Welcome to Down East! Harkers Island is a tidy, friendly area, still unspoiled by all the “McMansions” dotting the coast nowadays. If peace and tranquility are what you’re looking for…and fishing…lots of fishing…congratulations--you’ve found your happy place!
This bright, comfy, well-appointed 2BR, 1BA home comfortably sleeps 6 people. There are 2 Queen beds in one BR and 1 Queen in the other. All beds come equipped with a remote-controlled tilting mechanism so you can sleep comfortably. Prepare meals for the family in the fully equipped kitchen. Eat dinner inside in front of the massive picture windows overlooking the sound and Brown Island, or dine outside on the huge screened-in porch and watch the hundreds of birds fly by daily on their regular flight path. Play a board game, read a book, play the piano, have a delicious cocktail on the porch swing, walk to the end of the island and explore the trails at the Core Sound Waterfowl Museum, go swimming, go fishing (did we mention fishing?)—whatever you do, relax and enjoy yourself!
We provide a starter kit of toilet paper and paper towels. We also provide basic spices in the kitchen, dish and hand soaps, coffee filters, linens and towels. Bring your mosquito repellent!
