A little piece heaven

The home and location were amazing. The home owners so accommodating and friendly. Our family was looking for an exceptional location to unwind and connect. We had a week of perfect weather on a beautiful secluded beach. This vacation exceeded our expectation.

Perfect Location for Families on Exuma

We loved our stay perfect location on Exuma....we were able to visit both the southern end and the northern most end easily via the van provided! Families with kids will love Hoopers Bay in that the water was as calm as I have ever seen it in Exuma and clear. Added bonus was the sea turtles 🐢 and the kayaks!!! This location and house are ideally situated. I did all the research on this vacation and felt like I picked the best place overall on the island!!! The owners are delightful 😀

Family Sanctuary

Sandy Palms at Hooper Bay is what every family vacation spot wishes it could be. Powdery beaches with turquoise water steps from the back deck. Open the door and you can turn the kids loose with a snorkel and a frisbee only to return when they're hungry. Generations of sea turtles live in the bay. You can swim and take pictures with them all day long. With kayaking, sea shell collecting, swimming, and lounging to be had there isn't any reason to leave the beach house, except to reload on food and drink. The floorplan of the property is ideal for families (if you're ever inside). Peter and Betty go all out to make your stay perfect. This place is your own private sea world filled with sun and beauty. Don't tell your friends.

This is the place to swim with turtles

We had a fantastic time. Walking distance to stores. You will always see turtles in the water. Peter was great and we were able to get a van with the rental. He was helpful in hooking us up with a chef and various tours.

Beautiful view and great beach

The house was nice and roomy. Peter was very helpful and very friendly. He showed us around and gave us recommendations of where to eat and things to do. He was always around or an email away with any questions we had. Beach was beautiful and the turtles were amazing to see. Very nice relaxing vacation. The only issue we had was that the kitchen could use some updating on utensils and pots and pans. Would recommend to others.

Great beachfront property

Had a wonderful time in Exuma. The accommodations were excellent and being so close to the beach was amazing! The beach and water were exceptional. Peter was very friendly, helpful and welcoming when we arrived on the island. He made sure to inform us about things to do and helped us become familiar with the area. BEST Beach in ALL Exuma

We had a WONDERFUL stay in Hoopers Bay. Peter the owner was VERY helpful. He had maps and detailed directions for finding everything on the island. He was always a phonecall away when we needed him. The house was very accommodating for our family of 5. (PLENTY of space!) The beach is truly the best part of the house. IT is the prettiest beach we found during our week long stay. The house come with kayaks and paddleboard to explore the bay. We saw sea turtles every day! Hoopers Bay is a short drive from Georgetown making it a very convenient location.

We had the best family vacation of our entire lives!

The home easily accommodated our family group of 12. It had everything we needed, and we also rented two of their vehicles. The beach is the finest on the island in our opinion. With it being a private home/access and all, we had it nearly to ourselves. In George Town, a five minute drive, you can pick up whatever you need at the grocery store (they all close around 6:00pm) and there are a few fish fry shacks close by too. The home is a short ride from/to the airport. When you travel there, be prepared to rent their cars (or have them help with such rentals) as cab fares can add up quickly. And, take boat excursions to see the sand bars, and visit other islands. The most beautiful waters in the world await you. The hosts are 'perfect' and truly want you to have an amazing experience. Communication between the parties is clear; no hiccups, hassles, or surprises. The hosts helped/offered us with all our needs, etc. We would highly recommend them to any serious travelers. We look forward to having a repeat experience ourselves. The whole experience was just plain wonderful!

Great location, home and value

This is our 3rd time back to Exumas and 2nd on Hooper's Bay. This is the best property we have stayed in so far and a very good value for the location and accommodations. The way that the owners have it arranged is so that smaller groups do not have to pay for the entire home. The home is divided into some apartments below but we barely saw or interacted with the bottom guests. This is also the very best beach possible on the Exumas. Peter and Betty are very easy to work with. Highly recommend this property!

Great girls trip to Sandy Palms Exuma

We stayed in the 4 BR 4 BA upstairs apartment and were very comfortable. The home was clean and well cared for. It is nicer than the pictures can capture. The view is breathtaking. Everything we needed was there. This house is PERFECT for anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation. It is situated on the best beach in Exuma. The colors of the water are amazing. Calm clear water. There are several other houses on the beach, but we mostly had the beach to ourselves. This property is centrally located but well off the road for privacy. Short drive in either direction to groceries, deli. The owner lives across the road and is extremely helpful with getting you settled in and is readily available. He has tremendous knowledge of the island and directed us to great beaches and an excursion. Truthfully, most days we were so happy with the Hooper's Bay location of this home that we saw no reason to leave the beach in front of the house. Although this home is perfect for families, we enjoyed a very special girls only trip that will be remembered for a lifetime! Thanks to Peter and Sandy Palms for making our stay fantastic! Oh, and put at least half of what you packed away. There is nowhere and no need to dress up. Shorts, tee shirts, swimsuits, sunscreen and a coverup is all you'll need. Promise!

an excellent month at sandy palms

Sandy Palms housed our entire family of 9 people, three being kids. The view from our deck is gorgeous, the rooms very comfortable, good space in the house, and also good deck space where we ate every meal. The beach is perfect, and the bay we were on was perfect for the kids to swim. All the toys there were great like kayaks, and toys for the kids to play with. all in all, a perfect vacation. fenton Elmendorf and John Elmendorf. Also Peter and Betty were very attentive to our needs.

