Beautiful cabin and I absolutely loved the Koi pond and looking at the fishes. Plenty of firewood and the cabin was immaculate. Also very clean! I would come back again and would recommend.

Beautiful cabin. Great use of an old log barn. Loved our stay there especially sitting on the porch relaxing to the sound of the falls from the koi pond. Will definetly keep this in mind for future stays

Anniversary trip

My husband and wanted a beautiful and cozy place to stay to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary, and this was the perfect place. That had all we need and we were not far from the center of town in Mount Airy. We will ve back to stay here.

I stayed this past week (Monday through Friday) by myself and there is nothing negative to say about it. I felt so peaceful and safe there. It was perfect. The cabin was so clean and had everything I needed. I will definitely stay there again and I will tell everyone I know about how great it is.

Quick get away

An amazing log cabin all to ourselves! We enjoyed feeding the koi, watching the dragonflies, and counting all the frogs from the spacious wrap around porch. Interior is furnished with new appliances and the bed is super comfortable. Great place to unwind and reconnect.

Fantastic cabin near wine country

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The fireput provided warmth on one nice clear night, and the relaxing sound of the water flowing at the pond was always a nice relief. The communication from the owners was exactly what anyone would want. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

Stunning cabin on a very private setting. Big beams full of history mixed with today's modern comforts. Clean, bright and quiet. The koi pond is something that I want in my own backyard! Well done saving a part of the past and sharing it with us and future guests. Thank you!

Excellent property!

This cabin is perfect for a private romantic getaway. everything is brand new, immaculately clean, peaceful setting with relaxing shady wraparound porch overlooking a lovely koi pond. Weber grill and supplied fire pit topped off every evening.Wonderfully located for Mt Airy/Elkin/Blue Ridge Music Center and Parkway, and wineries. Owners were very accommodating to special requests and check-in was easy. Will definitely stay here again.

Great place to truly get away from daily hectic life. We had a blast. Climbed pilot mountain one day and biked local trails another day. We were upset about one thing and it upset us quite a bit. We never got to see Betty the cat lol. We would have been the happiest people in the world if we had but we will stay again in hope we will see her next time lol.

Wow! What an absolutely beautiful cabin, both inside and out! We were immediately impressed by the peaceful surroundings and thoughtful touches throughout. Feeding the fish in the koi pond was such a fun and calming experience, and ending our evenings under the stars by the fire pit was pure magic.The hosts went above and beyond—stocking the cabin with bottled water and everything you could need for your morning coffee or tea. It’s clear they truly care about their guests’ comfort.The location was perfect—close to several lovely wineries and charming small towns that are a joy to explore. This cabin was the perfect getaway to relax, unwind, and recharge. We can't wait to come back!

Rustic and charming

The cabin was perfect for a couple. The extra details, such as the porch swing and rockers, really added to the peaceful atmosphere. The owners were great to work with as they responded in a timely fashion. The coffee bar was amazing with many options of tea, coffee, or hot chocolate with the toppings. There was firewood for the firepit and the little waterfall on the koi pond sound like a babbling brook. It was very relaxing and peaceful. We would definitely stay again!

With the help of “The Log Whisperer” this retired log barn was disassembled in “Mount Pilot” and brought to its new home.

Custom timber frame vaulted ceilings, one of a kind staircase and a King Size bed all from local builders (and Brothers) Larry, Gary and Bryan Stone owners of Fisher Peak Timber-Frames out of Mayberry!

Hand crafted cabinetry and finishing touches by Master Craftsman, Michael Westervelt.

A special “Thank You!” to Denver Lee Taylor, Manager of Massey Logging & Grading, LLC. who helped Jason to oversee the entire project from Day 1! We love you Denny!
