This place has a fantastic west-facing view for incredible sunsets! It's right on the water, and perfect for two people. Or even potentially three or four, since there are two toilets, two sinks (one full size shower), and a fold-out sofa-bed in the living room. My fiancé and I slept on on the fold-out one night just to listen to the waves. Other nights, we slept on the big, comfy, king-sized bed.
From the building, you can walk about 20 yards to the south to a warm, public sand beach. While we were swimming there, a giant sea turtle swam by us! You won't likely find a better price for the caliber of location on Maui. It doesn't have A/C or a jacuzzi, but who cares? You can just open the big sliding glass lanai doors and window, and let the trade winds cool you down. There's also a sparkling clean swimming pool with communal gas BBQs next to it, and a big beautiful lawn with palm trees and plenty of chairs for sunset-gazing.
Other amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, two TV sets (one living room, one bedroom), zippy WiFi, and parking right in front of the building. There's on-site coin-op laundry, garbage and recycling, and a small book library. There's also an 808 Market/Deli in the building across the street, very handy for munchies and sundries.
Lots of snorkeling tours leave from the Kihei boat ramp, and you can pretty much walk to the ramp from this building. It's also a very short drive into Kihei or Wailea. Can't wait to return!
