We rented this home over the July 4th holiday expecting a three-bedroom, two-bath property, but unfortunately only two of the bedrooms were actually usable. The third "bedroom" appears to have been an enclosed porch, and it was unbearably hot during our stay. Even with the air conditioning running, we could barely step into the room during the day, let alone sleep there at night. We tried hanging sheets and comforters over the windows to block the heat, but it made very little difference. In the Florida summer, I don't believe this room should be advertised as a functional bedroom unless the temperature issue is addressed.Another disappointment was the pool. We checked in on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. and found that the pool was extremely hot. I contacted the property manager immediately, and they did send someone out the following day. It turned out the pool heater had been left on. Because the water was so hot, we weren't really able to enjoy the pool until Friday and Saturday. Considering this was a July stay in Florida, it was surprising that the heater had been left on and that this wasn't caught before our arrival.The management team did respond when we reported the issues, which I appreciated. However, these problems significantly impacted our stay, especially since we booked the home expecting three usable bedrooms and a pool we could enjoy throughout our vacation.

The host company was great, proactively communicated several times, rental was ready about 30 minutes early, and it was clean. The location is walking distance from roughly 10 restaurants, multiple shops, a small grocery store, and most importantly... the beach. There was a beach wagon and two beach chairs available for us when we stayed as well. Not sure if they came with the unit or were left by prior guests, but they were an excellent surprise. The pool and hot tub were excellent and clean. Pro tip: read the book in the unit to understand how the pool heat system works. Basically push the spa button the wall and it only heats, hot. When that is off the heater warms both the pool and spa. The unit has all the basic needs and a good fridge with ice maker. It would be helpful if they supplied a few garbage bags versus the one you start with as we scrambled at departure at 6am to get all the garbage packaged up. The washer and dryer both worked fine. The dryer was pretty noise though. On two of the listing pictures, is lists the Master bedroom as a King, it is definitely not a king. The bed listings lower on VRBO listing show it as a queen, that is accurate. Great location and we'd definitely go back.

Short visit and worth every minute. The rental was comfortable and pool and whirlpool are a nice change from the beach. The location was perfect - walk down the street to the beach. Easy walk to French bakery and good coffee, plus fish market. Made taking a vacation peaceful and fun. Thank you!’

Tropical oasis!

It couldn't be more beautiful or centrally located. The house is like a tropical paradise. Plenty of covered parking, spa and pool were crystal clear and the perfect temperature. Fruit trees everywhere along with flowers so drinking coffee in the morning was very enjoyable. Will be back for sure!

So great

This house was everything we wanted. Very spacious, pretty, well stocked and close to restaurants and ice cream! The pool and hot tub are gorgeous with mango trees and beautiful foliage. We want to plan our stay here every year! Management was great too! We had a door alarm go off at midnight and had very prompt and friendly resolution. Great stay!

Great location, interior needs attention

Pros: Proximity to the beach was great (2-3 short blocks) The backyard with large pool and hot spa was amazing Close to a couple little shops with food and necessities Comfortable furniture (hard to believe in a vacation home, right?) Cons: Hard to keep temp comfortable due to elevated home; room in front of the house remained a bit too warm for people to sleep well Pool stays leafy / buggy no matter how many times you skim it (not important to us but maybe important to others) Water leaks from slight to moderate in master bed / bath (the ceiling above the counter was horror movie level bad haha) Note - Some of the water damage may have been new but some of it was definitely pre-existing the recent storm. Ugly ceiling spots didn't ruin my vacation but I was a little concerned about the possibility of mold.

Run down beach house

This did not feel like a beach vacation home. Shutters made it feel very dark and isolated from the the beautiful surroundings. The primary bedroom advertised a king size bed, it was not, it was a queen. Response from management was that “furnishings are subject to change.” The walls, doors, and baseboards were dirty and in bad condition, some rotting and/or damaged throughout the home. The steps leading up to the front door are in bad need of sanding and repainting. The outdoor pool area was run down - umbrella was broken and falling apart, part of the siding was melted, yard was not cleaned up or trimmed, and debris/fallen mangoes were left behind in the yard. The pool was upwards of 93 degrees. The gulf was cooler than the pool. Hot water was coming from the jets yet we were told multiple times the heater was not on. It did not cool down at all until the last day. It felt like we were staying at a run down hotel. We have stayed on AMI 6-7 times and this was by far the most disappointing experience.

The host was very responsive. The property management group even sent a portable AC for the front room. Therein lies the only problem, the front room was a converted space and was hard to keep cool. The location and the pool are perfect for family entertainment though. The island itself is amazing. We would stay here again.
