Welcome to the cozy Moose Goose Cabin at Lake San Cristobal. This cabin has a modern rustic feel. It’s a one-bedroom, one-bath with a king bed and a twin-size trundle bed/couch from West Elm. Please note there is NO TV and NO smoking. The WiFi and WiFi calling are through Starlink. There are places to sit outside and enjoy the fresh mountain air and views of the lake. The town of Lake City is just three miles up the road and you are less than a half mile from the epic recreational Alpine Loop.

This cabin is great! It still has its vintage charm while providing nice modern touches such as a very comfortable king-sized mattress, tankless water heater and awesome shower. The recliners are perfect to sit back in and read a book or visit with friends and family.It is very dog friendly, has ample parking even for trailers, a nice view of Lake San Cristobal, and great access to the Alpine Loop. The neighborhood is in a mature spruce forest. Our stay was both peaceful and fun. There is no tv, which we found to be real plus! The owner provides high speed internet for phones and other devices.We will definitely stay again!

We loved staying at the Moose Goose Cabin in January! We came to Lake City to do some ice climbing in the new year, and the cabin was both close to town, and right off a beautiful lake. It had all the amenities we could need and was very cozy.

The room wasn't ready in time, the host had to send over a cleaner to get the place ready for me. The host reimbursed me for the first night because of the inconvenience. I thought that was nice, at first...There's a mouse nest inside the couch. There's mouse poop in the kitchen drawers and and cabinets. I've never stayed in a place so dirty. The listing said it sleeps 4. There's one bed and one couch. The couch is not a pull out bed. The host updated the place showing the place sleeps three but again there's only one bed and a couch infested with mice. It's a pretty location but it's not worth risking your health over. the photos are of the mouse poop that was present after the cleaners came.

Classy rustic, really nice, all the conveniences you could imagine. We caught the fall colors perfectly and they were beyond words!!!

Small and cozy

I have no complaints. The views were amazing the house was nice and clean. There was even dog treats, which was really cute. Definitely recommend for a couples trip.

Lake City and Alpine Loop fun

My friend and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend. The host informed me we were the first guests. There's accommodations for up to 4 comfortably. A bedroom in back and a pull out and couch in the living room. There's a lot to enjoy here - fire pit out back - patio area with seating and room for enjoying a nice meal outside. Lake San Cristobal is just steps away, and the San Juan Mountains and Alpine Loop trail start outside the door. We really enjoyed this spot. Only critique is the Wifi - it didn't work for us - but there was enough cell signal that it didn't really matter. Great spot and nice host!

Just an update the WiFi is Starlink and works perfectly now. Hope to have you back sometime. Also, the cabin is now available for a great getaway spot year round!

Bougiest pioneer cabin I’ve ever experienced! It’s my new fav genre. Log cabin in the woods next to a lake but with everything you wish you had—like a west elm couch, faux fur blankets, a heated toilet seat, and a stone fireplace. Loved the king bed, the cozy living room, and the bathroom tile. Michelle did a great job with the cabin, and she was great! An attentive, friendly hostess and local guide. This was my first time in lake city and I came for the ice climbing! Winter vacas are my new favorite adventure. Way less people. Snow to tuck you in and make you feel so cozy next to the fireplace with a good book and a warm drink. No light pollution. No air pollution. No one around. Just the sounds of coyotes yipping in the distance and a starry night sky. Perfect. Lots to do in town and around town in the winter too. Obvi, get on the ice at lake city ice park, but the local food, museums, beautiful drives, history, including so many ghost towns and mines to explore! Ute Ulay Mine is awesome. I want to live here. I’ll be back in the summer! And for sure again in the winter.