DON'T Book This Property

The property was very clean upon arrival and well maintained. Washer broke down on first usage, but was replaced with a used washer quickly. BUT, DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY. Owners change terms of rental after arrival and charge your deposit. These dishonest owers should be avoided at all costs. Stay at this property at your own risk!

wonderful property & ideally located

We stayed at Sandy Palms for one week with another couple and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Peter & Betty are wonderful hosts, very accommodating, helpful and accessible. The property is beautiful and the unit we occupied was very comfortable and well appointed. The property is well situated for shopping with groceries and a liquor store within walking distance in one location and a spectacular meat & deli of equal distance in the opposite direction. We rented a car from Peter for a couple of outings to explore other areas of Exumas and truly enjoyed our days. We visited Georgetwon a couple of times and enjoyed the Friday night buffet at Augusta Bay. The beach was very nice and Peter had a grounds keeper to make sure it was kept clean. If you are looking for a good area to visit, with comfortable accommodations, you should consider Sandy Palms. OTTIMA, ECCELLENTE E PERFETTA. super consigliato

Consiglio questa casa a coppie, gruppi di amici, famiglie. E' PERFETTA. noi eravamo un gruppo di 6 persone. Abbiamo alloggiato Sandy Palm al piano superiore. Le camere sono belle e dotate ognuna di un bagno (comodità necessaria quando si è in tanti) la cucina è perfettamente attrezzata, quindi potete tranquillamente fare la spesa nei market e cucinare. La sala da pranzo è spaziosa e luminosa. ventilatori a pale ovunque e aria condizionata (non utilizzata dato il clima perfetto). Parliamo della vista: assolutamente spettacolare. Un oasi di cielo e mare si stende davanti ai vostri occhi, contornato da un giardino di palme. Il patio con vista è spazioso con due tavoli dove potete cenare o semplicemente guardare il panorama. Posizione: avevamo l auto e quindi abbiamo girato l isola Great Exuma. Abbiamo visitato tutte le spiagge migliori. Ma alla fine devo dire che Hooper's Bay è la migliore. Sandy Palm è situata a Hooper's Bay, riparata dal vento e dalle maree. è una piscina naturale. Il posto migliore. PETER il proprietario della casa è stato gentile al massimo. Disponibile e molto bravo. Noi non parliamo inglese e lui è stato paziente a spiegarci tutto. Disponibile per prenotarvi escursioni in barca, tour e per indicarvi le strade per accedere alle spiagge. Vi consiglia dove comprare e quali ristoranti sono migliori. insomma: Peter non solo mette a disposizione la sua villa meravigliosa, ma vi aiuta a rendere memorabile la vostra vacanza. PETER è INDISPENSABILE.. La spiaggia ha l'accesso privato. Peter noleggia anche l'auto. A noi è servita per esplorare l'isola. ah dimenticavo....oltre ad essere in una spiaggia da sogno (giudicherete voi coi vostri occhi) la posizione della villa è comodissima: 2minuti di macchina dal market e 5/10minuti da george town. Peter e Betty sono stati gentili e disponibili. Potessi allegare delle foto lo farei. Le parole non bastano. Spero di tornare in quella casa perfetta di privacy assoluta in una spiaggia tranquilla e deserta.

Мы с мужем провели три недели, в июне, 2014 года. Очень порадовал нас дом и Аппартаменты на первом этаже ! Удобное расположение , вид с террасы на море и свой пляж. Чисто, в доме, есть все необходимое. На пляж, приплывали черепахи, каждое утром!:) У хозяина дома, мы арендовали машину, и он сделал нам специальную приятную цену!:) И все возникающие вопросы,с ним, мы решали очень быстро. Рекомендую всем!

Bellisima vacanza

Ottima impressone della casa: posizione incantevole e molto comoda.La casa era pulita ed in ottimo stato. Belle le gite in barca anche se l'isola è un po' carente di ristoranti. La raccomanderei sicuramente ad amici e parenti. L'assitenza di Peter è stata impeccabile.

Great location, floor plan and cleanliness.

We had a lovely time staying at Sandy Palms. The home has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms which handled our large group with ease. The perfect beach on Hooper's Bay is just steps from the home and the owner provided beach chairs, toys and two sea kayaks. The home even has AC for those no wind days! I can assure you that we will be back!

Better than any all inclusive resort!

Sandy Palms was a fantastic vacation residence and everything was exactly as described in the listing. Peter arranged for our taxi at the airport and was at the house to greet us on arrival. He went over and above in explaining details of the house, destinations in Exuma, and other things to make our vacation enjoyable. He also checked in routinely to ensure that everything was going well, and when a small plumbing problem disabled one of the 4 toilets in the house, a plumber was on site within hours to fix it. The house was very spacious and extremely clean & well maintained with all of the amenities of home you would want while on vacation. After touring the island, I can confidently say that this is one of the best (if not the best) beach locations in Exuma. The beach is fantastic and protected most of the time from the wind, yet is so private that we saw no more than 10 people over the course of the week. We spent the last 4 days of our trip right on the beach in front of the house and enjoyed every minute of it. Our kids fed wild turtles, swam with eagle rays and found starfish and seashells within sight of the house. A small grocery store and liquor store were both a short 5 minute walk from the house to get any necessities, while a vehicle was available for a reasonable charge to get around the rest of the island (Peter made sure we knew exactly where to go). I would definintely recommend this unit to any family looking for an authentic carribean vacation without the crowds and noise of a busy all-inclusive resort. Peter and Better were very friendly, helpful and professional hosts.

We are Betty and Peter & we moved from England to Exuma in 1999 and first established the Coral Gardens B&B Guest House which was rated #1 every year since 2009 by the worlds largest travelers website. We have enjoyed welcoming guests from all parts of the world but recognised that some people wanted to stay directly on the beach.
After some while of searching we found in 2012 the ideal beachfront location, only a short distance away and named it Sandy Palms in view of the numerous palm and coconut trees in the 1.5 acre garden which surrounds the property.
We sold Coral Gardens but still live nearby and are on hand to welcome guests on arrival and help them during their stay.
