Misty Mountain: Breathtaking views, peaceful moments, and fun with loved ones.

Stop for a moment – take a deep breath of fresh mountain air and absorb the amazing, panoramic views at Misty Mountain, our beloved mountain retreat! Located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Fancy Gap, VA. This large 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom house has everything you need for a great get-away!

The main level of the home features a large, sunny family room with an open concept to the dining room and kitchen. If it’s chilly – or if you just want to add some ambience - you can always turn on the gas logs. From the family and dining room you will be able to see beautiful, sweeping views that take your breath away day and night!

On the main level, the master bedroom has a king-size bed and ensuite bathroom that includes a separate soaking tub and stand-up shower. Even better, the master bedroom is lined with windows, so you have an amazing view without even getting out of bed! Completing the main level are two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a full, as well as another full bathroom with a shower/tub combo and large laundry room.

When it’s time for some fun, head down to our walk-out basement, which includes a pool table, ping-pong table, and an area set up for some serious movie-watching! The basement also includes a large bedroom with two queen beds, as well as a full bathroom.

If you want to get away from it all, head upstairs to our over-sized loft, which includes a full-size bed, reading area, and fireplace, as well as magnificent views.

The televisions on the main level and basement are “smart TVs” for all your streaming needs, and a Roku is provided with the television in the loft area. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a k-cup coffeemaker, drip coffeemaker, and a French press. The dining room table comfortably seats 6-8 people (depending on adult versus child). A card table and chairs are stored in the home, if a bigger group wants to spread out a little more.

But even with all this, the best part of the home is the wrap-around porch! Sit on the porch, rock in the chairs, take in the view, read a book, chat with friends or family, and take in the beauty and peace. At night, take a few steps down to the edge of the property to enjoy the firepit and look down at the nighttime view of the valley and up at the stars. It’s a great way to spend time alone or share with the people you love most.

We provide a starter supply of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, hand soap, and dishwasher detergent.

During snow or icy weather, four-wheel or all-wheel drive may be needed to get in/out of the property, and in extreme weather, the property may not be accessible. All other times of year, the home can be accessed by two-wheel drive vehicles. There is no charging station for electric vehicles, and the charging of electric vehicles using Misty Mountain resources or outlets is prohibited.

Please note the tax includes state and county sales tax collected and remitted by VRBO. We are required to also collect the Carroll County transient occupancy tax of 5% which has been added to the daily base rate.

Misty Mountain utilizes exterior surveillance cameras for security and surveillance reasons. The cameras do not capture any interior images. The house also has a security system, but it is disarmed and deactivated in advance of our invited guests. It will be remotely rearmed after check-out.
