Southbay by the Gulf, is a quaint little townhome community located on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This secluded property offers such a variety of vacation homes; you will be drawn back, time after memorable time. Our units feature private patios to enjoy beautiful views from. Southbay has 2 swimming pools and 2 kiddy pools; we heat the south pool seasonally. If it's tennis that you love, we have that too. Our grounds are made for walking so park at your front door and enjoy a stroll through the property while feeding the birds, fish and turtles.

Wonderful unit. Spacious enough for our girls group and kiddos. Very close to beach with private access. A couple slight issues but the owner was quick to respond and help. Would definitely return again!

Great location easy access

Overall enjoyed our stay at this property. The upstairs was a little hot in the afternoon and evenings. I turned the thermostat down to 60 degrees, but it still was reading 75 couldn't get it to cool down below 70.

Good location

There were lots of ants in the rooms. Some got into the bed in one of the rooms. We killed three roaches. The cigarette can outside was full and we had to throw it out and trash was outside already when we arrived. Because we booked a week stay you would hope to at least have trash bags to accommodate the whole trip but we had to purchase more trash bags. The TV remote wasn’t working downstairs and we hadn’t noticed until the last 2 days. The walk to the beach wasn’t bad. Too bad there wasn’t a whole lot of shade over the pool areas.

Thank you Maira. I am so happy to hear the walk to the beach wasn't too bad. It is pretty wonderful being so close to a lake and the Gulf of Mexico. I'm not sure where the cigarettes came from. It may have been a neighbor or somewhere else. Thank you for throwing it away. This is a non-smoking vacation home. The insects were treated by the HOA. The TV's are in great working order. I do hope you reach out again and receive the 5-star service you deserve.

Overall

Location and overall experience was great.. Not as nice as the other southbay townhouse I stayed in last year. Master bedroom ceiling fan did not work as well as tv I could’ve called to have it all fixed but when on vacation I just want to relax and not have to deal with anything..

Kitchen stove was dirty. Had to clean before using. Fan in master bedroom did not work. The downstairs floor felt like it had sand on it. Could have been mopped. Carpet on stairs needed cleaning

Holiday fun enjoyed

Enjoyed location, felt safe , our first time in Destin! The rental was dated I assumed it was with the reasonable price . We had to call a plumber. The fill valve was broken and they came out to fix it within 24 hours but I did have to wait 24 hours. The toaster only toasted half of the bread it needs to be replaced. The scissors are rusty and needs to be replaced. I use to open instant coffee and food items s. I did let them know the first day that two lightbulbs are out in the ceiling fan in the living room and they were never replaced. But gs or popcornin the fixture . However, the beds are comfortable and everything was clean and we really enjoyed our stay. It was close to the beach just a short walk. I would stay in this community but I would try another rental. Very quiet and roomy.

The Unit was Nothing special

The unit was a little disappointing. I never saw a host or office person. I called. They did respond in a timely manner to take care of the problems. The clothes dryer didn't dry clothes until they came and adjusted the location. A chair leg broke. They fixed it. We had problems with the ice maker. It worked but not real well. I thought the supplies were a little too sparse. One dish towel, no coffee filters, scissors that didn't work, no hair dryer which I did expect. The paint was peeling in places. The vents were rusted. We had a good time and the unit was acceptable but nothing special for the price. The unit was older so the applinces were older but worked. The master bed was comfortable but the other 2 beds and he couch sagged in the middle. Like I said my kids had a good time. The unit left a little to be desired.
