Everything about our stay was great! We got to see the manatees off the dock, enjoy the pool, bikes and kayaks. My only suggestion would be to clearly mark the step on the grey decking on the dock. We had someone trip on the step and fall, luckily not into the canal!

Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed the manatees, pool, bikes, and kayaks—that’s exactly the kind of experience we hope our guests have. I really appreciate you pointing out the step on the dock. Safety is so important, and I’ll make sure we get that more clearly marked right away to help prevent any future trips or falls. Thanks again for staying with us—we’d love to host you again anytime!

This property had everything your family could possibly. The pool was amazing and had pool toys and floaties to use. The sunsets from the top deck was a perfect way to end each day. The bikes and kayaks were also great to use. The kitchen is fully stocked and we never felt like we were missing something. The property was clean and very well taken care of. We will definitely be back!

Great stay!

We had a great stay! The house was in the perfect location, close to everything we needed but still peaceful and relaxing. We absolutely loved the outdoor space and totally vibed with the setup. Inside, the décor had a charming beachy Keys feel that made it feel like a true getaway. We’ll definitely be back!

Amazing place for our family!

We are so happy we booked with Pineapple Properties! Meredith was quick to reply to my silly questions. The house was clean and well stocked! We loved the kayaks and games in the house and being on the canal gave us unlimited fishing and fun! This was our first time in Marathon and we truly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely recommend this property!

PERFECT WEATHER

My family stayed at Blue Shell for a week. The house and the pool were perfect. No complaints at all. Beds were comfortable, home was clean and fully stocked. Very enjoyable stay. The neighborhood was ok and if I wasn't visiting with a boat I wouldn't look for a home on a canal. Sort of stinky and nasty looking

Nice pool along with great management!

House was well stocked and comfortable, along with good amenities. The pool was a nice size and relaxing. A straight fast shot to the ocean, and nice and new. The neighborhood is in transition but very quiet. The management team was great! They put together a book on the area that was the best we have seen, I learned some new fishing regulation and clarifications. Great Experience!

Marathon Fl

This is a very cute well decorated cleaned house with a nice private pool. The pool has lots of loungers and chairs for everyone . The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of dishes, cooking appliances and towels. The neighborhood is in transition to rental homes but it is very quiet and safe. It is also close and easy to get to several groceries stores and drug stores. We really have enjoyed our time here and would rebooked this for future visits.

Clean and quiet home on a canal

Overall, we enjoyed our stay on this property. It was very clean and the space was adequate for a group of 6. We enjoyed the private pool and outdoor/indoor games and other amenities included. It was a quiet street minus the rooster who liked to sing at all hours. My only callout would be location - it's a drive to any beach and upon driving into the street it appears very rundown with some of the other properties. We always felt safe though.

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay! You all were wonderful guests and I'm so pleased you enjoyed the property. The beach is less than 10 minutes away and the house in located centrally, between both of them. The neighborhood is in transition, but there are multimillion dollar homes all around this property. That is VERY typical of the keys from Key Largo to Key West.

Great stay at Blue Shell!

Our family recently had a week stay at Blue Shell in Marathon, FL. We enjoyed our time at the house, the use of the pool and water access for the boat. Navigating into the canal from open water can be a bit tricky at low tide but is doable and we felt more comfortable after the first time. Southern winds made the canal quite dirty with seaweed and other debris, but that was of no fault to the home owner and would expect with northern winds for the canal to be clean. House was really clean upon arrival and we had no issues while there. We would definitely consider this location again in the future. Thank you!

So happy you all had a great time! I do wish weather would always cooperate, but thankfully it didn't affect your stay much. The access to open water at this house is fast, but depending on tide it can be a little tricky but I've never had a guests that could not navigate it. Thank you all for being such wonderful guests and I hope you can return!

Beautiful Blue

Blue Shell is a perfect home away from home for vacationing in the Florida Keys! Very clean & decorated beautifully with lots of amenities for relaxing & fun in the sun. Complete with a small pool, bikes, kayaks, outdoor grill and plenty of seating areas. Great for a family of 4 or two couples. One minor downfall is the street and canal are very narrow for turning a boat around and trailering/parking a larger boat. Smaller boats are a better fit for this property. Overall this home will not disappoint!

Awesome place

We loved our stay. Our group was 2 families (4 adults and 3 kids under 12). The house was clean and very well stocked. The included bikes/kayaks/games were a nice extra. We rented a boat and the dockage was perfect (tip for future renters with boat: the canal is tight for turning your boat around- we found that backing the boat up upon return, all the way down the canal is much easier than turning around in the canal). The pool was awesome (pay the extra for the heat- so worth it). Maintenance manager, Pete, and property manager, Meredith, were extremely helpful and responsive with questions we had. Thank you for a great stay!

Clean and Comfortable Home with a Fastastic Pool

We spent a week a Blue Shell in March and had a wonderful experience. The home is extremely clean, and we found it to be well-equipped and perfect for our needs. The pool was amazing - very few rental homes have a pool this clean and sparkling. There is plenty of seating outside and all of it was clean and it great condition. We opted for the pool heat and were so happy we did since we are native Floridians and would have otherwise not used it as much. We love Marathon and visit often but found this home and rental experience to be one of our best yet. Communication was excellent and timely. We would not hesitate to rent this home or from this agency again.

