural gardens.We will go back anytime we are able, to just relax and unplug from the daily stresses of everyday life.

Loved the location. It was close to everything we needed. Had an emergency and had to take in Grandkids for a couple of nights, didn't realize it was adult's only so had to check out early.

Wonderful!

This was our second stay at the cottage and it was just as fantastic as our first stay in June 2024. The atmosphere is very peaceful, calming, and invites restfulness. It’s very close to great beaches and restaurants as well as excellent vintage shops.

Serenity now!

We had the pleasure of meeting the owner the day before we left (five day stay). She was a delightful, caring person who truly believes in hospitality. We entered this extremely clean cottage to find not only staples, but some thoughtful treats in the refrigerator. The outside was a haven! Peace, calm, & serenity exuded from every corner of this property. I sat for hours enjoying the well attended country landscape and walked almost every part of this enchanting property. This property was wonderful, the Pease and Quiet, the open area and property were just relaxing. So much better than staying in a cold hotel room with no fresh air, scenic view of any open space or fresh air. Here we were able to cook outside, enjoy the quiet peaceful night breeze and just stare at the stars sitting on the outdoor patio. We were able to light a nice fire in the fire pit and enjoy the warm fire late into the night. The amenities in the house were great, everything one would need were there, just like being at home. That is what it felt like, being home with all the things we wish we had in our own place. All the amenities plus the special benefits of being away from home but feeling like we wish it was like a place we would want to actually live in. We will definitely stay here the next time we are back in this part of the country. The place was so hart warming with all the detail that was placed in making the home so warm and friendly, Thanks to the datils that our host, Victoria Silvestri made in welcoming us to this wonderful place. Victoria was very attenuative to all our needs and wants, any time, she made us feel Special and was a great home welcoming feeling when we first walked into the house. We can't say how wonderful it felt being there the only time we were a bit sad was when we had to pack up and look back and knew we were going to miss being in such a place and heading back to our fast paced life back into our living location.

The little Farm Cottage was unbelievably perfect. It was beautifully decorated, had all the comforts of home plus more.The setting was so peaceful and serene surrounded by beautful wild flower beds. Secluded yet so close to nearby attractions, beaches, great restaurants. we hope to return next year

A Cozy Little Farm Cottage

Victoria’s cottage is always our go to stay for our summer vacation visit to Rhode Island. The location is away from the crowds but easy access to all the tourist attractions. The cottage is very comfortable and the property has gorgeous gardens. We love the vases of flowers about the house, the treats in the refrigerator and especially enjoy the outdoor shower after a long day at the beach!

Victoria is one of the most pleasant and communicative owners I have ever worked with and I've been traveling for 15 years. She was responsive accommodating to some last minute request and couldn't be nicer. Her property is exactly as appetized in a beautiful farm, setting, quiet close to go. The property is well accommodated , quaint and perfect for my wife and I.. the jazz festival, which is where I had work.

Narragansett (in South County) is my home town. I have a local's knowledge of the area, and love to share. Traveling for me is a favorite thing, but I always gravitate back home to Rhode island. I have done many things in my professional life, but I especially enjoy hospitality. I am also currently a landscaper by trade, and strive to create healthy ecosystems - both for my clients, and for my own backyard. Healthy living for all is my goal. You will find this at the cottage - as no pesticides are used, and cleaning products are chosen with care. The property also serves my landscaping business, and there is an office and efficiency in the lower level that I use.
While hosting, I give my guests privacy but am often onsite and available when needed.
I am sociable and enjoy sharing my area knowledge and my home. Although I will be on the property often, I respect the spaces and privacy of my guests. If there are any questions or requests, I am a quick text away.

We love to host! Attention is paid to detail to create a home away from home. There are few places in South County with both solitude of landscape and proximity to area attractions! The outside world is full of adventure, but you come back to a retreat. We are a tight knit farm community here in the valley, and we all look out for each other as neighbors. Nature and preservation take precedence. I always feel taken care of here, surrounded by history, conservation land and life.

This is a pesticide and poison free zone. We also do our best to clean with non toxic products - creating a space that is healthy for mind, soul and body. Our property is a living eco-system. The water from the well is pure and delicious. The goal is to build a better community through common sense practices. Appreciation is abundant here as we all share in the beauty of the land and it's inhabitants. We are a dark sky neighborhood, and star gazing is possible on a clear night. The property is surrounded by a fir tree plantation, privately owned by the Farmers Daughter nursery. It creates a buffer from the bustling world beyond, and wildlife can often be seen coming and going. You can often hear the low of a cow, the hoot of an owl, or the yip of a coyote.
