Things to Know
A few things we would like you to know before you arrive, so your stay is as comfortable as possible.
🌡️ Colorado mountain homes are not typically equipped with central air conditioning. Thanks to the cool alpine climate, summer evenings generally range between 45° and 55°F. Opening the windows allows fresh mountain air to naturally cool the home, and ceiling fans and portable fans are provided throughout for added comfort.
🏔️ Blue River sits above 9,600 feet. We recommend taking your first day gently and drinking plenty of water while you adjust to the altitude.
🌊 The creek runs fast and cold, especially in spring and early summer. Please keep children and dogs close on the bridges and banks.
🦌 Wildlife is common along the creek and forest edge. Please enjoy it from the deck, never approach, and keep dogs close.
🚙 Four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive is highly recommended from October through May.