Our stay was overall great. A few hiccups, but Merideth was quick to reply. Beyond the control of the property owner, there was a lot of loud construction in the neighborhood. There was no barrier from the road to the pool area, which was a bit of a surprise and made us feel a little exposed. But by the end of the week, we were used to it. There was an odor in the home which I know was most likely due to being on the channel. However, after a few days, we adapted to it. Again, not anything the owner could have done. Just something to keep in mind if you have people with sensitivities. The area was great (highly recommend Porkies and the AMAZING mini golf) Lots of good snorkeling and the Elks Club at the end of the block is a blast. Overall wonderful stay!

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. Since there are some 4 and 5 star ratings, I want to address some of your ratings and comments. First of all, I'm so sorry there was construction during your stay. I had no idea or I would have let you know. I'm glad you recognize that is out of our control. Regarding your rating on the location - the location is direct to ocean in seconds - it just doesn't get any better than that! The vast majority of properties in the Florida Keys and I'm unclear why you think that is a negative. Sometimes there are weeds and I get that can be frustrating. Regarding the dock...there are so many photos of the property, including drone shots, that clearly show there is no railing. That should have been no surprise to you. The purpose of the dock is for boats and other types of water crafts and it would be impossible to have both if there was a railing. No one has railing on their docks. Regarding check in, all the emails went out on time and the email with the code went to you 3 days before your arrival. However, you didn't text me until shortly before arrival regarding the code. There was glitch with the wifi and although the email went out on the time, the code wasn't in the body of the email. I responded immediately and got you the code before you ever arrived so I'm unclear why you rated a 4 star for that. Overall you said you had a wonderful stay and I'm very glad for that! We had lots of great communication during you stay and you never mentioned any of these items in those texts. I would have been happy to address any of this with you then.

Perfect House for all of Us

The property manager was great, thanks for taking off the chillenator; we're from Florida and like the pool warm..we loved having a private pool to ourselves. The house was pretty and clean. Not sure how we would get the kayaks in the canal though so we didn't try. I understand Ring security but the one pointing at the pool was a little invasive feeling. Thanks to the cleaning lady for being so cordial and cleaning early to let us enter a little before check-in. The house was conveniently located to everything we had reserved to do. The beds were comfortable. Thanks for being so accommodating to my inquiries. We had a great time!

just got back from a wonderful stay in marathon, we were 5 adults. Very good communication from host, listing was also accurate in every way. Having a home on a canal in the keys is a treat, we rented a boat for 3 days, recommend the cruise through Sombrero Bay and around Marathon, what a great day. Plus, we saw manatees almost everyday in the canal. The included amenities were very nice, we rode the bikes and kayaks frequently. The house itself was very nice, clean, and updated. Close to many things, only an hours drive to Key West and having been to the keys before and drove from Miami Airport, this is the way! Never again. Very close to grocery stores which we visited way too often but that's on us. The pool was awesome and the perfect temp, the manager recommended heat, they were right, agree to the heat for the pool, they also supply many pool floats and toys so no need to bring your own. The outdoor area overall was where we spent most of our time playing cornhole, playing cards at the very nice outdoor table, or lounging in the many loungers and chairs. There is construction going on nearby, this is an up and coming neighborhood, but the house is very soundproof so we didn't hear it while inside. I miss being there already and wouldn't hesitate to rent again.

We’re thrilled to hear you had such a great stay and took full advantage of everything—from boating through Sombrero Bay to enjoying the bikes, kayaks, and outdoor space. It sounds like you made some amazing memories (and how special to see manatees so often!). We really appreciate your kind words about the home, amenities, and communication, and we’re glad the pool heat recommendation made your experience even better. Thank you as well for your understanding regarding the nearby construction. We’d absolutely love to host you again anytime—come back and visit the Keys soon!

Great new property pleasure to stay.

This house has all you want in a waterfront property. All the interior is new and clean. Since it is new some of the lighting seemed not bright enough. It was sufficient to see but just seemed on the dim side. If you stay here and need a fan to sleep you might need to bring one. There was one standing fan in the master bedroom but the other two bedrooms didn't have anything. Pool has a chiller which was great to cool off after a long day of sunburn, it is an extra cost, I feel it should be included in price, it is not. Pool had plenty of sun exposure thru the day. Boat dock was in great shape no issues there we had a 20 ft boat to dock. The run to open water was a little tricky but it is marked for day use.

Pool is very comfortable in the morning but a bit warm in the afternoon - plenty of pool inflatables. Grill is clean and easy to use. Canal is very narrow - we had a 27' boat and had great difficulty turning it around every day - scratched the cowling on the motor because of width - keep that in mind if you have a larger boat. In the kitchen, owners need to invest in steak knives - very few sharp knives to cook with - pans need to be replaced - teflon coming off pans. Unit has an odor when you walk in - maybe previous smokers - couch is holding odors. Maybe replace with vinyl or leather so odors are not held. Pineapple Properties (Meredith) was very receptive when contacted. We appreciated this. Just a few minor changes would increase this rating to a 5 star. Thanks for your hospitality. Vicki

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I have never had any complaints about an odor and to the best of my knowledge, no one has smoked in the house. The staff has never mentioned either to me and we are there regularly. I wish you would have asked for anything you needed and we would have provided immediately. I have never had complaints about either of those two items either and we have regular guests. Thank you again for booking with us!
