Camp Prairie Creek is part of Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins, a mountain destination created and owned by Michael and Jessica Myers near Mena, Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains.

The story of Bethesda Lake dates back nearly a century. The lake was constructed in 1925 and was intended to become the centerpiece of a resort development that included lakeside recreation and plans for a golf course. Unfortunately, the Great Depression halted those plans before the resort could be fully developed.

In the early 1930s, the Watkins family purchased the property and operated what became known as Lake Bethesda Resort, building small cabins and opening the lake for seasonal swimming. The resort served as a gathering place for many years before closing in the late 1960s.

Over the following decades the property gradually fell into disrepair. The cabins were removed, maintenance declined, and the beauty of the lake and surrounding land became hidden beneath heavy overgrowth.

In 2019, Michael and Jessica Myers—owners of Bethesda Springs Properties—purchased Bethesda Lake and the surrounding land with a vision to restore the property and create a unique mountain destination. Working alongside talented local craftsmen, they began transforming the land and building cabins and glamping accommodations designed to showcase the beauty of the lake and surrounding Ouachita Mountains.

Today Bethesda Lake Resort & Cabins spans more than 300 acres and features a growing collection of cabins and glamping tents around the lake, with additional mountaintop cabins planned for the future.

Camp Prairie Creek welcomed its first guests in 2023 and was thoughtfully designed to offer an extraordinary glamping experience surrounded by nature.

Unlike traditional camping, Camp Prairie Creek provides the comforts most people want while still enjoying nature. Guests can relax in a private hot tub, enjoy a full bathroom with hot shower and running water, and stay comfortable year-round with heating, air conditioning, and excellent WiFi.

The tent is designed for couples or small families, comfortably sleeping up to four guests with a king bed and twin XL bunk beds.

For outdoor adventure seekers, the property also offers ride-in access to the famous Wolf Pen Gap ATV trail system just down the road, with hundreds of miles of riding throughout the Ouachita Mountains.
